"We absolutely loved our stay."
The view is to die for and we saw some pods of dolphins from the lounge. The property is more or less on the beach which was lovely and clean. I watched it come light with a coffee sat on the patio most mornings. It is perfect to get away from all the stress of modern life. We loved the welcome pack (bread, butter, milk, marmalade, waffles) and found every thing else to be fine. I can't think of anything more we could have needed. Tea,coffee and sugar starter pack was also included. Another bonus was the log fire as we have one at home. This was alongside the central heating. It was cosy and gave a lovely atmosphere to the place. The pub is literally a 2 minute walk for food but most days I enjoyed cooking myself. I would definitely book to visit again hopefully next spring.

"Lovely old world feel."
It would in someways be a shame to modernise this lovely place. It has so much charm

"Nice holiday in a nice bungalow in a nice place right by the beach enjoyed it very much, bonus of lovely weather too & just a hop skip & jump to restaurant The Ship Inn for meal & drink."
..
Thank you, that is really kind of you. The bungalow does need some updating, but it’s perfectly comfortable and we love it too! Property Owner

"I don't normally come back to the same location, preferring to explore other locations each year but I couldn't help myself."
My second stay and it was just as wonderful as before : a lovely 1930s style bungalow (unspoilt - still has some lovely features and has not been modernised into the current trend of down lights, bifolds and greyness) in an amazing location. Tresaith beach with waterfall is lovely ( with dolphins and oystercatchers a common sighting) as are nearby Aberporth, Penbryn (including the Plwmp Tart cafe) and New Quay (with more dolphins). Some stunning coastal walks right from the front door. Ship Inn in tresaith and Gwbert Hotel recommended for dinner. And a lovely terrace with outside seating to enjoy beach and sunset views. Bliss. Hope to visit again soon.

"We loved the house due to its location and view."
The listing was accurate in terms of the decor - it does need quite a bit of updating. But because it was listed as such it did not concern us. The bathroom was clearly quite new and very well done. If the owners update the rest of the house to that standard then it will be lovely. The kitchen was okay, with everything required, but again needs updating. There were only two of us for this stay, and I would have thought this would be quite small for 6 people. If it were me I would punch through the two front bedrooms into one and have a large 'grand' bedroom with an amazing view. The smell of oil took some getting used to, but I guess that is normal for that kind of heating? There is plenty of parking - probably 3 or 4 cars in its own drive area, so no worries about that. The beach is a 30-second walk away and the pub is about 60 seconds (!). The pub has great food and is really worth a visit if you are not up for cooking. If you are a dog owner you can take your dog in. You are able to walk the coast paths north or south right from the house. All-in-all a relaxing stay, and exactly what we expected.

"A wonderful stay as usual."
Superb weather scenic views. Lovely welcome pack. Can't wait ti return

"Very disappointed."
The property was dirty, appliances rusty and it needed a deep clean and tidying up. The outside of the property was full of weeds and overgrown so the BBQ was a right off. I can cope with peeling wallpaper and a bit tired looking but there is no excuse for dirtiness. It is not a 4* property and is a disgrace when you find hairs in the freezer and have to empty the shower trap full of hair and gunk to stop it overflowing. The only good thing about the place is the view.

"Location, location, location."
What a veiw from Delyn Aur. We found the bungalow very well equipped with kitchen ware although the units could do with being replaced. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the beds made up with lovely clean fresh bedding. The bathroom was great, especially the shower, looks like a new bathroom. The main living room was a disappointment as it obviously needed decorating and if you don't like moths then don't book this place, although we didn't leave any windows open, we continually had a high moth count every evening but only in the living room, maybe they were breeding in the wood panel ceiling but 20 moths a night was not pleasant. I think it needs treatment. The rest of the house was fine. It was great to have a basket of goodies on the table and milk in the fridge, that was a very welcome touch. The seating area at the back could do with a tidy up, I felt that the property just needed a bit more TLC.

"Fantastic views."
Couple of minutes stroll to a small quiet beach. So peaceful sitting on the terrace looking out to sea. Some comfortable outside seating would be a huge bonus. Bathroom has been refurbished and is lovely but the walk in shower does need a hand rail. The rest of the bungalow, as the stated in the spec, needs an update, although perfectly comfortable. We too were plagued with moths every evening in the living room despite keeping doors closed. Assume they are breeding in the wooden ceiling. The property does need a deep clean, as very dusty, which we discovered when moving furniture to get to the moths.Toaster needs replacing and a dishwasher would be a great addition.

"I was nearly put off because of poor old Vivien’s horror review."
The reality was a bungalow, with huge amounts of parking, comfortable beds, plenty of storage space, ample facilities and a breathtaking view. It’s a lovely little place that is clearly being renovated. The odd bit of peeling wall paper is nothing to worry about, just sit on the patio and breathe in the sea air and you won’t care! There is a great pub just two minutes away, but the real star is the beach; which is clean, sandy and a great place to wave at the grandparents sitting outside the house!

"Always a lovely stay here."
Would come again

"On arrival it was apparent that the property was in need of a makeover."
Wallpaper was coming off in the hall and bedrooms. Floorboards very badly scuffed and in places loose. The beautiful new bathroom had black mould in the shower and the pedal bin was very grimy on top. The kitchen is very dated and in need of a deep clean. The oven was very dirty. Lots of chipped crockery and dirty spatula in the drawer. The central heating was very efficient. The settee still sported an ugly big stain (this was noted in a September review) no remedial action had been taken. We covered it with a throw so we could use it. The lounge curtains were ripped and about 40 years old by the pattern. On departure we stripped the double bed and discovered to our horror a badly stained mattress protector. At that point we ceased cleaning and departed. Not the standards we expect from a rental property. The location was perfect but the feeling of grubbiness never left us for the duration of our stay

"Lovely property, fantastic location, great upgrade on bathroom since our last visit, unfortunately had to leave after 2 nights as family member taken to hospital."
Hope to revisit again in future.

"We have had a very enjoyable holiday at this holiday home."
Great views from most rooms. Comfortable and relaxing.

"The location of the cottage is great, amazing!"
The outside seating is great, with amazing views. The down side is the fabricate of the cottage is shabby and grubby. There was a big dirty stain on the settee, which looked like urine. I had to use a cover off one of the beds to go over it. The place was very damp and not good for someone with breathing issues. The wall paper was coming off the walls in places due to the damp and it all looked unclean. The bedding was old and not pleasant and the head board was covered in dry skin and hair from others. It is such a shame as the actual cottage is lovely and there are some really nice touches, for example the fire made up in the log burner and the use of a bbq.

"Although in a excellent location disappointed with the poor presentation definitely needs a refit and a good cleaner old kitchen cupboards that smelt didn't like putting food in them very dusty behind furniture and blinds really bad!"
!! Sorry to be so negative and have noticed others have made similar comments would definitely be worth the money if improvement made
-
"What a great location and lovely character bungalow with great views (including some lovely sunsets)."
I will definitely be back! Yes, I agree with some comments that the kitchen perhaps needs a bit of an update and deep clean. However the new shower room is fantastic and the beds are all comfortable. Bedding and towels were all spotless, and there was a lovely, new outside dining set on the patio. Good amount of parking; lovely walks along the coast; great little local pub; and a good location to venture further if you can bear to tear yourself away from Tresaith. I would just add that the beach is supposed to be dog-free for some months but this seems to be largely ignored by locals and some visitors - unfortunately not everyone keeps their dogs under control or picks up after them. So if you are going there for a dog free beach holiday, this may not be the beach for you. However, on the whole it was a clean and quiet beach with a lovely waterfall.

"Just a lovely place to stay"

"The location of Delyn Aur is stunning - sea views from the living room, kitchen and main bedroom, and a very short walk to be on the beautiful beach."
It was also the perfect location to explore other beautiful surrounding areas. The house is fairly basic but that is reflected in the very reasonable price. No dishwasher so bear that in mind! Although it sleeps 6 I’d say it would be cramped with that many people, and there’s only one bathroom. It was perfect for 4 of us, two adults and 11 & 13 year olds. Took us a while to get the hang of the hot water - setting it on “twice” barely gave us one hot shower, heating is excellent and the house warms up very quickly when you put it on. Very responsive owner when we had a radiator glitch, although no toilet roll was ever delivered after arriving to virtually none! Overall a wonderful stay, we’d love to go back.

"The property is in a lovely position with fabulous views of the sea."
It takes a while for the property to warm up but, once it does, it is cosy. The bathroom is modern but the rest of the property could do with updating. We would return.

"Wonderful stay in the most beautiful location."
Can’t wait to come back

"What a fabulous location very close to Tresaith beach with lovely views from most windows."
House lovely and warm with central heating (we were there in February and during storm Eunice). House is well equiped and comfortable. It could do with a minor refurb. Wi-Fi variable reception (BT fault not the owners). Excellent place to just relax or explore other secluded bays of the Cardiganshire coast. Overall, a very enjoyable property to stay in. Diolch yn fawr.

"Overall this was a great place to stay."
Obviously it is a work in progress but if any future changes are as good as the Bathroom refurb it will be a fantastic place. The view from the lounge and front bedroom is Amazing. The local pub is warm and welcoming. Only downside was the general cleanliness of the property on arrival
-
"The property was in an excellent location, however it was sadly let down by the poor cleaning service."
There were dust balls in one corner of the lounge and when I moved a cushion, to tidy it , I found sweet papers, a stone and lots of sand. The bedding, towels etc were of a high standard. This property is obviously a work in progress and will eventually be superb... just not yet.

"Fantastic weather, loved the improvement's to the bathroom, cottage was welcoming and homely."
was lovely to have heating at the flick of a switch when it got chilly in the evenings.
-
"So lovely! Views are stunning, has everything needed and is obviously on its way to being modernised."
Would stay here again anytime. Loved falling asleep to the sound of the sea.
-
"We stayed for 2 weeks and after 1st week realised there was no spare bed linen to change bed."
Contacted owner who said that is all they provide but after further emails agreed to supply some. Also oven was really dirty and eventually found grill tray on top of fridge and also very dirty which we had to scrub before using. On the other hand the bathroom had been updated and was very good.

"Have used SYKES COTTAGES before with no problem."
This time BIG problems with key.You told us the key number 6821B in all correspondence even the week before we went there.Having travelled over 150 miles we got there tried the number in box positioned to the right of front window as instructed NO KEY in there. We tried to phone the two numbers given to us by yourselves but no answer. We kept ringing and leaving messages meanwhile getting increasingly worried about what we were going to do.We contacted our daughter who was trying to find somewhere for us to stay the night as we are in our late seventies and too tired to travel much further.EVENTUALLY we received a reply from the owners to say there was a new box left of window and number had been changed. Sara the owner said you had been informed of this but obviously had not passed the message on to us.NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED as not a good start to our holiday.
Please accept our apologies for not notifying you of the change to the key safe code. The contact details given are correct and all future guests have been made aware of the new key code. Property Owner

"Very cosy, well equipped, clean house."
Exactly what we were expecting from the pictures on line. The planned renovations didn’t detract in any way from our break. View of the sea is fabulous. Three minute walk to the pub, two minute walk to the beach. Great spot for seeing the area. Although we live only an hour away, we plan to return, and see more of Ceredigion.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay in Delyn Aur."
The cottage was well equipped and in the most stunning location with amazing views. Plenty of activities in the area to keep children busy, even teenage boys! Looking forward to our next stay.
-
"Amazing location very close to the beach."
Bathroom has been refurbished and is great . Rest of property could do with some updating . Heating very efficient and wifi and tv great . We really enjoyed our stay and would return .

"Had a lovely break at the cottage in October, great location for coastal walks and nearby pubs which you can walk to, cottage was lovely and warm with lovely views of the sea and plenty of room to park cars, it is equipped with everything you need, we slept with the windows open and it was lovely to go to sleep listening to the waves!"
In the summer you would be able to have your breakfast outside on the terrace furniture looking at the lovely view. The only negatives were the bathroom which could do with a refresh, the bottom three inches of the shower curtain had horrible brown/black mould on and the silicon sealer around the bath had black mould as did the top corner of the bathroom where the window has obviously not ben opened after people had showered, toilet seat was very loose and moved every time you sat on it which was a bit annoying. Also we felt the property did not have that "freshly cleaned smell" on arrival and looking under the sofas there was dust and a few conkers so they had not been moved for a while, bed linen did not have that freshly washed and conditioned smell. We rent a lot of holiday properties from various companies around the UK and Europe and we always leave what we feel is constructive criticism feedback, we are not over fussy people but a lick of paint in the bathroom and a bit longer spent on cleaning would make the property more pleasant to stay at. We would stay at the property again because of its location and hope it might have had a lick of paint throughout to freshen the property up by then. When we were departing the property the two male cleaners arrived and we informed them of the issues in the bathroom, they said the owner of the property was staying in the property the following week and they would inform him of our comments Bryn and Gill Jones Stayed 3-10th of October 2020

"I enjoyed my holiday - the cottage has fantastic views of the beach and sea parking was very good room for three cars."
The house was warm and welcoming. I slept in the children's bunk bed and it was very comfy as were the other beds. There was plenty of bedding and soft furnishings. The Kitchen was well stocked with all the usual crockery and a slow cooker which came in handy. The only slight problem was with the bath which was a bit cramped but the owner has informed me this will be improved next year as I plan to rebook

"No towels for two people Heating system was run by diesel and gave off fumes !"
would off been nice to have milk left for us as other Sykes cottages do more logs for woodburner would have been nice positive side the beds were very comfortable and ever thing clean
In response to your feedback, we are so glad you found the beds comfortable as we replaced them at the beginning of February and hoped they would enable those staying to have a restful nights sleep. I'm sorry you were not left out any towels, this has been addressed with our changeover provider and will be made available for every booking. As for the boiler, it runs on domestic oil rather than diesel. We will look at improving ventilation from the cupboard to the outside. Milk and logs are difficult for us to provide as we do not live close by, therefore we do provide tea, coffee and sugar, but advise those staying, to bring fresh milk with them. We are looking into how we can make dry logs available, we hope to build a storage facility in the near future. They are usually available to buy at the garage shop though, which is 5 minutes drive. Thank you for your feedback, we are new owners of this property and we use any feedback to help make this lovely little property better for future bookings. We stay in the house with our 3 young daughters regularly and have a vested interest to make it as nice as possible. Onwards and upwards. Property Owner

The property
This detached single storey 'colonial-style' bungalow, built in the 1950s, provides an idyllic holiday location, being just a short distance from the Blue Flag Tresaith beach.
There is a range of facilities on offer, a café, shop, the Ship Inn and public toilets all within a stone’s throw of the beach and are requisites to be awarded a Blue Flag.
The beach has golden sand, a waterfall and is flanked by dramatic cliffs.
Children love exploring the rock pools exposed at low tide on either end of the beach.
Coastal walks lead you to more sandy beaches at Penbryn, Aberporth and Llangrannog. Cardigan Bay is famous for its resident bottlenose dolphins and you may be lucky enough to spot them from the beach at Tresaith or a little further up the coast at New Quay, where you can go on dolphin spotting boat trips and be rarely disappointed of a sighting.
About the location
TRESAITH
