  • "A great week in such a beautiful property."

It was perfect for a family gathering with a large communal space but also lots of bedrooms/bathrooms for everyone to have their own space. It’s practical with wood flooring/ leather furnishings so pet friendly and easy to keep clean. Wet room is great. The location was perfect if you have a car and I walked into Laugharne with the dogs. We’d jump at the chance to stay again. Loved the back courtyard, although our mini cockapoo could jump the wall, and if it had a private area of grass for the dogs it would have been perfect. We kept dogs on the leads out in grassy area out of respect as it is a shared area. That wouldn’t put us off coming back at all though. Friendly and welcoming owner and really well equipped.

Thank you so much for your feedback Tracy, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Take care Andrew Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful stay we had at The Mill and Stable ."

Our party was 3 generations and the accommodation afforded us all the comfort and space to enjoy. Our doggies thought so too. Being disabled myself, I really appreciated the ground floor twin with adjoining wet room and also the ease of manoeuvrability around the ground floor lounge and kitchen diner area. . It was all really clean, with cream bed linen and curtains and fluffy towels . We enjoyed mostly meals out (try The Carpenters in the village!) and takeaways but if you wanted to self cater the kitchen was very well equipped with everything a family would need . Grandkids were chuffed with broadband speed for all their devices and we enjoyed the smart TV access to YouTube, Netflix etc. We had a generous welcome pack of delicious Welsh cakes and biscuits from our host Andrew who could not do enough for us. Thanks Andrew, the Mill and Stable is definitely worth a return visit

Thank you so much for your lovely review Alyson and glad all the family enjoyed their stay with us. The fibre broadband went live last week and yesterday for both our properties so a massive upgrade and can cater for large groups. Take care and see you soon Property Owner

The Mill was a great family location which we all enjoyed - adults, children, grandchildren and a dog! The host Andrew was very welcoming and available to support us if we had needed it. Looking forward to going back!

  • "A well prepared and finished property."

Good communication with Andrew, the Host. Clean, tidy and no complaints. Would stay again. Beds, linen and towels all clean. Plenty of crockery, cooking utensils, mugs, kitchen in general was well appointed (dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer etc). Heating worked really well and plenty of hot water. There was a private outdoor area with picnic bench, which would no doubt be great in the summer (maybe a hot-tub later on Andrew?)

Thank you for your feedback Brian and glad you enjoyed your stay with us over easter. As you could see from your stay we are currently renovating the residential property on site so once me and my partner have moved up there from August a hot tub is on our list of priorities. A significant improvement for us in the next few weeks and the village as a whole is the upgrading of our internet to full fibre broadband from satellite, this will be massive for us as a business moving forward and from a personal view as this will become our new home. We are always grateful for any feedback good or bad so we can improve going forward. Thanks again and hope to see you soon, Andrew. Property Owner

  • "This is a very well equipped and comfortable property."

It is spacious inside and out, beds are very comfortable and has every thing you need for a short stay. There is a lot to do in the area. The property in in the middle of the countryside and next to a farm so there are lots of bugs and insects and countryside smells. The downstairs bathroom would benefit from an upgrade but it is perfectly useable. We all had a great time and we would stay again.

Hi Anthea, thank you for your review and we have taken on board feedback received and relayed this to our cleaners regards dust and grit you mentioned. I can only apologise for this issue but on the whole you mention your stay was comfortable and the property had everything you needed, we are glad you enjoyed the local area. Loved the downstairs wet room and the upstairs roll-top free standing deep bath as well as both of the upstairs bedrooms having their own attached washroom/toilet. Very ample parking and just a few minutes drive from a local supermarket plus a good number of pubs and restaurants. Very pleasant, friendly and helpful, easy to contact owner was also added reassurance. Stay here; you will love it too!

  • "Really lovely property which suited our needs, we had an amazing time."

The only improvement we could suggest was to the parking areas as 2 elderly guests used walking frames and found the uneven chippings more difficult. The path and indoor areas were fab. The disabled facilities in the cottage were very good.

Thank you for your feedback Sue and glad you had a lovely stay with us. Thank you for your feedback about the parking area and we will look at this to see if we can do anything about it. Regards Andrew Property Owner

  • "Just returned from our wonderful holiday at The Mill and Stable."

This was our second visit to the barns, having stayed at The Old Cow Barn last year. The barns are well laid out, especially for a wheelchair user. The adjustable care bed and wet room are invaluable and so difficult to find in other properties. Andrew, the owner, was very friendly and able to provide commode and shower chairs if needed, as well as hiring a hoist if required at a very reasonable price. Andrew was in touch during the week to ensure all was well (which it was). The barn, though big is very homely and warm, with all the equipment you could want for a self catering holiday. The “welcome basket “ was greatly appreciated and the bara brith and welsh cakes went down a treat with the wine provided. The barns are in a small village, up a hill as previously mentioned but with a lovely view of the countryside and the sea from the upstairs double bedroom. A car is needed but within easy access to attractions and places of interest. By car: 5 minutes from Laugharne, in one direction (small shop and few pubs) and Pendine (10 minutes) in the other ( lovely Chinese restaurant and beach), and 25 minutes from Carmarthen (big Tesco and Morrison supermarkets). Amroth is 20 minutes away (beach, shop and pubs), Saundersfoot is 25 minutes away and Tenby is 30 minutes away. Within 60-90 minutes are Swansea and the Gower and the Pembroke National Coastal Park. I would highly recommend The Mill and Stable (and The Old Cow Barn). We are already planning our return next year.

Thank you for your wonderful review Josephine and glad you liked the Mill and stable as much as the Cow barn. We really appreciate your repeat custom and look forward to seeing you again. Regards Andrew Property Owner

Only minor comment is the property is quite isolated and it is quite hill, apart from that our entire party and a great holiday.

Thank you for your review Stephen and glad you had a lovely stay with us. The properties are under new Ownership since October 2018 so we have improved nearly every aspect of the property from new bathrooms, furniture, flooring and utilities. • "The outside of the house looked a lot nicer in the pic than in reality."

The owner's adjacent home looks rundown and the outside area around the house was unappealing. However, inside the mill and stable was perfectly comfortable. It was clean enough, although we had to scrub the oven before we could use it to remove layers of cooking fat. There were a lot of flies too inside which wasn't pleasant but a hazard of being in a farming region. The only other bug bear were the external lights on the two cottages which were on sensors and flicked on and off during the night. Sleeping in the front downstairs bedroom meant that the lights flashed on and off throughout the night. Owner Ray was perfectly pleasant but it was difficult to access him at times because he has broken his hip. However, he was kind enough to arrange a kettle replacement straight after we requested one as the one in the house was clogged with limescale. We enjoyed our stay nonetheless.

Thank you for review Kate, since your stay the properties have been under new ownership from October 2018 and we have improved everything from outside areas you mention to new facilities internally (bathrooms, flooring, furniture and utilities). We are currently renovating the main farmhouse so we can live on site from June 2024 which will make the whole property much more appealing. We look forward to hopefully having you stay again with so you can see the improvements. Regards Andrew Property Owner

Llansadurnen Farm Cottages

Laugharne 1.8 miles. These two delightful barn conversions are set on the owners’ non-working farm in the small village of Llansadurnen, just less than two miles from the town of Laugharne in Pembrokeshire. These lovely holiday homes are ideal for families with plenty to see and do in the area. The larger of the two properties is The Mill and Stable, which has been converted from a grain store and stable, where horses were once kept and includes a pulley shaft in the sitting area which at one time drove the mill. The other conversion, The Old Cow Barn was as it is named a cow barn within the farmyard. Traditional in style and with character features, these cottages have everything that you need in order to enjoy a pleasant stay within this part of South Wales. Both of these charming properties are set up with wheelchair users in mind, with both having a care bed and wet room shower. The owner is also able to provide a hoist and raised chair. Both also have open plan living areas, an en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath, off road parking and shared use of a lawned garden. Close by is the town of Laugharne, which is set overlooking the Taf River Estuary, and you may wish to visit poet Dylan Thomas’ boat house and writing shed. The town also has a castle and a selection of shops and pubs. Also within reach is the sandy beach at Pendine, the seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot and the superb Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Two welcoming holiday homes in a great location.
