"Wanted for nothing."
All facilities were up to standard. Quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed our stay. Owner contacted us which gave us the opportunity to seek help if needed. Wasn’t sure about the hot tub which we didn’t need or use. Maybe should have been advised to switch off if not using - save energy. Many thanks
Dear Howard. Thank you so much for your feedback and for leaving the lodge spotless on departure. Property Owner

"Last year we booked No4 Hornbeam lodge."
This year we booked No1 and we were so glad we did. The hot tub is more secluded and private, there is an additional option for outside seating. The lodge itself feels much more homely. The small details make a large difference. Sykes cottages state that you may need to bring tea towels, soap etc. Not in this case. The owners kindly left everything you need for a relaxing stay. There was even a bottle of milk in the fridge! What a lovely welcome. The lodge was very clean, tidy and very well equipped. Would definitely book this again.
Dear Steve, really appreciate your feedback and your promise to return! Property Owner

"The lodge was welcoming and comfortable."
The hot tub was great for the end of the day, although we found it a little hot,( ours at home is 4 deg cooler). Overall a pleasant albeit damp stay. Weather wasn’t the best but it didn’t deter us from looking around the area.
Dear Jeffrey, thank you for your kind feedback and shame about the unpredictable British weather. Temperature can be adjusted down using the controls on the side panel for future reference. Richard and Vanessa. Property Owner

"An absolutely beautiful property in a peaceful location."
It was a fabulous stay. All really homley and all of the little extras including milk coffee and welshcakes on arrival were very much appreciated. Communication from the owners was great. The town of narbeth is a short walk away with lots of little shops bars and restaurants. We also enjoyed oakwood and wild lakes both a short drive away. I would highly recommend a stay here. I will certainly rebook Thankkyou both.
So glad you enjoyed yourselves and thank you for your lovely review. Property Owner

"This lodge is in a fantastic location, its only a 20 min drive to Tenby and Saundersfoot, and just a short walk into Narbeth, you could lounge around all day at the lodge or in the hot tub if you want too, or go and explore the beaches or forest walks all within a short drive."
I would highly recommend a visit here.
Thank you Andrew for your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

"I am a professional, middle aged, well travelled individual, and have much experience of hot tubs."
Whilst the lodge itself was pleasant and clean, unfortunately I came home a day early with appalling Hot Tub Rash, diagnosed by both a qualified Minor Injuires Nurse AND my GP, and have been placed on high dose, of strong antibiotics (Docycyline and Fucidin cream ) for a week. When I complained, I have been told Sykes Cottages take no responsibility and offer no good will gesture as this is a Health and Safety issue, and the owner wil be informed and take it from there. I have heard absolutely nothing, and am unable to get through to anyone in spite of sending photographs etc. SHOCKING! Hot tub rash occurs because of DIRTY WATER and POOR HYGIENE, and a lack of chlorine and chemical balance in the water. To add insult to injury, the Hot tub is actually out of use on the last day, as allegedly the water is changed and cleaned. Given my rash was developing, we left a day early, unsure of the exact cause at the time. Noone expects to pay a premium for a Hot Tub and have this experience. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU THINK TWICE ABOUT BOOKING WITH SYKES COTTAGES AND THIS PROPERTY, AS THERE IS NO COMEBACK WHEN UNFIT FOR PURPOSE. APPARENTLY AN OWNER HAS TO ADMIT FAULT, AND THE POLICY OF THIS LODGE IS TO IGNORE YOU. DISGUSTING. SEE PHOTOS. I HAVE BEEN IN A TERRIBLE STATE FOR A WEEK. SYKES ALSO CHOOSE TO IGNORE ME AFTER THEIR INTIAL RESPONSE THAT IT IS A HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE, THUS CANNOT OFFER A GOODWILL GESTURE. AGAIN DISGUSTING. SEE PHOTOGRAPHS, AND DECIDE IF THIS IS WHAT YOU WISH TO RISK. WE WILL NEVER USE EITHER SERVICE AGAIN.
Dear Lizzie, this a very unfortunate thing to have happened but please do not rush to judgments about our hot tub care. We have the tub emptied and replenished after every guest by an experienced technician who checks the chemical balance and makes the necessary adjustments. He sends us the photograph on each occasion showing the water clarity. Cleaning needs to happen on the Thursday because he services 10 other tubs on Friday and it simply cannot fit into his schedule. After running this tub for nearly two years now we have had no other complaints. Our contact number is included in the guest information and we did not hear from you during your stay. Sykes position is that it is up to the owner to deal with the case, rightly so, but we would rather have spoken to you at the time than receive this barrage of upper case feedback. Our position is that the water was clean. We sincerely hope that you have made a speedy recovery. Regards, Richard and Vanessa. Property Owner

"Delightful property and location, thank you."

"This lodge is actually a nice property."
However, there were several elements that resulted in our stay being less than satisfactory. The lodge itself had some things that did not seem to have been maintained properly. The plug on the bath broke after our first use, making the bath unusable. Whilst the owners did contact us about this, nothing was actually done. The taps on the sink in the bathroom were tight and using these resulted in unscrewing elements of the tap and slight dripping. The door handle on the en-suite is missing screws and came off. The oven door would not stay open meaning that cooking was hazardous as it required two of us to remove any item and even then, the door kept swinging shut. This resulted in our being unwilling to subsequently use this. The TV remote does not correspond with the symbols thereon which meant that we had to contact reception to find out how to get subtitles up. The hot tub is lovely in itself, however, we were unable to use this on the final evening as it had been refilled for the next clients and was not at temperature. This information was stated in the welcome book in the property but we did not know this before we arrived. We have stayed in several properties with hot tubs before, including two at Herons Brook, and this has never been an issue in the past. It is disappointing to book a property with this facility, only to find that it is not avaiable for one of the nights. This should be made clear on the listing for the property. Some of these points may seem trivial but the combination meant that our stay was not the excellent experience we have been used to in the past. We feel somewhat let down and are now reluctant to book again.
Dear Denise, we strive to maintain a high standard of accommodation so naturally we are very disppointed to read that your stay was not as good as you expected. Your important feedback is duly noted and has been addressed. Property Owner

"We had a wonderful time staying at this lovely peaceful lodge surrounded by nature."
It was immaculately clean and there was everything we needed to make us feel comfortable. The interior was luxurious but homely. Loved the hot tub area with its seating area. It is perfectly situated too for trips to Tenby, Saundersfoot or St Davids. Also walkable up the hill to Narberth. We found it very hard to leave. We will be back. Thank you. Steven and Janice

"We stayed at the lodge for 5 days and wished we could have stayed longer."
What a lovely place to be. The hot tub was brilliant, the area was very secluded, quiet and private. It was a pleasurable stay and would highly recommend anyone who is looking to stay there. The pictures don't do it enough justice!

"The lodge itself is very nice and spacious."
When we arrived, reception was closed. A relative had stayed at the same lodge the previous week and we contacted him and he gave s a code for the keys to get in. Luckily it was the same! There were some issues at the lodge. The decking is way too slippery (even in the poor weather which we had). Only 2 of the gas hobs on the cooker worked but the main thing for us was the water in the hot tub was too cold. It was set at 36 degrees and we were asked not to adjust. For a winter break, this 'attraction' for us was disappointing and we did not use. I looked for cottages with a hot tub.
Dear Andrew. We are sorry that your stay at the lodge did not live up to your and our expectations and thank you for your important feedback which is duly noted and resolved. Property Owner
