"Great walks from cottage door."
Cottage has everything needed for the stay. Kitchen well stocked with utencils. Warm, we turned heaters down in fact.

"If you enjoy outdoor life and want to be in a remote and beautiful area then this place ticks all the boxes."
We visited last year and enjoyed our stay so much that we went back for a second time. We will certainly visit again.

"This little cottage is delightful, we were warm, dry ( goodness it rained) and comfortable."
I have only 2 nit picks.. The garden attached to Granary Cottage could be made dog proof, it was very easy for our dog to dive under the fence so we were ultra vigilant. It wouldn't take much to make it a secure place. Secondly the mattress on the bed was awful! Maybe consider a new one.. But these two ( minor) issues apart, the cottage was lovely, comfortable and warm Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback. It always helps me to improve the place. I particularly appreciated your balanced views on your stay. Yes, did it rain?! With reference to your 2 "nit picks," to enclose the garden as most people understand the use of that word (including myself) would actually take a lot. Getting under the fence by the road wouldn't be too difficult but in order for me to make the garden "secure" and stop big dogs jumping over the stone wall into my garden (where the log cabin is) would not only be costly and possibly unsightly for both gardens but take away my own view. Larger dogs have and do jump over the wall. I don't actually mind to be honest. I do mind that Sykes call it an enclosed garden. I feel sure they could find other words to explain what they mean. I have asked more than once. Until then sadly, I am the one who always receives the complaints....not Sykes! Your 2nd point about the mattress being "awful" doesn't really tell me much at all. I would need further clarification. I have to say most people have told me what a really comfortable bed it is. I have a topper on it which I know makes it feel "softer" for some. That can easily be removed if another guest asks in future. I don't have plans to buy a new mattress, it's not really that old. But when I do, what kind do I buy...a soft one, harder, hard? I'll never make everyone happy, I do know that. I'll end by hoping Sykes are able to change the wording for "enclosed" and thank you once again for bringing this to my attention...and Sykes. "We loved staying in the Granary Cottage."
It was comfortable, super quiet, chill and had amazing views. The 20 minute walk to the secluded (on some days to ourselves) sandy beach was more of a scramble (read, I climbed back up bare foot as didn't have great shoes for it) that a plain walk, but it was worth it! Mandy, our host, was very friendly and helpful. Our doggo Charlie had a wonderful time too, he/we didn't want to leave!

"The cottage is not fit to stay in it smelt strongly of damp with black mould on all the walls in bedroom and living room the cushions and duvet was damp, there was mould in the shower and on the rubber of freezer door also."
We never even unpacked the smell was overpowering. There is no welcome pack or directions to nearest shop (15min drive down lanes garage shop) a bottle of proseco in fridge milk would have been more appreciated. The garden is not enclosed or secure for any size dog. The cottage itself is located at the end of unmarked lanes , more accurate directions should be available. We have used sykes cottages for many years and 3times a year and we have never had such an experience do not want to experience it again. After several phone calls have manage to get a full refund
I am keen to respond to this feedback which was posted after their stay in the Granary cottage on the 19th July. I am certainly able to hold my hand up to some of the comments which I will address. I said goodbye to guests the same day the couple in question arrived. They had loved the cottage, had spent a fabulous week and are going to book for next year. The cottage has been prone to mould since we began (as is our own farmhouse and many other properties in this part of Wales). We try to keep it ventilated as much as possible as well as warm. The cushions on the dining chairs weren't actually damp after speaking to 2 people who know a lot about upholstery....and had felt them. They are waxed meaning they are suitable for indoors and out. The sofa cushions were dry. I wish I had felt the duvet when the couple mentioned it. It wasn't damp at all. My own house cleaner had made the bed earlier in the afternoon and is particularly fussy and sensitive about damp, she would never have made up the bed with damp bedding even if I'd paid her double! The bed was not damp at all when I examined it. My explanation of that as a professional hypnotherapist is once someone has planted a seed in their mind about something, especially a negative one, it spreads i.e. "the place is damp, the bed is bound to be." The drive to the local shop is 7 or 8 minutes, not the 15 minutes mentioned and the "garage shop" to which they refer happens to be an award winning Londis shop in the whole of the UK which many locals choose to frequent despite it being pricier than the large stores. I chose Prosecco as a welcome drink assuming people would bring their preferred milk. There are a huge variety of milks on the market and with all the news surrounding allergies, I have chosen to keep things simple. Directions can now be put in my welcome email about the locality of the nearest shop. Thank you for pointing that out. Yes, there are many "unmarked lanes" as was pointed out. That would need to be taken that up with the Local Authorities. Our own directions from the main road, many have commented, are excellent. Directions are sent to all the guests in an email and we have signposts in the hedge almost from the main road. My handyman discovered a large crack in a window above the granary cottage blocked up with hard plastic. He feels sure this is how the damp had come in and with all the rain we have had, it doesn't surprise me the cottage was damp. I must apologise for not spotting this sooner. I have no excuses at all for that error. The window was sorted by the following day, sealed in and it is now bone dry upstairs. The whole cottage has now also been painted. I was unfortunately not there at the time these guests arrived, something I aim to avoid on changeover day. Not only that, my cleaner (who had not been pulling her weight for several weeks) "threw an absolute wobbly" is the politest way to describe it and had hardly cleaned at all that day. That certainly did not help matters. Any mould present would have been cleaned off. We now have a new cleaner who is fabulous. As far the comment, "the garden is not enclosed or secure for any size dog," may I point out to anyone reading this that they refer to Sykes' definition of "enclosed." I know that a dog can leave the garden anytime it wants through the post and rail fence but all 3 sides of the small paddock are enclosed for the Granary guests' use only. Sykes do not use the word "secure" in any of its advertising. The lady concerned had a serious health condition which was greatly exacerbated by damp conditions. The couple said they had a criteria list which they used when searching for a rental cottage. May I point out respectfully and kindly that putting an old farmhouse prone to damp in wet weather be now put to the top of their list. The comments used i.e. "the smell was overpowering" may well have been true I'm sure for someone suffering with a mould allergy. Myself, the handyman and guests the week before were unaffected. I understand they have now been given a full refund. May I point out, the "several phone calls" to which they refer, were made to Sykes. My personal promise before they left was to give a full refund and this promise, I subsequently kept. This is my first communication with them. I too have had an excellent relationship with Sykes for 12 years and although this was an unfortunate situation, it has now been rectified. I am able to offer my personal apology to this couple now. I am positive as with anyone booking their holiday, that you were deeply saddened driving home. It would be absolutely true to say that as I lay in bed that night, I felt genuinely sad too. I felt under the circumstances, we left each other on good terms. Thank you to any potential guest for reading this long response. Please be assured that the situation has now been rectified and since these particular guests' visit, others staying in the Granary cottage have been very happy. Property Owner

"Mandy is a very welcoming host."
We loved the sea view, closeness to coast path and beach, and the gardens. We had a really comfortable and relaxing stay. This is a brilliant cottage in a beautiful place. Great farmshop nearby. Especially enjoyed food and swims at Llangrannog.
-
"We have stayed in the Granary once before and whilst sometimes I think it is not a good idea to go back somewhere where you previously had a wonderful holiday as a second visit could disappoint, this was definitely not the case."
We had another great stay in the Granary and once again Amanda was the perfect host. The area is just outstanding with beautiful beaches and walks literally on the doorstep.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Granary Cottage."
Facilities are good, has wi-fi, and the host is very friendly and helpful. Everything is there for a very relaxing break away, with sea views. The electric heaters in the cottage are excellent for keeping you warm at night and the bed is very comfortable. It is however in a very remote location so you do need sat. nav to negotiate these single track roads, and find the Granary Cottage. A great location for walkers and you can take your dog. I totally recommend it.
-
"Absolutely fabulous place, cottage was comfortable clean and in an amazing location."
Mandy was a lovely lady and we can't wait to go back and see her and stay in the cottage again and both dogs second that.
-
"A lovely property with superb views and excellent location near the coast path."
V helpful owner, relaxed, and a minor maintenance issue (blown bathroom bulb) sorted on the day.
-

"We really loved our holiday in The Granary Cottage; fantastic location and a very well maintained and appointed cottage."
If you enjoy a remote location with fabulous walks then this is certainly a place that I recommend. Our very best wishes Mike, Di and our dog Fudge.

"Mandy made us welcome at a very comfortable Granary Cottage."
In a beautiful location, within easy access to local footpaths and beaches, it afforded an opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside - an opportunity we made the most of!
-
"We had a wonderful week staying at the Granary, Amanda was the perfect host, very welcoming and friendly."
The cottage was perfect, well maintained and spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is fantastic for walking and we were lucky to have had a perfect week weatherwise.
-

Only downside is parking under trees, but a great week with lovely host.
-

Granary cottage has everything that you need for a lovely peaceful holiday.

"We had a lovely warm welcome from Mandy on arrival, despite arriving late in the evening due to traffic holdups on the M4."
It's a lovely place, just on the edge of the coastal path with lots of lovely walking!
-
"Lovely cottage in a very quiet location with great access to the Wales Coastal Path."
Lovely host, very helpful. Clean, comfortable, cosy cottage. We had a lovely week, thank you.
-
"Everything was there that was needed for our stay."
Warm , dry and cleaned to a high standard. Mandy was warm and welcoming, the perfect host Only 1 bit of feedback with regards to the parking . The carpark is too far when the weather is poor ..we found we had to drive as near to the cottage as possible, to keep the dogs from not getting too much mud on their paws , bringing it into the cottage. There is a space near the steps , that perhaps could be made a little larger, to have 1 car park bay. This would not effect the opening of the field gate , the public access or the carers parking , when they visit ' mum's room'.
-
"Such a lovely place to stay with a cosy cottage overlooking the sea."
Would definitely recommend and will be returning.
-
"We have just spent a week in Granary Cottage with our 2 small dogs."
A week of total bliss. I didn't want to leave. Beautiful cosy cottage in a beautiful part of Wales. Mandy the owner was super friendly and helpful. The view from the settee in the front room was mesmerising. Thankyou Mandy for a fantastic holiday.
-
"Lovely cottage and was great for the dogs with plenty of walks close by as the coastal path outside the front door."
-
"Everything you require for a secluded week away from it all."
Just when you think the lane is ending - keep going. Comfy bed, well stocked kitchen with all the suitable utensils. Lovely view from the sofa of the cows, the sea and at night the bats. Cafes, restaurants and chip shop a short drive away, but good walks right from the front door.
-
"A quiet and beautiful setting with sea views and the coastal path outside the front door."
The cottage was characterful, comfortable and bigger than I imagined from the photos. A great lace to unwind. Host Mandy was very welcoming. We will be back.
-
"Lovely property in such a quite location."
...The beach just 0.3 miles away is stunning to say the least....A perfect holiday and Amanda the owner is a perfect host.
-
"We had a wonderful holiday quiet, relaxing and picturesque Mandy was a wonderful host."
-
"We had a fantastic holiday in the Granary Cottage."
The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful setting with easy access to the coast path. It was very clean and had everythIng we needed. Arrival instructions were clear and the owner was really considerate and helpful. We enjoyed exploring the coast, mostly on foot, and sampling the local cafes and bakeries. Thank you!
-
"Amazing locked away/get away from everything bolthole with stunning views and everything in the cottage you need."
Lovely owner who could not be nicer who just leaves you to get on with it. Thanks for eveything.
-
"We had a wonderful stay at your cottage."
It was everything we wanted. Quiet, relaxing, picturesque, overall one of the best we have stayed in. Close drives to the wonderful beaches and coastline.
-
"Lovely spot."
Really relaxing weekend. Host was wonderful. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Everyone was friendly and it filled the gap for a short break perfectly.
-
"A very relaxed week with inspiring sea vista ."
Coast path just a field away with alluring beach below and other gems within easy reach if you do not mind narrow lanes. Mandy was an excellent host and the wifi upgrade was brilliant allowing calls when there was no signal. John Birch

"A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location to properly escape from it all!"
The cottage was clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The gardens were beautiful with quirky touches that made the place even more iddilic and you can’t really ask for more than a sea view from your sofa whilst being in a peaceful location! We ventured to the local beach which is difficult to get to but well worth it if you are happy to scramble a little for basically a secluded beach that was almost always just us and the dog and was particularly amazing at sunset! Definitely would stay here again! Thanks for a lovely stay Amanda :)
-
"Lovely cottage but not suitable for people with disability it does state you cannot get to the beach if mobility issue BUT this is not stated for the cottage."
It also opened up onto the path for the cows and for anyone going to the beach so not suitable if you have a dog that barks at everything he sees so we cut our holiday short
-
"The cottage was very well equipped with everything we could possibly want and much more, Its right on the costal path & perfect for leaving the car behind & walking from the cottage."
Such a gem & the perfect get away we could not have been happier. Thank you to the host Mandy, who was very welcoming & helpful.
-
"I had a very enjoyable stay at Granary cottage, the sea view was amazing and the bed very comfortable."
Lovely walks along the cliffs and down to the beach but very steep to walk back . Nice to have a private garden to sit in and the weather was good for March which enabled me to use it. . Wi-Fi signal very hit and miss . Mandy the owner was very accommodating .
-
"Well presented cottage in beautiful remote location."
Warm and welcoming. Thanks Mandy.
-
"First class accommodation for 2 (and a dog in this instance)."
Excellent location, with close walking access to Coast Path and just a few minutes’drive from Llangrannog (especially via the country road.) Very nicely equipped cottage in quiet location and a view across the fields from the lounge to the sea. Beautiful isolated beach(Traeth Bach),complete with waterfall within walking distance, though quite a scramble to access it (ask owner for best route down). All in all,a comfortable and very relaxing weekend.Highly recommended.
-
"Amanda gave us a lovely warm welcome and made a fuss over our two small dogs."
Cottage was very clean, very well equipped. The view was out of this world and all from our lounge window. The gardens are so beautiful, with such lovely gates and inscriptions that make it a peaceful place to be. Whilst walking round you will see the home sweet home sign to the Fairy on a swing! Not to mention all the lovely tomatoes that are growing. Plenty of beautiful walks and things to do. Or just stay in and enjoy the view and lovely walks. Thank you Amanda for your hospitality, we will definitely be returning. Berwyn and Daphne Phillips

"We really enjoyed our time here."
Excellent host, very friendly. Lots to do, walking and beaches mainly which is why we chose this locality. We went to Cardigan and Aberaeron easily. It could not have been nicer. Thank you.
-
"Amanda was the perfect host really made sure we were happy, a small hiccup happened and was put right promptly this is a sign of a good owner, nothing but nothing was too much trouble Thank you Amanda."
-
"What a lovely stay we had."
Mandy was the most welcoming host. Would definitely recommend and go back.
-
"Absolutely stunning location and Mandy was the perfect host"
-
"An Idylic setting in a lovely little barn with modern conveniences."
The views were all amazing and evenings were spectacular due to exceptionally good weather for Wales. The host Amanda was so kind and even brought us little treats. A big thank you .
-
"What a great peaceful getaway!"
The Granary Cottage is ideally placed for walkers due to the coastal path being right on the doorstep (literally). The cottage itself is lovely and had all the amenities you would want. Plus Mandy the owner was so personable and friendly, she provided a warm welcome which made our stay even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend. Would recommend taking trips to nearby coastal villages of Aberporth and Llangrannog where you can explore the wonderful beaches and find good restaurants and takeaways.
-
"A beautiful location, we received a warm welcome from Mandy upon arrival and will definitely be going back"
-
"It was all as expected the owner very pleasant and not at all intrusive but very helpful and informative."
-
"Lovely quiet location, with fantastic views."
-
"Very clean and comfortable."
We appreciated the warm welcome from Mandy. The sea views and closeness to the coast were brilliant - fantastic location.
-
"Mandy welcomed us and was very obliging."
The cottage is very close to the house but Mandy left us to it and just said if you need anything let me know . The road to the cottage was challenging when arriving in the dark but I do not think anything could be done about that. We hope to return again in the future.
-
"Returning customer to this cottage."
Very pleased to see points noted at the last visit had been rectified. Great remote spot and though the weather was not the best most of the time, when it was wet and wild outside, you felt safe and warm inside. Already booked for next year. Thanks Mandy x
-
"Beautiful location, stunning views cottage was compact and cosy, the owner was very welcoming, approachable and accommodating."
Would recommend to family and friends. The whole process from booking to payment was made very simple with quick response to questions etc We would definitely use this site again and will book this cottage again we had an absolutely superb holiday.
-
"A great location for walking your dog."
Plenty of fields and a costal walk to a private beach all on your doorstep. Cardigan is a lovely town and so is Narberth to visit. All local beaches lovely and dog friendly. Mandy the owner is very nice and helpful. A beautiful cottage with lovely views.
-
"Lovely quiet location with easy access to the coast path."
The sunsets over the sea are spectacular. The owner has a friendly attitude and therefore created a relaxing atmosphere for our holiday.
-
"Perfect for a couple wanting a very quite and relaxing location with a sea view."
The drive to the somewhat remote location is along quaint narrow country lanes full of wildlife.
-
"A truly charming cottage in one of the most beautiful and peaceful locations."
To be able to look out across the fields to the sea is invigorating and our dog loved it to!!
-
"Perfect small retreat for two with a dog, direct access to coastal path, half hour walk to Llangrannog with good pubs which serve decent food which overlook the lovely sandy beach."
There is a secluded sandy beach close by called Traeth Bach with a steep climb down but worth the descent! A little scrambling is required, not for the faint hearted. Very warm welcome from the owner Mandy, who was very accommodating. We stayed for 2 nights over the Easter break. The cottage has a small garden to the side, you also have use of a larger picnic area which is again great for letting the dog have a run around. The cottage has everything you will need, it’s very clean and modern with open plan to lounge and kitchen. It has 1 double bedroom with separate shower room with W/C which again is modern and tiled to a nice standard. There were some lovely touches tea and coffee sachets, shower gel and toilet rolls .. lovely in a self catering cottage and a lovely welcome card too! We will certainly return in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to other couples who enjoy walking. Alan & Nikki Potter

"Although first impressions were muted we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Granary Cottage."
Plenty of walks, although we are less able these days but our young Labrador had a great time. Plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area, great for photography or birdwatching.
-
"We have a lovely relaxing break with super views of the sea."
-
"We had a wonderful time in this wonderful small cottage which has the most amazing view and is in a beautifully quiet location."
-
"Even though it is situated adjacent to the Ceredigion Coastal path, The Granary was a very quiet, peaceful location with a great view."
This is the only place we have ever stayed that is quieter than our home (Cumbria) and we slept very well. Mandy, our host, was very welcoming and friendly. She also made sure that the location was well signposted which was appreciated. We were very comfortable and well catered for during the week in this cosy cottage and would definitely return.
-
"The cottage was in a lovely location down a long lane, you could sit on the sofa an look across the field to the sea."
The cows were entertaining as they liked to look through the windows when passing. Cottage had everything we needed and our host was on hand, helpful and hospitable. It was only a half hour walk to the village along the cliff path. Local pub and fish and chips were great so eating out was no problem. You need to be aware the enclosed garden is to the side of the property so you cannot just open the door and let the dog out you need to walk to the side of the cottage and open the gate this was not a hardship for us but may be a problem with some dogs.A lovely spot and a lovely holiday I would highly recommend it.
-
"It was everything I wanted and more."
This old cottage is perfect, you get the feel of the history whilst having the modern comforts. The location and views are out of this world. Would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a quiet get away. The sunset is breathtaking and you can see it all from your sofa. For myself and my dog this holiday was heaven and I will 100% be returning
