  • "God bless Mrs Thomas we've had a wonderful holiday x"

  • "This was a very disappointing holiday as the premises were dreadful."

There were cobwebs and spiders everywhere so the property had not been cleaned for a long time. The fridge was dirty with shelving in door missing and seals disgusting. The oven was filthy, the Venus windows were filthy and when opened full of debris and cobwebs with moss on the windows. The furniture was frayed and the whole cottage smelt damp and musty, I had to get an air freshener to try to dissipate. There was no garden as advertised, no washing machine and the freezer was a filthy antique. We left this cottage a day early as I could not stay another night. If it had not been for our grandchildren I would have not stayed even for one night!!! I have photos should you wish me to send for evidence. Such a shame as the location of Wales is so lovely.

I was extremely disappointed to have read your critical review of Stable Cottage. Unfortunately I was unable to greet you upon your arrival as is my usual practice. I only became aware of your departure the following day when I went to the cottage to greet you. I am disappointed that you did not contact me directly as I live in the farmhouse opposite the cottage, only a mere 1 minute walk away. On a personal level, the review caused me great distress. I have run a successful tourism business which I started with my late husband for over 40 years. I have never experienced anything like this previously. As a grandmother myself, I am familiar with precious family gatherings and I would have done as much as possible to ensure that you had a lovely break with your family, for example, making you aware of the extensive garden and the laundry room. • "Whilst we understood the cottage was part of a working farm, we were not prepared for number of flies in the cottage!"

!! Otherwise it was a joy to hear the daily farm goings on.

Thank you very much for your kind words, we are really you enjoyed your stay, just to note, the herd of dairy cows has been removed, so the flies should no longer be an issue! We hope to see you soon. The owners Property Owner

  • "Had a very enjoyable week."

Location was very central to lots of interesting places.

  • "It provided just about everything a couple or young family would need for a rural self-catering holiday on a working dairy farm."

Nesta was available when required for advice or anything we needed, including home-made cake on arrival and replacing the towels part-way through the week. The only slight frustration was that being a barn conversion with very thick walls, the mobile signal and wi-fi inside the cottage was patchy, so I found it best to go in the porch or outside for a signal, but that in no way spoiled a lovely holiday. On the plus side, the thick walls ensured that the cottage stayed cool through a spell of very hot weather.
