  • "What a fabulous place."

Tucked away in a quiet, tree-lined cemetery, the property is genuinely wowing from the moment you open the front door. The large main room, complete with a very lovely soft-toned grand piano, is a magnificent space, and yet also manages to be cosy and, like the rest of the building, very warm and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It's such a varied and appealing area, with eateries and shops on the doorstep, as well as wild beaches and coastal walks just minutes away. A real find in all respects.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Oystermouth Chapel."

My son (who is an accomplished pianist) loved having the grand piano there (although it might need a slight tune?). The chapel is a great base - our dogs loved their visits to Rhosilli beach and nearby Caswell and Langland Bays, as did we. The chapel was very quiet and peaceful and the big log burner kept us warm in the evenings. Thanks for a lovely stay.

On our arrival there was milk, tea, coffee, bottle of processo and chocolates. The property is very spacious and very comfortable. Short walk to Mumbles and the bays. Thank you

The property

Resting in Newton close to the coast of Swansea is this unique converted chapel, Oystermouth Chapel.

Brimming with character and quirky features, the property welcomes a group of six and two well-behaved dogs to explore South Wales from a beautiful base.

Admire the charming chapel in a peaceful setting as you park up in the off-road parking for two cars and make yourself at home.

Step inside the porch with space for coats and shoes, along with the original stone archway, ornate ceiling and pretty tiled flooring.

Open the arched, double wooden door to be welcomed by the rustic living/dining room with tall ceilings and wooden beams; a lovely spot to settle down in for the evening, whether that's for a home-cooked dinner around the dining table for six, or sinking into the sofas to watch a movie.

A beautiful grand piano welcomes the group's musician to practise their favourite songs!

Follow the little archway into the kitchen with Velux windows bringing in plenty of light, where the group's chef can make use of the oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer to rustle up tasty treats.

Mornings can be spent in the rear enclosed courtyard where the dogs can stretch their legs whilst you savour a hot cup of coffee on the outdoor seating.

Follow the steps up to a sheltered, elevated patio area with more seating space to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Oystermouth Chapel hosts three bedrooms for guests to catch their rest, including a ground-floor double with a TV, a snug twin room with wooden beams and Velux windows, and the master bedroom features a double, quaint chapel windows and an en-suite bathroom for added privacy.

In the morning, choose from the handy ground-floor shower room or the upstairs bathroom to get ready for the day ahead.
