  • "Overall we had a lovely stay at the cottage, everything we needed was provided, we really the decor and furnishings."

We had not realised from the listing that there was no garden or that the bathroom was downstairs. Being on the side of the extremely busy road meant that it was worrying trying to take our dogs out to the toilet as the small fenced area was not really suitable for them. We found that the bed in the front room was very hard and uncomfortable and those sleeping the bed in the back room were woken up every time they moved as the bed was so noisy on the un-carpeted floor. We liked the cottage, just not where it was positioned so would not recommend it for dogs or children.

Hi Sharon Thanks for your feedback, we welcome guest comments. It is really important that guests read fully the listing so expectations can be met. Both the fact that there is no adjoining garden and only a downstairs loo are listed clearly. The cottage is situated on a busy road (at times) leading up to the popular town of Narberth. ( albeit set back from the road) However, there is a country lane just literally less than a minutes walk from the front door for dog toileting or to just enjoy the countryside. Getting a Goldilocks bed is a tricky one as everyone has a different preference We will take a look at the bed in the middle room, nobody has commented negatively on either of the beds before now. We had considered carpeting upstairs but being a dog friendly holiday home, we wanted flooring that was easy to keep clean, and in keeping with the rustic charm of the cottage. We note you brought along two dogs. We are glad you liked the cottage overall. There are lots of positives which past guests have appreciated, and we hope many future guests will enjoy about our cosy little holiday home situated in the centre of Narberth. Many Thanks Paul and Donna Property Owner

Hi Jonathan Many thanks for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are pleased to hear you really enjoyed your stay. We note your comment regarding the cottage being a little dusty in places, our current cleaner is normally very good so surprised to hear that. We will share your feedback with her. Cottage is very well equipped and cosy will definitely be returning!

Thank you very much for your feedback Joanne We are so pleased to hear you had a lovely stay. We don't often get the chance to holiday in our little cottage as we open it out to guests, but when we do, these are the very things we enjoy! As you say, it is so central to beach, town, eateries, countryside. Thanks again Paul and Donna Property Owner

The beds and sofas were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped. The shower was easy to use. The property was very clean and has games and books if you are going to relax, we were on a walking and sightseeing visit. Wales does not disappoint for this sort of holiday. They are dog friendly too! Perfect place to stay to visit the South of Wales

  • "Exactly as stated on the advert."

Good facilities and much appreciated welcome drinks. The property is clean and well equipped and the TV is very good for watching films on Netflix and Prime. Very helpful communication and nice big sofas. The road is a tad noisy being on the main route in and out of the village and there is a wee seating area outside as clearly stated but all in all a good place to stay for a short visit to the area. Very comfortable bed by the way!

Hi Reuben Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday. I don't think anyone has commented on the TV and nice big Sofas before :) Although I would have to agree they are great for a couple, there is one each to stretch out on, best enjoyed whilst sipping a glass of chilled wine and settling down in front of the log fire to watch a good film. The traffic is pretty constant and may trouble some, granted. It is a trade off for being within walking distance of Narberth town, a great little town with so many quirky shops. A comfy bed is up there as a must for a relaxing holiday, glad you enjoyed :) Best wishes Paul and Donna Property Owner

The property is a good size and had everything we needed for a lovely week away. My daughter enjoyed it so much she actually wanted to ‘stay here forever’. Pretty sure our three year old and dog have post holiday blues. We’d highly recommend this lovely cottage and will certainly be booking again. The owners were quick to reply back to a query and we receiveda lovely bottle of wine and Welsh cakes when we arrived which was a lovely welcome gesture.

Hi Gemma Your post made us smile :) Not just because you were complimentary about the cottage, of course, that is always a bonus, but the mental image of a dog sharing their post holiday blues with a three year old Property Owner

  • "Very nice cottage ideal for two couples There was a lack of information about how to use the equipment, for example we had to install a 134 amp fuse to get the dishwasher to work and we were not told the dryer had been de commisioned (fuse removed)."

It would have been helpful to have a label for the hot water switch

Hi Carolyn Thanks for your feedback, glad to hear you found the cottage ideal :) The tumble dryer was removed months ago, due to the hike in energy costs. I have just checked the listing with Sykes to make sure it was not still included in the equipment and it is only the washing machine listed, not the dryer. Having said that, I can understand that if you see it there, having washed a load and the weather not great, it would be disappointing to find it not working. I will make sure I mention this in future guest welcome emails. We were surprised to read about the dishwasher, not least because the cleaner said there was a sink full of dirty dishes to get through! We will sort the signage for the hot water, fair point. Thanks again for taking the time to comment. Paul and Donna Property Owner

  • "Firstly we are not people who like to complain, the property was in a nice location, and looked inviting, first impression very impressed."

Unfortunately there seemed to be a problem with the water pressure in the bathroom and an unfortunate odour. The blind in the front bedroom doesn't pull down and the sofa facing with window, was collapsed at the left side. Also in our case being dog owners the outside area was inadequate as the pen provided was very small. Positively the kitchen was nice and well equipped, the living area was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. The cottage is on a great location.

Hello Steve, thank you for your comments, we appreciate our guests taking the time to leave feedback. Hopefully, the comments below will go some way to reassure future guests that we have addressed the issues you have raised. The problem with the water pressure in the bathroom appeared to be with the tap at the bathroom sink. We removed and cleaned the filter in the spout, replaced the filter and the pressure was restored to a good level. As for the unpleasant odour, sorry, can't explain that one. The drains are checked and cleaned regularly. We have replaced the blinds throughout the property. We have two large leather chesterfield settees at the property, the images Sykes use for our property listing are a little outdated. We checked both settees soon after your feedback was received and the settee was indeed broken. We are unsure as to how the settee was damaged, but can confirm that it was repaired. Your comments regarding the 'outside pen' are noted and we agree, it is not a suitable 'holding' area for owners to place their dogs for any length of time. It was never intended for this purpose. It is an area to house the key box for the cottage and has a picnic table for guests dining outside. We are glad to hear that you found the bed very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the living room spacious. Not to mention Location, Location, Location! Thanks again for your feedback. • "Very disappointed at the 'enclosed patio area'."

.. having an enclosed garden to toilet our 2 dogs is an essential for us on our holiday...it is always our top search criteria so this should not have come under this category. Lack of crockery, particularly bowls. Otherwise a nice comfortable place to stay.

Hi Angela Thank you for your feedback, fair comment regarding the patio area and one that has been raised with other guests. We appreciate that not everyone reads previous feedback posts, rather, relies on the listing information when selecting a holiday property. I will make it a priority to contact our agent Sykes and have the wording altered to give a more accurate description of the garden area. Bowls will be duly replenished! Good to hear that you found the cottage a nice comfortable place to stay :) Property Owner

  • "Only reduced rating slightly because of the fact that we didn't have any private area for our 2 dogs to relieve themselves in the morning."

The cottage itself does not have a private courtyard or garden area that you can access on the property. We had to get dressed and put the leads on the dogs to take them around the driveway which leads directly off a busy road. Also no footpath on most of that road so difficult to take them for a short walk. For a cottage to be dog friendly that is really important. The facilities in the listing says small private courtyard but only accessed across the driveway behind the gate for the cabin rental. There were others staying in the cabin so we were unable to use it. Otherwise a lovely comfy stay close to the lovely areas of Saundersfoot and tenby and plenty of room inside.

Hi Sarah Thank you for your feedback, we do appreciate your comments and as a dog owner ourselves, understand the practicalities of toileting! For the benefit of future guests, a country lane walk up towards Herons Brook is only ten yards or so from the cottage, turning right out of the driveway, and second right, past the red brick house, this takes you along the river, avoiding busy traffic. Having said that we also understand that being able to just let out the dog(s) for an early morning wee, in your PJ's does have its advantages and the cottage does not allow for that :) We will raise the accuracy of the listing with our agent Sykes who provide the property listing information. We are pleased to note that you have rated the property 100% for comfort and cleanliness and appreciate your honest feedback. Many Thanks Paul and Donna Property Owner

Listed as having a patio, but it was not attached to the property and was very small. Only one entrance/exit. Key code for getting key and leaving key did not work.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we value guest comments. We are glad that you found the cottage clean and comfy. "Pet friendly" is a way of saying that pets are welcome. We make it very clear in our welcome pack that dogs should not be allowed to roam freely. We are sorry that you had a problem with the key safe, it is in working order. We encourage all guests to report any problems or issues immediately. We weren't aware there was a problem. There is no rear access to the cottage it has a small garden opposite the front door, with a picnic area for guests. The listing states small garden/ patio which is exactly what it is! • "We had a pleasant stay at the cottage although the weather was awful."

Location was ideal, a short walk from central Narberth and its shops and restaurants. The property was clean and tidy with a lovely size living room. The second bedroom was a decent size although the double bed was a little uncomfortable as it wasn't level, not sure if this because there wasn't a full base underneath the mattress. We struggled a little with the parking and whilst the most has been made of the shower room/facilities there was little in the way of water pressure and so washing your hair etc was a no no.
