We had a lovely stay here as I was away for work but gave a nice homely feeling for my wife our 3month old and her mam to come away with me too Close to local amenities and plenty to do in the surrounding area Would stay here again either personally for a proper holiday home or as a base for working down this way again too

Thanks for your lovely review. It’s very much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "We arrived on a Saturday & everything was ready for us."

The house is large, bright & clean. The kitchen has every utensil you can wish for right down to an electric whisk. There are drink glasses for all occasions & there was an ice bucket too. The bed in the main bedroom is a double not a king-size as noted in the listing, but that bed was very comfortable, so much so that we didn't miss our own. Toothbrush holders would be useful in the bathrooms. There were 2 good, strong fast hairdryers available, which aren't mentioned in the listing, so another positive. The driveway is large & there is a cut-through to the street at the rear making shops, takeaways & train station easily reachable. The street was very clean & peaceful. There is no need to recycle your rubbish. The owners pay for a great service to do that, so everything goes in the kitchen bin & then the bags go in the outside bin. All in all a great house, location to amenities works & you can walk to Saundersfoot from the house. There is a farm shop loctaed on the A478 heading towards Tenby. It sells a very wide variety of fruit & veg There were also cakes, pies, cider and other goodies. I just wish we had found it earlier and that there was something like that closer to home. If you go to Saundersfoot, then the Harbwr bar & kitchen serves a great Welsh Cawl & chips to die for. In Tenby try Ronniz's Lounge and try the steak & Eggs, just gorgeous. We had a great time, the weather let us down but all the lovely Welsh people we met made up for that.

Thanks for your very positive review which is very much appreciated, we have tried our best to make our holiday home literally a “ home from home” experience. Your comment re Toothbrush holders is a great idea and we will add those immediately. We have recently corrected the Sykes website listing to state it’s a double not king size bed in main bedroom. As for the welsh weather, that’s one we can’t do much about unfortunately . Property Owner

It was very well equipped throughout, everything was in good working order. It’s well heated for the cooler evenings. We were extremely comfortable. We would happily return.

Thanks for your lovely review. We have tried our best to make this property a “ home from home” for our holiday guests, although it does help that the property is a 2023 new build home . We would love to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

It’s is the perfect set up for a family getaway to explore the surrounding areas. So many places to visit! The house had everything needed to accommodate very little ones and furry companions which made our trip so stress free. Every little detail has been well thought out so we could spend a day relaxing in the house and cooking some good family meals. We can’t wait to return back next year!

  • "Overall the property was lovely- well presented and in a good location for exploring Pembrokeshire."

I would like to note that we expected two towels per person as it said they were included; only one was provided per person and it was a bath towel so not really adequate for anyone other than littler children. The living room was able to accommodate five people at a push- maybe some extra seating to comfortably seat six would be beneficial.

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your time at our property. We have noted your comment re towels and will address for future guests ( if you had let us know during your stay about this we could have had our cleaner to call to give you additional towels ) . We have also ordered new additional living room furniture Property Owner

  • "The house was very well equipped, and very much suited our needs for the week."

The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. It was a quiet area and a good location for exploring the Pembrokeshire area. We were impressed with the quick response to us locking ourselves out and the quick resolution, we appreciated this so thank you. The only reason for 4/5 feedback, I’m sure it’s not the first time this has been mentioned but the door was a nuisance albeit easier once you got the hang of it. And we found the TV was a little high on the wall for prolonged watching (we probably only noticed this because it was the Olympics so had the tv on more than we would normally), alongside limited seating to comfortably seat 4 adults and 2 children. Aside from those areas of feedback, we would recommend the property for anyone wanting to explore the area but not wanting to pay crazy prices for staying in the more well known coastal towns. Plus Kilgetty has a great fish and chip shop!

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at our holiday home - and we were more than happy to help when you locked yourself out Property Owner

A fantastic house in a quiet residential area, wonderfully clean and equipped. Not having to sort the recycling (it’s done for you) was a bonus and a throwback to the olden days! Beds and bathrooms were lovely and comfortable, and the location is superb for the South Pembrokeshire coast. An extra special thank you to the hosts who were super helpful and prompt when communicating beforehand. Diolch o galon!!

  • "Not all the details of this property on Sykes website were correct."

It was advertised as having a king sized bed (5ft) when in fact it was only a basic double (4'6"). Had we known this we would have never have booked it. Because the bed was not up to standard, I had to spend the week - our holiday - in a separate bedroom in a single bed. Unless you are a fan of 100% polyester bedding I suggest you take your own duvet covers and pillow cases as these make for very uncomfortably warm nights. We have contacted the owner about the above who blamed Sykes for any error on the bed size, stating he didn't know what size it was. A welcome pack consisted of a packet of welsh cakes and a pint of milk. The milk was past its use by date before we arrived ! The cleanliness in the 2 bathrooms ie the plugs in the sinks and the bathroom shower screen seal needed attention(as advised to owner). It is important that Sykes make clear for all future bookings, including those already made, that the main bed is only a 4'6" double and not a king size as currently incorrectly advertised.

As I have advised to you several times since you messaged me on the day you departed about the bed size that this was a genuine error in it’s description which I have sincerely apologised for. I have already asked Sykes to change its website description You also didn’t raise any of the others points you make until after you departed , giving us no time for our professional cleaner to resolve for you during your holiday I also note that you have omitted in your review to highlight that you have also been quite persistent since you departed for a substantial refund for your holiday, which I rejected as it was totally unreasonable. I will say no more and just assume the unfair feedback rating scores you have given my small family business is just your response to this decision. Property Owner

Many walks straight from door to Wiseman’s bridge and Saundersfoot and short train rides to Tenby and Pembroke. Others have mentioned door but as soon as you realise how it works it’s simple. Only thing I didn’t like was no recycling… putting all rubbish in normal bin seemed wrong so we brought all ours home! Other than that I would highly recommend and not hesitate in rebooking again.

Thanks for your review, it’s very much appreciated and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay . I can confirm that the rubbish is taken away and sorted/recycled by our Refuge collectors as part of the service they provide. I will add a comment to our guest book at the house highlighting this fact when I next call n there Property Owner

  • "The holiday home had everything you needed for your stay , excellent local amenities and close to the tourist destinations ."

The front door is hard to use so used the back door all week , the recycling bin outside needed emptying from the previous guest so was a slight smell outside and the lawn could have done with a cut so didn’t use the garden but they was only minor issues. It would be nice if on arrival there was some local products has a welcoming gift .

Thanks for your feedback and we are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at our newly built holiday home. Regarding your comments , I hope the response below helps:- I) Front Door - we have recently had it fully serviced. II) Recycling bin - we use a registered Waste removal company to empty the bin at the end of our guests stay. As we were abroad on hols during the week before your stay, I forgot to tell the Waste removal company that the bin needed emptying. My fault , and I can only apologise for this . Iii) Lawn - we use a professional gardener to cut the lawn every few weeks. He literally cut the lawn the Monday after you departed. Iv) local produce on arrival - Our professional cleaner should leave some local welshcakes and fresh milk for our guests. If these were not present when you arrived, I can only apologise for this oversight. Property Owner

Lovely touch with providing milk and cake. Everything was there what was needed. A parasol would be handy for the outside furniture. Only downside was the towels were marked although they were washed. One had a makeup stain, another had some brown staining unsure what it was and the other towel had bleach stains. Not very nice to see and use. The hover was full and the mop bucket was broken so could not use it mop the floor. The front door was not friendly to use. The toilets did not flush very well on a single flush, had to hold both buttons down. When stripping down one of the single beds noticed there was staining on the mattress possibly blood.

  • "Lovely house, only thing missing was a washing line … airer provided but this was not really big enough for towels after beach trips."

Biggest problem really was accessibility… the front door was a fire hazard as very very difficult to open from indoors ( and also from outdoors) despite following instructions it always took numerous attempts to open. In a fire this would be very dangerous. Otherwise a beautiful home, very comfy… was great for kids to have access to their Netflix and Disney wtc… loved the 70s games.. nice touch! Double and twin Beds were soooo comfy. Bunks prob more suitable just for younger pre teen children… maybe this was mentioned in the property details and I missed it? All in all a great location and comfy accommodation.

The rural village of Kilgetty is situated 2.4 miles from one of the most picturesque villages in Pembrokeshire, Cresswell Quay is best described as a delightful hamlet of scattered cottages at the edge of the tidal estuary. The central focal point is, of course, the old quay where boats can still moor, for the time the tide allows, and you may wish to pop into the Cresselly Arms for light refreshments. Just a short drive from the town of Tenby and offers a selection of shops and pubs, along with its own train station. Kilgetty is central to a number of attractions, with the coastal resorts of Saundersfoot and Tenby nearby, offering fabulous beaches, watersports and boat trips to Caldey Island, the home of a small gathering of monks and their monastery.
