  • "We are quite elderly and not as agile as we used to be."

This cottage is not a place for people like us with its narrow, steep staircase with two sharp turns and deep risers. There is also a deep step from the kitchenette to the front room. However the place was spotless and upstairs the bath [shower] room and the bedroom are very nice with an efficient shower and comfortable bed. Downstairs the front room, which is entered directly from the street, is quite dour and would benefit from some bright soft furnishings or pictures. Surprisingly, there is little noise from the road. There is no microwave in the cottage which is a significant omission.

Cottage spotless and outstanding shower would highly recommend already rebooking done for September.Lori the contact who runs the cottage is extremely helpful person who we met on arrival nothing was to much trouble. One of the best properties we have been on holidays.

Thank you for your lovely feedback Stephen. I will pass your comments on to Lori, she is an invaluable member of our team! Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely and cosy but roomy enough for a couple with a dog."

Well equipped and extras appreciated, e.g. Welsh cakes, tea bags, milk on arrival etc. Well situated for exploring the Brecon Beacons with the added advantage of a canal running through the town for towpath walks. One maintenance issue reported to Lori which was fixed immediately.

  • "We had an amazing time at The Cwtch."

The kitchen is small and we have everything we need to prepare our lunchs/dinners. The only thing we found difficult, was parking. The parking space provided is really tight (we had a pegout 308) and for us it was really difficult to park (it's in the main road of Gilwern and to park you need to stop the traffic).

Thank you for your feedback. Parking in the area is always an issue so we had to make the best use of the space that we have. We hope it won't deter you from coming again. Property Owner

  • "Wonderfully compact and well equipped!"

The decor is beautiful and cleaning was to a very high standard. The kitchen had everything you could think to need. Lori was on hand if needed and kept us updated. Pubs, shop and chippy on the doorstep (worth noting that the Beaufort opposite does not allow dogs inside). It is also worth noting that the road is quite loud at night if you are a light sleeper. The cottage itself is perfect and a great set up for a couple with or without a dog. Thank you for a wonderful stay, definitely recommend!

Thank you for your detailed positive review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

  • "The Cwtch was very well appointed and although small had everything I needed."

Unlike some holiday lets this place gives you the impression that it is very much cared for. The location was excellent with parking particularly appreciated. The canal was only a few minutes walk away with great scenery and countryside near by. The bus stops were literally seconds from the front door. All in all I would very much recommend “The Cwtch”.
