This cottage had been recommended to us by friends whole live in the area Well equipped with good size back garden for our doggie Be warned though when we were there in September neighours fence didn't exist making the back unsecured The cottage is in a great location It stated in the owners handbook Enough logs & kindling for one fire we looked everywhere in the cottage unable to find it

  • "We wrongly assumed it was a secure garden as our dog is liable to wander off, not far but a risk due to the roads outside the property."

Fortunately we always include a stake and extended lead in our holiday pack which he doesn't particularly like. Other than that it is a lovely cottage with various attractions within easy reach.

  • "Lovely cottage, clean and very well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay."

Heating was on so good to dry clothes and shoes. It's a really quiet area, we rested well here. The house is a good spot to travel to Brecon Beacons and explore the mountains. Parking was a bit too tricky for us so we just left the car on the road.

  • "Really comfortable cottage, very well equipped."

My husband & son (both over 6ft) weren't keen on the low doors, but for my normal height it was fine! The rooms were spacious, the kitchen well-equipped, and the beds very comfortable. Thank you very much!

  • "Albert house was a truly lovely base for us during our short stay and we would not hesitate to book again for a return trip to the area."

The house has everything you need, instructions are clear, the place is cosy and comfortable. It is very well located for many nearby attractions and even those further afield if you don't mind a longer drive.

Thank you for your kind feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Albert House. Property Owner

  • "Lovely place to stay, really comfortable and warm with lovely touches."

Could’ve done with an oven glove, we did search but couldn’t find one. Bit of noise from the property next door being renovated, the owner did apologise but if we’d of stayed longer than 3 nights it could’ve got a bit annoying as it went on into the evening.

  • "Second time staying at this lovely cottage and it won't be the last."

We stayed visiting family but it's just a short walk to the black mountains. Cottage is spotless and facilities are excellent. Highly recommended.

  • "Superb stay, enjoyed your lovely cottage and when you hit the Brecon Beacons - just wow!"

My only slight issue with the property was the parking space at the rear, reversed in as per your listing instructions but the gradient nearly took my front bumper off, getting in and out. I just parked at the front with no issues like the rest of the residents on the street. Might be worth adding this to your listing? I only have an Astra, nothing crazy low. Again, thank you very much.

Hi Nick, thank you for your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Apologies you had an issue using the off-street parking, we will look at updating the instructions for parking on the driveway; thanks for pointing out that on-street parking is available, as there is usually a plentiful supply, there is also a free public carpark a few hundred yards down the road. Many thanks for staying at Albert House Property Owner

  • "My son and I enjoyed our stay very much, as all was as was promised, more really, as a lovely welcome tea, coffee and biscuits tray greeted us and was just what we needed on arriving."

It was ideally placed for us to do all our planned trips. The Mumbles, Monkey Sanctuary, The National Gardens, Waterfalls all enjoyed with the picnic we took when we went. One day we went via Carmarthen (shops and late lunch) and on down to the coast to take an evening trip on Pembrokeshire Boats to see Puffins, Shearwaters, Razorbills and Guillemots. These 1000s of birds are a must for anyone staying there in May, June or July before birds finish rearing young and fly away. A holiday home I would recommend to anyone as the views are beautiful every time you leave the house.

  • "This is a really cute little house and we had a happy two weeks in it."

We were particularly glad that the bed was long enough - too often in holiday cottages the bed is too short and has a footboard so that tall people do not fit in it - so big plus for that. It would have been useful to know that the off road reserved parking at the back of the property is actually at the bottom of the garden and that there is back access to the garden. Had we known that, we would have brought our bicycles. The communication with the owner once we were in the cottage was brilliant, so we could clarify things like what we should do with composable waste.
