  • "Cottage was exactly as described, very small and very quirky."

Very good bathroom and kitchen facilities. Comfortable bed and we slept really well. Great location on the edge of the town, a very short walk to many pubs and eateries. Owners were pleasant and welcoming.

A little confused by the feedback which suggests that the cottage is, ‘…exactly as described…’ and yet the rating given for accuracy of listing is 75%? Similarly with the other comments and categories. Irrespective of this, the positive remarks have been received with thanks and it is good to know that the stay was successful. Property Owner

  • "A limit of 10 minutes hot water when showering etc then waiting 4\5 hours for tank to heat up, is poor in this day and age."

Similarly a TV that functions properly is a simple need. With the log fire lit the cottage is a cosy place to relax. Staircase not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.

The cottage is 16th century and limited in space. The electric water tank fitted is the maximum size that we have been able to utilise in a listed building, due to beams and sloping ceilings, and also lack of gas. We always advise guests of this issue but on this occasion, were informed that one of the guests had a penchant for x2 showers per day…there was nothing more we could do to meet this requirement. The Sony television has not been an issue before but unfortunately a previous guest ‘borrowed’ the remote control and an alternative replacement has proven insufficient. I guess this means we will have to purchase a new tv at some point or remove it totally. The staircase is a traditional oak staircase and again, had to be an authentic replacement for the original. The cottage is unsuitable for anyone of limited mobility due to age and lack of space generally - this is clearly specified within the listing…although we are reliably informed that the original inhabitants in this one-up/one-down, included a family of nine.
