"We had a lovely comfortable stay."
Every we need other than a microwave which made things a little hard as there was 5 of us. But really enjoyed our time there. Closest shop was about 20 minute drive into Milford haven so had to make sure we got everything we needed whilst you're there . Found a lovely pub call the lobster pot in marloes which was about five minute drive away food was beautiful also a nice little pub at the end of the road in dale but very small bar.Think it was mainly for the locals!!! Some lovely views from the cottage and we really enjoyed the coastal walks with the dog.

"Really enjoy our stays at Waters Edge and are regular visitors."
It has everything we need - great view, very comfy and relaxing and it is just like a home from home.
-
"Brilliant cottage well equipped for our stay."
The location is fabulous with lovely village close by a great pub and a cafe with a small shop if you need anything. Views from the property are outstanding couldn't fault this place at all.
-
"Beautiful location, very comfortable and everything you need is there."
It is so lovely to go to a property and find those extras like charcoal, wood, dishwasher tablets etc provided, it made the stay even more special. We would happily return
-
"Waters Edge is a beautifully kept house with a view across The Gann."
Having breakfast watching the swans is very special
-
"Great location, beautiful views, excellent facilities with the most comfortable bed I have slept in."
The storage heaters couldn’t quite cope with the winter weather, so we did have to faff around with the log burner, but a minor inconvenience at most.
-
"Can’t fault it as a property."
It has everything we need as a family - quiet location, easily accessible for my disabled husband, great places to walk my dog and a great base to explore Pembrokeshire
-
"Excellent property in a fantastic location."
Extremely well equipped, comfortable and warm. Really appreciated the supplies of logs!
-
"We really enjoyed our stay at Waters Edge - the house was well equipped, a good size for our group and the location was excellent - lovely views from the house, lots of bird watching from the property, and plenty of good walks along the coastal path to other beaches."
Dale was lovely with a good pub and bar/cafe - would highly recommend staying at Waters Edge - we would love to come back!
-
"We had a wonderful stay at Waters Edge, the house was beautiful and we immediately felt at home."
The view from the living room window is amazing. The facilities were great, everything we needed and more! We loved the big washing machine and the separate freezer was a bonus. We found it very hard to leave, Dale itself is a wonderful place to be - a pub on the beach and a cafe that serves great food made it ideal for our family. We brought our cocker Spaniel and she loved bird watching and a morning walk along the spit opposite the house. Thank you for a wonderful week!
-
"This was our third visit to Water’s Edge and this visit was just as good as our first visit."
The view from the property is beautiful, looking out over the lagoon and the sea, and it is only a couple of minutes walk on the road to reach the beach or The Gan, which Dotty, the Westie loves for walks. The back garden is also ideal for Dotty as it is secure and she loves to stand on the bank at the end of the garden and watch the cows or sheep when they are in the field at the back of the property. Often there are curlews and oystercatchers in the field too. The property is ideal for anyone who has mobility problems as there are 2 downstairs bedrooms, a toilet and separate shower room and is equipped with everything you could need.

"Beautiful house with absolutely stunning view."
Ideally situated for exploring that area of Wales.

"Really enjoyed our stay at waters edge."
The location is excellent. The facilities at the house were very good. Very comfortable. All the amenities were good and wifi was great. The evening use of the log fire was great feature. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Would certainly recommend. We spent every evening walking around the local lake and seashore opposite the house bird watching. Local walks around the marloes were stunning. Marloes beach is well worth a visit at low tide. Best local pub we found was the Castle at Littlehaven. The local cafe at Dale was good. Both very dog friendly. Very lucky with great weather.

"Absolutely fabulous property."
Well maintained. Clean. Good facilities. Great garden. Quiet. Stunning location. Glorious view. 2 min walk to the nearest beach, and 10 mins to Dale where there is another beach, rentals for kayaking/ SUP/ boats etc. Griffin and Coco Brasserie both do great food. Westdale beach short walk away for more secluded sunbathing & swimming. Lots of nearby walks to explore Pembrokeshire. We’d love to come back!!

"The cottage is in a superb location watching the birds in the lagoon fantastic."
Watching my husband trying to catch fish priceless. The cottage has everything you would need for a week away. Didn’t travel far but the Lobster Pot in Marloe was nice for meals. Many beaches in area are hard to access but Broad Haven and Litttle haven are lovely.

"One of the front door keys hardly works!"
Otherwise a lovely cottage in all respects.
-
"The house was better than we expected."
Super clean and tidy. Wonderful views and location. Warm and cosy especially with the wood burner going in the evenings. Would love to return and happy to recommend.

"All you could need for a restful relaxing bird watching right on your door step Hoiladay ."
We all loved it thank you .
-
"Lovely cottage by the side of sea."
well equipped, everything was perfect.
-
"Fabulous location."
Lots of walks straight from the door. Kitchen well equipped. Great to have plenty of fridge/freezer space when feeding six hungry people. Sleeping for six adults comfortably. Also with enough eating and relaxing space for us to not feel on top of each other. We loved it!
-
"We absolutely loved this place, it was perfect for our family of four plus our cocker spaniel, who loved laying in front of the fire."
The rooms were spotless, plenty of space, the bedrooms were a good size and upstairs was fab, with the balcony, the views out the back are lovely with an occasional visit from the cows, the water views from the front are lovely. We do not have a single negative comment about this property. The location is perfect with lots of places to visit which are all within an hours drive, some walking distance too, the beaches are spectacular, we were reluctant to leave but we will be back again next autumn and would 100% rebook Waters Edge. Thank you.

"Super place, an issue dealt with very promptly by the owner"
-
"Waters Edge was a fabulous place to stay in: great location overlooking the estuary, with fantastic variety of birds to see along the walkway there."
The house was very comfortable, and views from the top windows, including the night sky, were fabulous, and great to have the garden too. Water activities at Dale, with cafe, great restaurant at the yacht club, and pub meals. More great food options at the new quay area in Milford Haven. Walking in the area is glorious, beaches are stunning. Owners were very helpful by email.

"We enjoyed staying this lovely property, with superb views and good location for water sports the owner was helpful and responsive to my questions, it was tastefully decorated, beds comfortable, all the facilities are in good except my adult family complained about the Mira showers."
Because of low water pressure they run scalding hot then freezing cold if another tap is used. With 6 people staying this happened frequently. No bath despite the upper bathroom being extremely spacious. This would have made up for the poor showers. However we still thought about rebooking for next summer... until we saw the price had gone up by almost £1000 a week!!!!! This is blatant profiteering from the pandemic and is scandalous. Instead we've booked another property which you also advertise and hiked up the prices, but we found it on another site where the price was £800 less. So no I won't book with Sykes again and will not recommend you.

Just please be aware that the small cupboard in the master bedroom fitted out as a small wardrobe had cobwebs in dust in it, other than that, the place the place was clean and tidy and comfortable and had excellent views across the Gam

"Beautiful setting, wonderful views."
Everything we could have wanted for a perfect week away in Pembrokeshire. Can’t wait to go back.
-
"Lovely holiday cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay near the sea Really enjoyed y morning coffee looking out at a stunning view The Beaches and walks here in Pembrokeshire are second to none ."
Spent many hours walking With my dog Love to return next year

"This is a really lovely house in a beautiful setting."
Very comfortable , my grandson (17) liked the snug which gave him more space away from us. We had a great time even with all the Covid restrictions. The Griffin pub provided a good meal outside seated well apart and Coco the brasserie offered take away . We had to cook more ourselves because of keeping away from crowds and the facilities were good in the house, two fridges and a freezer was really helpful since food shops are quite a way. We could walk the dog for miles and had a great family holiday.
-
"Waters Edge is a lovely little cottage in a fabulous location."
It has everything you need for a really cosy stay in Pembrokeshire and we really enjoyed ourselves. It’s warm and toasty with the log burner in the evenings and waking up to the view across the estuary and the sound of birdsong all around is wonderful. We will definitely be returning.
-
"Great well equipped cottage."
-
"We have had a fantastic week!"
The cottage is well equipped, comfy, clean and cosy. The cottage is really well set out, spacious for family time but also with quiet spaces. And of course the views are superb. Anybody renting this cottage needs to ensure they read the owners instructions especially relating to the heating and recycling. And food shopping has to be thought about with big shops at haverfordwest being 20-25 mins away. We would definitely return here.
-
"What a fantastic location."
No problems with heating. Owner very friendly and available on phone and email. The restaurants and cafe's in the area all catering for coeliacs. Although the Griffin closing soon until Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed our quiet and relaxing break. Look forward to returning.
-
"Cottage has a wonderful position looking out to sea and not many yards from an easy walk on the coast path."
Beds very comfortable, plenty of crockery etc and good instructions from owner. My one grouse was the heating. We didn't have good weather, the storage radiators had not been on and when on were not enough to heat the lounge in the evening. There was a wood burner, very good , but not too exciting for my generation whose childhood was spent lighting and sitting round fires. A bit like hard work. Lovely in warmer weather I am sure.

"Would like to go back."

"Water's edge was a perfect Holiday Cottage for us."
The views over the estuary were stunning and the location, just inside Dale was perfect. We took my 87 year old father with us who managed well in the downstairs bedroom with bathroom just off the kitchen. Our dog was safe and secure in the rear garden and our car was off street on the driveway. Full explanations on the cottage and surroundings were left inside Water's Edge, along with a vast choice of DVD's found in the snug, extra TV room and Netflix on the lounge TV. Kitchen was very well equipped and waste disposal well explained. Thank you so much to Leslie, the owner for his contact while we stayed and for the excellent service from Sykes Holidays. "Fab place, Great views, ideal location, the Griffin and Coco’s do excellent food."
-
"Great location, lovely garden with tables and chairs and balcony."
Lovely view Great to have extra fridge and space to store things. Extra sofa bed came in handy as one son wanted his own room. Shower rooms are described as bathrooms but there’s no bath. I would have loved a bath after a long walk or our very chilly 5 hr fishing trip. Quite clean but bit of mould and grime here and there ( I’m fussy). I would consider this house again especially if they got a bath in upstairs! ☺️
Thank you for your feedback and your comments about the property. Although sofa bed exists it is not advertised for use within the property and as such is not made up. The cottage sleeps six people and has enough proper beds to accommodate six. We dont have any baths and have never implied we have any. Our bathrooms are beautifully designed shower rooms. We have no plans to add a bath to the cottage as these rooms function very well and are correctly advertised on the property description. There is no mold and grime in the property. Our cleanliness feedback is always 100% from our guests. We have a very dedicated cleaning company who ensure that the cottage is cleaned thoroughly on changeover. If there were any issues during your stay we do make ourselves available to deal with you at anytime. At the top of our email we make it clear that we should be contact if you have any issues. We weren't notified of any problems during your holiday and if we had been, this would have been dealt with straight away. Property Owner

About the location
DALE
Marloes 1.1 miles; St Ishmaels 3.5 miles; Milford Haven 8.9 miles; Haverfordwest 12.1 miles.
The village of Dale is situated in a sheltered bay, on the Marloes Peninsula, within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Situated on the Pembrokeshire coastal path and designated a SSSI, Dale also attracts birdwatchers and ramblers. Both West Dale beach ad the Gann are within walking distance from the village. During the 18th century, the village produced ale which was then exported to Liverpool and then from the 18th to the early part of the 20th century, Dale was used to transfer limestone and coal. Today, Dale is known for its watersports and has a pub serving food, a shop, a café, a restaurant and a fort. Dale is a favourite with windsurfers and yachtsmen due to its sheltered harbour within the Milford Haven waterway. There is a busy watersports hire centre with the Boathouse cafe attached and the pontoon for tying up small craft or trying out crabbing skills. The yacht club is open to all and has both a cafe and the Moorings restaurant. The pub, The Griffin Inn, has won awards for its seafood, all caught locally. Just one mile away is the village of Marloes which has a pub, The Lobster Pot, a small café and a shop. The spectacular beaches and rocky coves around Marloes are well-known for many historic shipwrecks, caused by the treacherous seas surrounding Skokholm Island, just off the coast. Marloes Sands, a National Trust beach with spectacular geology is certainly worth a visit, as is Skomer Island, where you can take a boat trip to view its 6,000 pairs of puffins and 120,000 pairs of Manx Shearwaters. Within reach is the small town of Milford Haven with a picturesque marina, unique shops, galleries, tea rooms and restaurants, along with the award-winning Torch Theatre. Also close by is Haverfordwest, the county town of Pembrokeshire with quaint little gift shops, pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and a vibrant night life. Haverfordwest sits at the mouth of the River Cleddau and with its castle, museum and large leisure complex it is a great day out for all the family. Dale is an ideal base for exploring this part of South Wales.
