"This was a great find and we were very pleased with our stay."
Tip: once you have booked, have a look around the postcode area on Street View so you know exactly where the property is before you arrive - we had no issues at all. The driveway is up a little kerb and is on a slope but is fine. It is in a very quiet area. Entering the property was easy. The photos to my mind make it look a little smaller than it actually is, so expect a bit more space! It is very well furnished and there is a lot of storage space so you can unpack all your stuff and it immediately feels like home. The kitchen is well equipped (and the smoke alarm definitely works! - open a window if you are pan-frying a steak...), the lounge area is lovely and the TV has all the usual Freeview channels, the shower was hot with a decent water pressure, and the bed was not too hard or soft. Wifi was weaker than the mega-fast service I have at home and was better (closer to router presumably) on the TV side of the property than the kitchen side; mobile phone data reception was better upstairs (or outside). Our medium-sized and occasionally excitable dog settled in straight away. As did we. Location: absolutely ideal for trips to the beaches (30 mins south-west) and country walks in the Brecon Beacons (30+ mins north-east). Good value: yes! Niggles: of course, it's a house, but all too minor to mention. Cleanliness: immaculate. Communication with the owner (who popped round shortly after we arrived to check all was well): great. Not to do with the house but a shout-out for dog-friendly places nearby: Pembrey beach (for a very long walk off-lead, check tide times); Bailey's Dog Cafe in Carmarthen (for understanding what a dog-friendly cafe really means, voted #2 in the UK).

"We were made to feel very welcome, very nice owners who made sure that we had everything that we needed."
Would definitely stay there again, a very nice and peaceful stay.

"Lovely little house, clean and well appointed however maintenance could have ..."
Lovely little house, clean and well appointed however maintenance could have been better location questionable due to empty plot, drive unusuable
-
"Fabulous accommodation, very clean and dog friendly."
Would have no problem in recommending this property.
-
"Lovely peaceful little place, well fitted out, Owners next door friendly but not intrusive."
Thickest carpet in living room that I have ever walked on! :] Couple of niggles for me - the directions provided via Google left me nonplussed and it took me ages to find it, leading to a late arrival feeling drained; There is no opening in the railing at the front, or a gate, so you have to walk around by the Owners property. May not seem too far to walk, but when you are disabled and have been out for the day every extra foot counts. The bed, whilst fine for me alone, was quite small compared to the size of the lovely bedroom.

"Thanks Elaine for a wonderful stay, my husband and I really enjoyed our 9 night stay at The Dragon’s Den."
The place was so clean, the bed was super comfortable, we had everything we could possibly need. The location was great too, so convenient for our day trips out! Thanks again for everything, the complimentary Welsh Cakes were very much appreciated :)

"Elaine was a great host."
Left us to it but there if needed. The house was really lovely and very clean - like a home from home. It was also very well equipped, plenty pots pans, kiten equipment etc - something lots of places seem to skimp on. Nice welcome pack with Welsh cakes ,tea & milk ,meant you could have a quick brew before unpacking. Great location - idel for us as we were near our friend and the botanical Gardens (where we were at an event) but close to Carmarthen. We would definitely stay again (including our cat Holly). If I had to be very very picky would like a king size bed but that's just us. We absolutely loved our stay - thank you xx

"Delightful."
Dragon's Den is tucked away at the end of a quiet cul d sac. It was peaceful. Very convenient base for exploring Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The accommodation was perfect for 2 people and our little dog. It has everything that you would need. I slept very well, the bed is very comfortable. We will definitely book again for another trip to Wales.

"Very enjoyable stay, facilities were good."
A good base to explore South Wales

"We were so fortunate to find this cottage, needing to be at several venues within a seven to ten mile radius of it, over the weekend."
Location wise it was ideal which was our aim, but facilities and welcome were a real bonus. The cottage had everything you could need for a short or longer break. It was spotlessly clean and immediately comfortable and welcoming. A gift pack of Welsh goodies was a generous touch too. Having first cleared it with the owners, we brought our house cat with us and she too immediately settled in. We should be back in West Wales in a year's time but probably further away from Cross Hands. If available however, we would definitely look to stay here again with the positives far outweighing the additional distance.

"The cottage is a bit on the small side downstairs but very cosy, comfortable and well equipped."
It is situated nice and quiet on the end of a cul de sac. The owner lives next door and the cottage has access to their big garden. From this location we visited the Gower, Tenby, Swansea, Carmarthen and the Brecon Beacons. So enough to fill the week with interesting activities. Improvements to the cottage could be a bigger bed (why a queen size in such a big bedroom?) and the door to the living room opens heavyly due to the carpet underneath. Overall we can certainly recommend it.

"Hi, I was so impressed of this little gem."
A cosy and quiet little house with much love for the details. Dogs allowed so when you are interested contact Elaine for more information! Thank you so much I really enjoyed my stay!! Hugs from Germany

"Overpowering smell of bleach on entering the property."
All windows/doors opened but still overpowering after two hours. Mould, dirt, dead insects and fingerprints everywhere!! Bathroom filthy and shower full of black mould!! I suffered massive asthma attack so we locked up and left two hours after arrival. Drive dangerous as ridiculously steep and uneven. Kerb dangerous as previous reviewer mentioned and damaged my car!! Road not finished. Next to large area of waste ground. Dangerous access as no lighting/lighting not working and cannot access property from drive. Sykes still not responded to complaint after 6 weeks.

"Excellent, good value comfortable, home from home, would gladly return in the future, if available."
-
"Lovely place, the let down was the bathroom & the driveway."
The bathroom & shower really need looking at, the seals and drains are disgusting and dirty, all the shower fixtures were filthy underneath and the disability chair was disgusting. The drive at the front was on a slope and the kerb is so high it has caused a fair bit of damage to the front of the car. Lovely people run Dragons Den but the cleaners need telling. Dog owners need to be careful of the kitchen as we had 3 slugs in there one night and as doggy owner know they are dangerous to dogs. Love the little gift basket of cakes t-bags & milk
-
"A very lovely and comfortable property."
We were left milk, tea and welsh cakes on our arrival which was very welcome. The cottage was dog friendly which our 2 dogs were quite happy in. The only issue with the property is that the garden is shared by the owners which they very kindly said we could use but it isn't secure so if you took your eyes off the dogs for a minute they could escape into the wooded areas so always kept a lead on them. The property says it is situated in the bustling village of Crosshands but you need to use your car to get to the village especially if weather not good. Overall a very nice property with everything you need in it. Owners very nice and not intrusive.

"We had a great stay, the cottage is lovely and cosy."
It was a super place to go back to especially on cold wet days- of which we we had a number during the week! Everything was well cared for and comfortable. The wifi signal could be a bit intermittent on occasions but it did not stop us doing what we wanted. Would we recommended Ffau’r DdrIg as a place to stay? Most definitely.
-
"ABsolutely gorgeous property."
An intimate, cosy stay that has everything available to you and makes for a real 'home away from home', and a peaceful retreat away from the noise of life. I didn't want to leave. The property is accessed via the owners driveway which is no problem atol to me, and as read in anothers review, at night the pathway to the back door of ffaur draig is unlit but all it takes to solve this is your mobile phone light. The property has far too much character and comfort to offer to miss out on. I highly recommend this place. A lovely private retreat at the far end of an estate so there is nobody looking into the property. It boasts of beautiful furniture inside that is also really comfy and It is a lovely, quiet area too. I loved everything about this place and felt very safe and well looked after. If i needed anything atol the owners were happy to help and Elaine checked in on me the first night to make sure I was okay. A lovely touch. Thankyou for a beautiful stay I shall look forward to coming again.
-
"Cottage not as described in the advert Property is dangerous and not enclosed Unlit entrance and the path from the driveway to the owners property to gain access is very not what you would expect or want after a long time driving then having to carry your luggage a long way and struggle down a very narrow unlit passage to get into the property and the path is also dangerous as it has a large Gap between the path and the kirb stone where my wife fell and sprained her ankle and hurt her wrist."
So we packed up and returned home the next day.would never stay there again and it's on a housing estate.
-
"Amazing cottage everything you need it was being from home to home Amazing owners too"
-
"We had a lovely stay, really nice little place."
Clean, warm and cosy. A lovely back garden for the dog to run about. Close to Cross Hands where there are plenty of shops, takeaways and pubs. Would recommend.
-
"We had a lovely week at Frau'r Ddraig with our dog."
It really is home from home, very cosy and comfortable, the welcome pack was much appreciated and the the dog bits too! Thank you! We would definitely recommend Ffau'r Darig to friends and family. The only suggestion I have is to have hoover and mop available, especially after all the rain, with our boy's muddy paws !
-
"Lovely property in a great location with easy access to self catering facilities and a great base from which to viait the Carmarthen area."
Would recommend to anyone wanting privacy burt with benefit of owners next door
-
"Everything was as expected and more."
Liked owners going the extra mile for our dog.
-
"The cottage was lovely, it was light & spacious & the bed was very comfortable, the owners were really helpful & friendly, the surrounding area was beautiful with many historical places to visit, we had a lovely time & would highly recommend it."
-
"A really great place to stay ."
-
"A gorgeous little house and perfect for 2 people with views across a lawned private garden offering privacy, peace and quiet."
Everything was clean and tastful, with a comfy lounge leather suite, and all mod cons, the property seemingly a rather recent new build. The owners were delightful leaving us a generous welcome basket of Welsh teas and Welshcakes, and evening drinks, with a caring thought towards Covid products. We loved staying at Dragon's Den which had many tiny stone carvings of dragons hiding here and there in the gardens. A convenient spot for many sightseeing spots within a short drive to shops. Thank you to both the owners for a really lovely place to stay.
-
"We had a lovely stay at Ffau'r Ddraig very clean and comfortable very dog friendly."
Elaine was on hand if we needed anything won't hesitate to use again Nigel

"Thank you for a fantastic week, the accommodation is exactly what we needed and met our expectations"
-
"We can really recommend Ffau’r Ddraig Cross Hands."
Flowers and welcome gifts were a nice gesture to make you feel welcome. We enjoyed our holiday in a comfortable home from home setting. It was peaceful and private, most of the things you need for your holiday are provided. Elaine and Doug the owners are very friendly and we would certainly return some time in the future. Jen

"Ffau’r Ddraig is a comfortable and well furnished small cottage ideal for a couple."
Elaine, the owner was very welcoming and helpful. Cross Hands is a convenient base for visiting South and West Wales and has a number of supermarkets, shops, pubs and restaurants on the doorstep.
-
"Very good property overall, good value for money and within easy reach of main roads."
I felt it was a bit far from a good dog walking spot, and I found the car parking spot a bit steep.
-
"Our host, Elaine, was absolutely charming and welcoming."
Ffau'r Ddraig was warm and well prepared when we arrived. All the facilities, décor and furniture were ideal and comfortable. We had a lovely week and are very happy with our choice of venue. Thoroughly recommended.
-
"Lovely owners,really helpful and friendly."
Beautiful home from home while we are waiting to move into our new home. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-
"This is a lovely little holiday rental and was exactly as described."
The owners were welcoming but didn't intrude on our stay and there were fresh flowers and some welcome goodies on our arrival. The garden is beautiful but isn't completely secure so if you are bringing your dog be aware of this. Excellent facilities.
-
"Would definitely recommend Ffau'r Ddraig to anyone."
A lovely warm welcome from the owner and a very well equipped property, well presented, clean and sanitized, with off street parking, at the end of a very quiet cul de sac. Lots of information for local attractions and if you have any questions, the owner, who lives next door, is only too pleased to help. We were also offered the use of the owners back garden, which on a nice day, would be very relaxing.
-
"We was extremely pleased with our cottage, nothing was too much trouble."
Elaine was very helpful with getting dog friendly eating places for us. We had a lovely welcome pack and flowers for our arrival. Loved our week. Thank you. Tricia and David.x
-
"It was a little difficult with the dogs, mainly the puppy as the shared garden was vast and not 100% secure."
We needed to keep them on the leads when toileting. However in saying this the owners were very happy for us to use their garden.
-
"Everything was just perfect in the accommodation."
So clean. There was a lovely vase of fresh flowers and a welcoming pack. There was everything you needed and more. The owners were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. I was sent a friendly e mail before our arrival giving me information about ket collection and a contact number. The garden was amazing our dog loved it and so did we, a very relaxing experience. The cottage is very conveniently located for shops restaurants pubs and good access to the beaches and for other attraction. Would definitely recommend people to stay there abd I would love to return there.

"This has been the best place we have stayed in Wales."
From the warm welcome email prior to arriving to the very helpful information pack set the tone for a wonderful stay. For the two of us it was a home from home everything we need was provided. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and upto date with many homely touches. It is an ideal place to stay with the hosts next door ready with recommendations for visits and places to see.
