  • "Lovely location, quiet and relaxing."

One misleading factor is picture showing garden all opened up thinking you can use this space but when we arrived there was a fence accross it and was informwd it was the owners space which was dissapointing as the space we were allowed was small and needed cleaning up and grass needed cutting. The lady owner didnt show her face at all.. There is lots of wasps in the small garden space and loads of them outside upstairs bathroom window.. i was stung a few times on the one occasion we tried to sit down outside but quickly retreated inside. Patio needs a good clean and walls are green and mouldy around patio area, not pleasant at all.

Thank you for your feedback, it's always appreciated. With regard to the picture of the garden, it was take when we had gates under the arch and were left open by Sykes to show a better view of the patio. We have since replaced these with a removable fence (for safety) as guests were using the larger garden to exercise their dogs. Unfortunately some owners are not as observant as others and we were finding that they had not picked up after their dog. We do tell guests that they are free to exercise their dogs in the 3 acres of grassland elsewhere on the property. During your stay my wife was unwell and that is why you did not see her. We are a bit surprised that you encountered wasps at this time of year as many of them have died off by the time you were staying with us. We have checked the area and there are no wasps nests in the vicinity. However the Honeysuckle in the patio area does attract many Honey Bees which do not tent to be bothered by people unless they are being annoyed. The patio gets cleaned once a year at the beginning of the season and the green you saw in the area is moss and not mould. This is caused by the damp conditions due to the abnormally wet summer. • "Lovely quiet rural location, ideal for those moments of tranquillity."

We found Spring Cottage to be both clean and comfortable, I did read some reviews before we came, and found comments about beds and bedding far to subjective, people like and dislike different things, as far as we were concerned the bed and bedding was exactly to our requirements. Overall would have no hesitation in recommending Spring Cottage to any of our family or friends.

Has everything: fully equipped; clean; really comfortable; very spacious; quiet (apart from the occasional chicken or cow if you listen carefully!) Welcome pack of delicious jam; welsh cakes and eggs a nice touch. Idyllic. Plenty of beaches, castles and places to see in the area. We would definitely visit again!

  • "Spring Cottage is a lovely place to stay."

It is pretty, very thoughtfully and well equipped, clean, comfortable and in a good location not too far from the coast and many other attractions. This might be just a personal thing, but for me I would prefer cotton bedding, a really good quality duvet and a nicer mattress (for a more comfy night) but that would be my only improvement except perhaps a different front of cottage lay-out to make it feel more secluded, but perhaps this is too picky as Spring cottage is really quite enchanting and we enjoyed our holiday there.

  • "What can I say- we love peace and quiet and we got it in spades!"

, Spring Cottage is owned by a lovely couple who have provided an oasis of calm, be aware though-you will have to drive, its roughly 1/2 hour to the coast and if you have a dog then we recommend Traith or Pembryn-get there early and you will find them empty and great for that morning run. We had great fish and chips in New Quay at the Lime Crab, Tescos in Cardigan (1/2 Hr) is well stocked, we didn't try any local eateries but a relative who lives locally has recommended the Bunch of Grapes in Newcastle Emlyn(15 mins), We will be booking next year and cant wait to return.

The riverside was absolutely fantastic very accommodating for the dog would recommend that new key was lovely unfortunately sea was in and it was a cold day, but very well worth the visit. We were left wanting for nothing at all really - the owners have really put thought into helping guests have an enjoyable holiday experience. The location is also good if you prefer sticking to main roads as the A484 and A486 are very close by with only a short distance down a lane needed to reach the farm itself, and there is a large Nisa in Llandysul just 5 minutes away. One of my all-time favourite UK-based holidays. Thank you :)

  • "When we arrived arrived, there was a lovely little welcome pack, which was greatly appreciated."

The cottage was large and so well equipped, they had thought about everything. It was very cosy. The outlook is very pretty from the front and back of the cottage. Paul and Julie are a really nice couple who own it. Unfortunately I was really poorly with a chest infection, the whole time we were there. So we couldn't really do anything. It also rained most of our stay, which didn't help,as we couldn't get out and about. The only small things they could improve on are -: The property is looking a bit tired in places were it could do with a fresh lick of paint. Also the toilets have an unpleasant smell coming from them, as if the drains need cleaning. Toilet freshner's may help. And the last thing is, the main bedroom, has a very noisy floor. So creeping out of bed at night to go the toilet was not an option. All in all it is a beautiful place to stay, and we would definitely stay there again. It is very quiet and tranquil. Oh yes and the Chickens are lovely and so happy

Paul and Julie were very attentive and sorted out a couple of things for us very quickly. Lovely and quiet and lots of wildlife to enjoy. Highlight for us was to see a hedgehog. The Rooster likes to start early in the morning but we soon got used to him. Really enjoyed the two different outside tables as we could choose according to the sun where we sat out. We were looking for somewhere quiet and secluded to get away from the hustle and bustle and we were not disappointed. The property itself was easy to find following the instructions given. We were greeted by the owners upon arrival which we really appreciated. Inside the cottage you will find anything you could possibly need and more. There were so many small touches that really showed how much the owners care about their guests. From the fresh eggs, milk and jam, to the useful handbook containing local recommendations, appliance instructions and much more. As we stayed in early March, we made good use of the log burner in the lounge and we were pleased to find wood and kindling for a good price at the local garage as recommended in the property handbook. We were very appreciative of the sturdy stair gates both at the top and the bottom of the stairs as well as children's cutlery and tableware which we weren't expecting. We had requested a cot however, our daughter slept in the twin room as we butted the beds together and she slept better than she does at home! The master bed was incredibly comfy and my husband and I slept very well. The cottage was immaculately presented and we will definitely be returning in the future. We couldn't fault our stay whatsoever and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the Welsh countryside.

The information booklet provides all the necessary manuals to utilise appliances as well as providing what’s available within the cottage and attractions in the surrounding areas. These are listed with their SatNav addresses as well as approximate drive times to each destination. On the dining room table was a small starter kit of sugar, milk, Welsh cakes, tea and treats for the dog. The venue also provided cleaning materials, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, soap and disinfectant to use as needed.  A quirky layout which was more spacious than what we expected from the photos - though online these where true to view. You enter the property at the “laundry” room. This is also where the shower and toilet is located. Up the stairs takes you into the kitchen and dining area. Through a set of doors into the lounge with the stairs up to the bedrooms. These are baby gated so that no pets allowed upstairs. On the upper level is the double bedroom, twin bedroom and bathroom with bath. We had a lovely stay at Spring Cottage. Had it been available we would certainly have extended for another week to explore the area a bit more. Speaking of area..... majority of attractions and places close down in winter, only re-opening in April. As we were there during half-term, we did expect more places to be open than what was to be honest. So double check online if there are must see place you want to attend. Also, many places seem to have closed down since Covid-19 .... so be aware of that too. Carmarthen is about a 35 min drive from cottage. New Quay about 25 min. Tenby just over an hours drive. As per the listing - There is absolutely no WiFi at Spring Cottage... neither was there any mobile coverage (even though we did check with our providers which said there was). That being said - you can purchase an EE pay as you go package and that provided us with 4G signal, thanks to the tower being nearby. I would suggest getting this pre to arriving in the area.
