  • "A beautiful setting, fantastic accommodation, and wonderful hosts."

It really was a beautiful location, with the freshest of air, and clearest of night skies. The cottage itself had everything you needed, all the furniture was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped.

Just be prepared it is quite far from any villages etc but a great escape from the world, peaceful and full of wildlife.

Thank you, Chloe, for your kind review. The barn is a distance away from everything, making it a special place to unwind. Good luck to you both. Hopefully see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "A really beautiful home from home to get away from everything."

The property has been very tastefully decorated and everything felt high end/quality. Possibly the cleanest property we’ve ever stayed in too. The owners had thought of everything, not a thing missing in our experience. We had a lovely, peaceful stay - purposely choosing this property with the hope of not having to leave and explore anywhere (although it was tempting knowing the beautiful places around us). But we wanted to relax for a couple of days after a very busy/stressful year. It was lovely to be able to take short walks on the property itself and enjoyed walking up the hill to see the sunset and meeting the gorgeous donkey’s on site. We only went out one evening to pick up some food from the local Co-Op and had tea in Builth Wells at The White Horse, food was very good here and it’s directly opposite the local car park which is free after 6pm. The property owners are attached to the house, but you would barely know they are there. We did see/speak to them a couple of times during our stay but mainly due to an eco survey site inspection taking place (and they needed access to the property) and also the electricity needed to be turned off for a couple of hours on the same day. We were kept informed and this was very minimally invasive to our stay. The owners even brought us a flask of hot water in case we wanted a hot drink during power outage but it was only off about 90 mins so not a problem. The house is very remote from main roads, and the only sounds you can hear are the river/stream running along the property. So peaceful. The only minor negative for us were the bed pillows - they are obviously very expensive, feather filled pillows but provided little support and we struggled to get comfy at night. This is a personal preference though and others may love them! We really loved all the eco friendly products for cleaning and having a kitchen caddy. The bathroom / shower was really lovely too. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to others looking for a relaxing, peaceful break.

Thank you for your great review. We've tried to make the cottage as comfortable as possible for humans and dogs, so your stay will be relaxing even if the weather isn't great. I am sorry the pillows weren't comfortable. You should have mentioned it to me, as there are spare pillows in the cottage, and I could have pointed them out to you. You would be more than welcome to visit us again. Property Owner

  • "Graig Fawr accommodation did not disappoint."

Recently converted to a very high spec, every detail was on point. The most comfortable bed with good quality bed linen ensured a great night's sleep. The area is off the beaten track, creating that 'getting away from it all" vibe. That said it's a 20min drive equidistant to the Elan Valley, Llandrinod Wells and other Nature reserves. A big tick from my four legged friends, had trouble getting them into the car when it was time to leave! Would highly recommend. Kirstie and Paul, I hope you have a busy and successful season, you totally deserve it. Best wishes Helen, noisy Betsy and Bear (Bristol)

Helen, thank you for your kind review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay even if you had 4 seasons in one day!! It certainly is a place to unwind. It was a joy to have Betsy and Bear here. Hopefully see you again at some point. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable cottage; beautiful setting and friendly hosts."

It would have been helpful to know that on leaving the main road, the drive to the cottage was just over a mile along a narrow lane and then up an even narrower track.

Hello Corinne, I am sorry you felt the drive to the cottage was long. We do send out a how to find us attachment with our arrival information and a link to using what3 words to help you. and sykes do also have a map showing how remote we are. We find our property does suit people looking for a quiet location wanting peace and quiet, so may not suit everybody. Property Owner
