  • "Great house for a large group."

Having a “kids” sitting room and ample garden meant that kids had loads of space and we had lots of fun playing hide and seek. The house is well equipped with everything you would need and although remote it was easy to get out and about to explore the Welsh countryside.

  • "Beautiful House."

Lovely and peaceful clean and well kept. Plenty of seating area’s. massive fully enclosed garden safe for our two fur babies. Very close to Llandovery which has most things you will need. I’d say do a shop before you arrive if you are wanting a big shop. Local chippy is lovely and pubs very dog friendly. Lovely onsite cat too really friendly (we did give him/her some milk and chicken) owners are great very helpful and friendly too lovely welcome basket of goodies( Thank you ) you can hear the train going past but not loud and we stayed in front bedroom. Plenty of storage space for your belongings. Hot Tub was great they had it ready for our arrival which was welcome we would definitely book this again great stay x

  • "Had a lovely time at Tirallen, the house and grounds were gorgeous and plenty big enough for our group of 7 adults and 2 children."

We loved the grounds and made the most of the hot tub, BBQ and the fire pit area. The children loved the friendly on site cat who was extremely partial to a plate of milk and some cat treats. Added bonus that some of our group got to fish in the river at the end of the lane and even caught some trout. The house was extremely well equipped and we appreciated our welcome pack. Communication with Catrin, the owner was excellent.

  • "Great communication from the owner, welcome pack left on kitchen table was lovely."

The property has a charm about it, the furnishings give an insight into its past, a working farm. Local culture is displayed in the locked show cases, rugby balls cricket memorabilia and programmes from local shows (eisteddford). Six adults and two children spent a week relaxing here, using every room the hot tub was brilliant and the walks around the grounds were picturesque and productive. Lots of apples and pears as well as blackberries were foraged and eaten in pies made in the kitchen. The local cat befriended the girls and drank lots of milk! The local trains go past quickly and cause no problem with noise at all, occasionally a military plane or helicopter flew over which was a pleasant experience and local wildlife was abundant. Red kites, buzzards predominantly in the sky above and a fox could be heard in the evenings, the river has trout in it, as proved by a local fly fishermen. We really didn’t want to leave, and this was our 13th Sykes booking, we intend to be back to check out the local gold mine! Book early, we left it too late. Thanks again for a wonderful week.

  • "8 of us stayed over the weekend at Tirallen and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

There’s plenty room in the house for all and a lovely garden and hot tub, which the owner kindly topped up for us midway through our stay. Fully equipped kitchen, lovely bedrooms, and enough bathrooms to never have a queue. Really good communication with the hosts and a very friendly cat on site, loved our stay and would definitely come back again!

  • "We loved the home, one of the best well equipped homes we have stayed in."

... The owner was lovely, very helpful, lovely bottle of fizz and a card ....left for a Birthday. Lovely location, plenty of room for 10 people, clean and tidy, lovely bathrooms and nice décor... Lovely Bathrooms, very clean Be aware it is on a quiet track but it is a working farm area, the farmers were still out until 1am, kept the whole house and a baby awake, which was not fun at all.... it was very loud..so very tired people the next day..... Few things to improve, better quality bed in the pink room, it dips in the middle, and creaks a lot, it was a very poor mattress, we had to used a single mattress and put on the floor, for a higher end home, better beds please ( I am very bed fussy) they should be the best part of the house. Down stairs toilet doesn't lock and doors on cupboard are a bit tatty, 1 towel each isn't enough, for ladies, we need too, for hair and body, never had that before you always get a body and hair towel, No towels for hot tub either...

Thanks very much for your review Claire! Always useful to receive constructive criticism, let us address your concerns… It is not a working farm, the contractors only bring the silage in from the surrounding fields twice a year….unfortunate it was during your stay, most guests love to see the tractors in action! They did have to work late once due to the restricted good weather & to avoid the trains in order to cross the track safely, but you were given a heads up! First we’ve heard on the mattress….will look into it! Downstairs toilet does lock. Previous guests flooded the sink, hence the cupboards…rest assured we will be looking to replace after the busy Summer season. Shame you didn’t mention you’d like more towels during your stay….this would have been no problem at all! 1 bath sheet per person is normally sufficient for our guests but we would have been happy to provide you with more. We are glad everything else was to your liking. Best wishes.x Property Owner

Lovely stay at this property, plenty of facilities for everyone. Adults and older children made full use of the hot tub, even in the rain!!! Dogs loved the size of the garden, although not fully secure; the property was not close enough to roads to cause problems. Fantastic host who was available if needed. Would recommend to large groups.

Thanks very much for your feedback Wendy. Whole garden area is now fully secure! Property Owner

Being where it is gives you the solitude that we wanted. The dog loved being able to run round all day and we didn’t have to worry about cars and other people spoiling his fun. At the end of the day, it was great to unwind and relax in the hot tub watching the night sky. Great place to stay and hope to get back there soon.

It is a little difficult to find with Sat Nav or Goggle maps so would definitely recommend using what 3 words app which takes you up to the front door! The host Caitlin and her family were amazing. Attentive and welcoming without being too much. Any questions we had were answered promptly. The grounds of the house are amazing! Our 3 children (and dogs) loved exploring all its nook and crannies! We would definitely recommend staying here!

We loved using the hot tubs, and the host regularly checks the water quality. The communication with the host was excellent. very peaceful atmosphere here, surrounded by a former farm.
