  • "We had a lovely time at the cottage."

We have been to moyle grove since 2012 this is our 3rd cottage. This cottage was everything it said, and we was really pleased. It was safe for our two cocker spaniels ( who are working dogs) so we was pleased. There are a couple of holes, but nothing to worry about. This is a cottage we will come back to. Thank you for the welcome pack it was lovely. This is a cottage we will definitely come back to.

Nice welcome pack, very much appreciated. Comfy/nice and relaxing.Great nights sleep. Very close to the beach.Great for letting your dog run around.Well stocked kitchen.Lovely Enclosed garden for a medium sized dog like ours. However there are small gaps that a smaller dog could escape. Weather was great but in turn attracted loads of flies along with being in close vicinity of a farm.Thank God for the fly swatter( kept under the sink). Thank you for a lovely holiday. • "We had a lovely week away in this cosy holiday cottage."

We also visited last year and also had a wonderful time so it was great knowing what to expect and the cottage didn't disappoint. The improvements to the now gated garden, bathroom and kitchen were perfect. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated after a long drive. The kitchen is so well equipped and we cooked most of our meals there as we also took our two dogs. We particularly enjoyed the garden, the spectacular view of Carn Inglis and proximity to the beach. We will definitely be visiting again in the future. Thank you so much.

  • "This is a beautiful and very quaint cottage in a beautiful area."

We were very comfortable (3 adults and an older teenager and our dog) and it was incredibly peaceful. Some lovely walks and beaches to explore and lovely welcoming pubs and restaurants. There is everything you could need in the cottage, wifi is perhaps a little patchy but we didn’t really need it and the views more than make up for it. The welcome box was a lovely touch and the 3 men/boys pretty much finished the marmalade over the week. I would highly recommend this place, lovely cottage, lovely area, lovely owner, peace and beauty all around, just what we needed

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the cottage and the area as much as we do. We hope to welcome you back in the future Property Owner

Thank you so much for the chance to enjoy such a lovely place. The cottage was full of charm inside and out. A special highlight was spotting mummy hedgehog and 4 young hogletts in the garden. So lovely. We enjoyed every second and were sad to go. Also thankyou for the welcome basket. We enjoyed it all. A very memorable time out of the hussle and bustle and we would love to venture back. Many thanks.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We hope to welcome you back one day and also to see the Hedgehogs ourselves as we never have! Property Owner

  • "Beautiful old cottage."

Highly recommended. Garden appears to have been upgraded with a new patio area and a new wooden rear gate. The garden was secure for our elderly border terrier and well kept with a few friendly rabbits. Unusual gallery area above the dining area in the living room which is very quaint and for display purposes only. Once settled we used the back entrance as it had a utility room which was great for muddy boots. Welcome pack on arrival. Overall a great cottage. We took our fire stick TV player which converted the TV to a smart TV for catch up in the evening. WiFi understandably buffered slightly . No contact from the owners during our stay which would have been a friendly gesture .

  • "We loved staying at the cottage it was cosy and very clean."

We were welcomed with home made marmalade and a bottle of wine. (Thank you very much!) our girls loved their own rooms and most importantly the log burner. The location was beautiful and close enough to the beach and local shops. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable. I can’t fault anything. The only thing that would have been helpful was to have a little more time to pack on our last day, a 10am kick out is a little early!

The welcome basket was such a lovely treat. The cottage was comfortable, clean and with so many lovely touches, even a pint of milk for a cuppa at the end of a long journey. The information folder was really helpful especially the local recommendations. We felt like we were staying in a much loved family home. We hope to stay again next year, a truly special place for a wonderful holiday.

  • "We had a wonderful week at this cosy cottage and were sad to be coming home."

Everything was as described and photographed in the listing. The beds were comfortable and the house was really clean and dust-free, which is hard to achieve in an old property. It has a very peaceful, calming feeling about it and was a perfect base in good and bad weather. The decoration is as you would expect for an old country cottage and it felt very homely. We cooked most of our evening meals at the cottage as we had two dogs with us and Newport was very busy in mid-August, but the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed and the new cooker was great to use. The garden was a good size and we enjoyed relaxing in it and the kids could play ball games without disturbing anyone. The cottage is on the hillside next to Newport, it does not have sea views, but the surrounding scenery is beautiful including the captivating Carn Ingli. The cottage is about a miles walk from the beach, it is downhill on the way but quite steep on the way back, but we got used to it and enjoyed stopping at the golf course for a drink and to admire the spectacular view of the beach on the way back. (You could also drive and park at the beach, where there are toilets and a cafe and even at this time of year there was no problem parking.) I can see that the owner is planning to upgrade some things over the winter and my only suggestion would be a small barrier fence to stop dogs and young children being able to run down the side of the cottage and round to the front as although the road is quiet the cars do pass very fast and it would allow people to relax a little more when using the garden. Thank you for a brilliant summer holiday, we will definitely book again.

Thank you for your comments - we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We are planning to put fencing and a gate to the side of the cottage during the upgrade and we look forward to welcoming you to the cottage again! Property Owner

  • "A large, traditional welsh cottage with a huge garden ideal for children and/or dogs."

Key collection and directions were spot on. On arrival we were able to doggy proof the driveway with some portable fencing that we take everywhere so the pups were safe and they loved it. We like to cook whilst away as it’s not always easy to eat out with 2 lively pups, the oven is in desperate need of upgrading but otherwise the kitchen is clean and well kitted with everything you could need. Unfortunately we were inundated with flies due to the weather and close proximity to cattle so fly spray and mosi spray were a must. Location is perfect for exploring the coastal path and beaches. My partner also enjoyed a spot of fishing from the shore. Thank you, a pleasant stay.

  • "Beautiful cottage but unloved."

.couldn't have a bath not enough hot water bath was like sand paper needs resurfacing, didn't even get enough hot water for shower ..seats were uncomfortable bed made noises every time we moved so didn't get a good night's sleep, chair st the dining table had nails sticking out cobwebs everywhere carpet fraying and patched couldn't use washer as drain pipe was split had to scrub 2 garden chairs before we could sit on them ..worst place we have stayed at

We're happy to hear that you liked Ty-Newydd but disappointed to hear you didn't really enjoy it. As I explained when we spoke there is no hot water tank, and therefore, it is best to run the water slowly so that the boiler has ample time to heat the water up. The shower is an electric shower so there should have been a continuous supply of hot water there. I'm surprised to hear that you found the bed uncomfortable as previous guests have mentioned that it was comfy. You may be pleased to hear the property is due for some updating this Autumn and the bath and carpet are both scheduled for replacement. The chair at the table will of course be checked. • "Had a great week in Newport."

Ty Newydd as rightly published is very well stocked and has all the required utensils, etc. We had a hot week and the cottage was nice and cool. The only area for improvement is the electric shower which didn’t have much water pressure and wasn’t up to rinsing long hair…..Other than that we had a very enjoyable stay. We would love to come again and stay for 2 weeks but unfortunately the rental price is too high…

The cottage is a work of love of the owner‘s family and one feels it immediately and feels at home upon entering the door. The cottage is comfortable wonderfully furnished and decorated. It has everything one needs. It is spacious but cosy at the same time. We were very lucky to find this cottage. The surroundings are great and the position perfect for exploring the area. • "What a fabulous old fashioned cottage, located not more than a half hour walk from Newport beach."

The cottage itself is very well equipped and spacious which was perfect for our holiday with our daughter, partner and granddaughter, along with a generous sized garden which suited our 2 small dogs, (Pomeranian & Cardigan Corgi). My only disappointment was that the garden is not contained enabling the dogs to run out to the road if you took your eye off them for a moment. Although this is pointed out in the listing. We also found that although there is very informative instructions with regards to recycling our rubbish there was no instruction as to when the rubbish collections are made. We would definitely revisit this fabulous area again.

The cottage was sparkling and everything had been thought of from the lovely welcome pack, right through to every necessity being covered. A fully equipped and stocked kitchen and wash room with a view over the garden and stunning scenery. A car is a must as it is one of three cottages approximately 2 miles from town of Newport. Where you can find a spar and several good places to eat, the cawl at the Golf club was excellent. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat then Ty -Newydd comes highly recommended.

A relaxing peaceful break in a cosy cottage. Difficult to dog proof the garden but that was the only slight draw back for us. Back garden was easier and such a sun trap. Felt very much at home and hope to return later in the year. And only a 40 minute drive home .

Gorgeous well looked after garden which was a pleasure to relax in. Only one small thing there are a few places a dog can escape so care needs to be taken. Despite this would happily stay here again as it's so near many places to visit and we had a lovely couple of days on the beach as the weather was good.

A couple of points - you can't see exactly where the cottage is before booking - not an issue in this case as we were very happy with the exact location; we booked for three people but only two sets of towels left. Otherwise the cottage was lovely with a very well equipped kitchen and a quiet and peaceful location but easy access to many good places to visit.

  • "We enjoyed the cottage but people do need to remember this is an old cottage."

Our main problem was walking to anywhere. Being older and slower we found the distances to facilities meant we needed to use the car rather than walk. We would recommend the local beach and golf course . The views are amazing, the walking good, The beach brilliant. Ice cream on the beach was expensive but the cafe at the golf course was great.
