  • "Flat 2 was an excellent place to stay and was clean comfortable and warm."

Probably among the best equipped holiday lets I have stayed in. The parking and access were very good and it’s only a few minutes walk to the centre of town. It was good to have a great view of the castle from the living room window. As the owners did not provide a direct means of contact I will pass on the following information here:- Heater in second bedroom not working. Extractor fan in bathroom not working. There are possibly issues with drainage from basin and shower in the en suite

  • "This 2 bedroom (1 ensuite) flat is clean and well presented."

It was very comfortable with everything we needed. The parking space was clearly marked and directly opposite the entrance door and under cover. The flat is on the ground floor right by the river and has stunning views of Pembroke Castle and is minutes from the town. I was concerned that it might be noisy as people can walk right past the windows following a footpath to the Castle Pond which is frequented by dog walkers but it was very quiet and peaceful. An ideal location for exploring the area and for walking the coastal path. Pembroke as a town has little to offer other than the Castle and a quaint museum but is a good base for exploring the area. Tenby, a walled town with many of the walls in tact is vibrant with a good range of independent shops and cafes and the town beaches and harbour are well worth a visit as is the Tudor House. Quiet, tranquil sandy beaches are easily accessed and Fishguard is worth a visit for the harbour and the coastline.

  • "Lovely modern apartment with everything you need."

Nice to have welcome tea and coffee tray after a long journey. Very comfortable beds. Handy allocated parking. We never found the outside bins as these weren't mentioned in the property information folder. We had been putting our rubbish in a business bin until the last day until I noticed a key hanging up in the kitchen area! Central location in town overlooking Pembroke Castle. Nice for river walks and a stone's throw from two pubs. Sofa can only accommodate 2 people but there are 2 easy chairs. A second small sofa would be more comfortable for 4 people, but might be an issue due to the size of the lounge area. We had a lovely time staying at the apartment.

  • "Shame about the skip outside of window, slight internet issue that was sorted very promptly, lovely situated property with fantastic views, ideal for a couple or small family."

If coming back to the area we would definitely consider staying here again!

Thank you for your lovely feedback, apologies about the skip, the council planned some work we were unaware off but this has now been removed. We are so glad to know you would come back and visit us again! We welcome your return. Property Owner

  • "The flat was very comfortable and had everything we needed, including luxurious towels."

It was in a great location for exploring Pembrokeshire. However we encountered several problems - 1. The directions took us to the wrong road, the flat is not in Croft Court! We spent 30 minutes in the freezing cold and rain looking for Flat 2 and our designated parking space, there were plenty of flats around (we looked at them all!) but not ours! Eventually we decided to find the river and search from there, which is how we discovered another small road with flats plus parking spaces. 2. The main reason I chose this flat was for the fantastic view of Pembroke Castle from the lounge windows. Imagine my horror when I entered the lounge to find filthy windows, a big skip full of earth and a big yellow JCB digger parked right outside the windows! It gets worse, after the weekend there were also two workmen there plus their vehicles! We read the planning notice attached to the railings and realise that the work was lasting several weeks longer than estimated, but surely we should have been informed that the lovely view would be totally obscured during our stay? After all, the view is a major selling point for this flat. We were dreadfully disappointed, especially after a long drive in miserable weather and no heating! 3. It was a freezing cold and wet day and we could not turn the radiators on. The instructions said turn dials to 'on', but there is no 'on'! With the help of Shirley we found the boiler controls in the cupboard which were set to come on at 19.45, so we changed the setting so that we could have the heating on as and when needed. I feel the controls should have been left on a different setting, more suitable for winter. I had to make three separate calls to Sykes with these problems. I feel the instructions should be amended, especially as I’d seen on previous feedbacks that other people had trouble finding the flat and the recycling area. Thankfully after three wet days the rest of our stay had better weather and once we’d overcome our initial problems, we had a good holiday.

Thank you for your feedback, we ae very sorry about the issue with the workmen and digger, this was set up by the council and we were unaware these were taking place until advised by yourself. we can confirm that all of their works are complete. We appreciate you highlighting these other issues to us and we will work to ensure that these are rectified for future guests. Kind regards Property Owner

Not a criticism but it would have been useful to have a small shelf inside the en-suite shower to rest soap/shower gel etc. especially as I did have a nasty fall whilst out and about and was unable to bend. Overall my husband and I were very happy with the apartment.

  • "A fairly modern apartment with views across the water to the lovely Pembroke Castle."

Very close to the town centre and covered under-croft parking space-a real bonus but this also meant the entrance to the apartments was a little dingy. Being on the ground floor meant that when having the French doors open the frequent passers by were within touching distance. A reasonably equipped property but some detractions eg. Broken bin with no lid in kitchen, no instructions for washing machine, even though the welcome guide said they were under the sink, no dishwasher tablets-first time encountered in many Sykes lettings. Several cups so badly stained internally it required two cycles of the dishwasher to clean them. Couldn’t close the curtains in the living area as their considerable weight was pulling the curtain rail from the wall. No baking trays/ roasting tins and out of date biscuits left by the kettle. Also beware for people with low slung cars there is a large ridge at the entrance to the car park due to the slopes which caused scraping of mud flaps etc. Overall the positives counter balanced the negatives to give a realistic 3/5 star rating.

  • "The apartment was clean and well appointed (although we did find an A4 piece of paper with a child’s drawing from a previous occupant by the sofa on the living room floor), the beds were comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the wonderful view of the Castle."

The location was perfect, lovely sunny weather, lovely walks from the doorstep and the town just a stroll away. We were disappointed to find that the advertised ‘first floor flat’ was actually on the ground floor. It would have been useful to have had a little more information on arrival regarding the location of the entrance door and key. We struggled to find the actual door (tucked away at the back of the accommodation in the car park) and the key safe was quite difficult to open. Unfortunately, there were a number of maintenance issues. • Microwave. Turntable doesn’t turn and heating not evenly distributed. • Bath. The plug doesn’t fit and allows water to run away freely. We like to have a bath, sadly not possible during our stay. • Light switches. We counted at least six switches which don’t work / not connected? • French door. We enjoyed nice sunny weather during our stay and tried to open the doors for some air (the only source of air in the room), but they were stuck and took some effort to release as the bolt was rusted. • Clocks. There are two clocks, but neither working! We feel an information sheet with instructions on how to operate the appliances and heaters should have been available. We had not encountered these heaters before and weren’t sure how they worked. Also, information about the location of the outside rubbish/recycling bins (we searched the car park and eventually discovered them in an unmarked cupboard) with the applicable collection days. Surely this is the normal procedure for holiday lets, rather than ‘post-it’ notes in various places. We are obviously not aware how often Sykes inspect the properties on their books, but it would seem in this case no check has been carried out for some time. We did enjoy our stay, but the above issues have made us question whether to use Sykes Holidays in the future, and it’s doubtful we would recommend the company.

Thank you for your feedback, we are really sorry to hear you encountered these issues. However we are perplexed as dozens of guests have holidayed at the property and have never raised any of these issues. The property is regularly inspected. I trust you raised your concerns to Sykes whilst you were at the property. Best wishes Property Owner
