  • "A Fabulous Farm stay ."

We were staying at the farm for my sons birthday and our group consisted of a multi generational family. Right from booking the host Anghared was warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, this was really reassuring as one of the members of our group has complex needs . Upon arriving at the farm , we were immediately greeted in person and given a tour of the property and a lovely welcome pack . The property was as described and suited our family perfectly . The kitchen really is the hub of the home. We were blessed with good weather and made great use of the enclosed outdoor space aswell as the hot tub . What really sets this farm house apart is the host family, you really felt so welcome and were welcomed to find out more about dairy farming and farm life, you could take part in as much of the experience as you wanted and the hosts really went out of their way to make lasting memories and unique experiences for our family, equally we were free to enjoy our time here in whichever way we chose , we explored the local area and there sure is lots to do and see . We look forward to visiting again .

  • "The owners of Panteg Farm are very lovely and welcoming, they left us a lovely welcome basket of welsh cakes, fresh milk from the farm, a bottle of wine and some butter."

Overall we enjoyed our stay however there are some things that dampened our stay. Pro's- lovely large house with plenty of space, blackout blind in the babys little bedroom, enclosed garden safe for children, firestick for the tvs, owners let the kids come and see the cows being milked and the baby calves getting their milk and taught us all about the workings of the farm. Lovely big kitchen, undercover hot tub, washing machine and tumble dryer. Lovely new carpets inside, all cleaning products/cling film/foil were provided for us (aside from washing machine things). Cons- owners live in very close proximity to the house and overlooking the hot tub patio. Working dogs loose on site at times, on our last day one large dalmation ran up barking its head off at the kids who had just got out of the car and luckily were already on the other side of the gate, but it was then stood between the adults in the car with the baby and the gate entrance to the house. Flies- you are in the middle of a working dairy farm and the flies were something else. It was not nice in the kitchen even with the fly lamp. Had to keep all the doors and windows shut to keep the flies out, with the Rayburn/Aga on full blast the whole time the heat was stifling trying to cook. A lot if things around the kitchen needed fixing. The oven didn't close properly, the fridge door didn't close properly- the second fridge/freezer was wobbly and rusty. Sone essential supplies like baking trays and a large chopping board were missing, had to request pint glasses. We were only provided one tea towel for the week until more were requested. There was no access to spare linen which would have been handy with small children. Mattress in the main bedroom is a bit knackered and sagging, ended up with back ache every morning. Net curtains were thrown over the tops of the curtain rails in the bathrooms, bathroom cupboard doors were falling off its hinges. Jacuzzi bath had all of its jets disabled and the metal edges were all peeling. No shower head for rinsing. Hot tub outside was nice but all the chemicals were just left on the floor for inquisitive children to get access to. Headboards were disintegrating leaving bits of rubber sometimes floating in the water. 1 metre past the 1mtre high fence of the back garden is a 2mtre at least drop down into a bramble filled stream which in late August was a gentle trickle, but I imagine it gets much higher at other times of year. A 3 year old in our group easily found a lower part in the fencing and hopped it. There was no barbecue unlike most places we have been previously None of this stopped us from having a good time during our week, but regretfully we would not likely return (mainly due to the flies - we counted 150 dead in a 24 hour period in one room) despite the owners being very lovely and making sure most days that we were ok. Unfortunately most of these things would not have been quick fixes for them while we were there.

Thank you Louise for stating your positive points about Panteg, however I would like to respond to the negative ones. From all our previous reviews, none of your issues have been raised and we’ve not had any negative feedback until now. Our house does not look over the hot tub patio, it is situated to the left of Panteg down on the yard. I introduced my dogs to you on your first night, which you found to be friendly. The fridge door closes perfectly and the cooker door was fine on your arrival. Regarding the second fridge, there are a few spots of rust on the outside of the door, which I pointed out to you on arrival. There are several baking trays at the property together with a large chopping glass board which is on the worktop. There’s a sufficient amount of various glasses to accommodate 8 guests, but I did bring you pint glasses as per your request. The mattress is 16 months old and comfortable as stated in previous reviews. The nets in the bathrooms are wrapped around the pole, giving guests the option to leave as they are, or to pull down. The bathroom cupboard door is not hanging off but I will double check if it needs tightening when the current guests vacate. There is no bbq listed on my page, but upon your request I offered to give you a throw away bbq which you declined. Panteg is a working dairy farm which is why the property is securely fenced off from the yard. I advised on arrival that no children are to roam freely from the property unless accompanied by myself or an adult. Sadly this was not adhered to, and your children non supervised breached this rule. There is a stream about 7 meters from Panteg, the other side of the secure fence which trickles throughout the year. Not once have we had issues with little ones regarding this matter. On your arrival I pointed out that the jacuzzi element of the large bath is not for use, but to use the hot tub provided outside. The hot tub chemicals are kept behind the hot tub next to the wall, not in view. It is impossible for a child to open these as they have the safety caps on. You were provided with a bath sheet and hand towel each together with velvet robes for adults and clean bed linen on all beds. As your duration was for 7 nights, I feel that extra linen was unnecessary. Had you asked for extra, I would of provided. Panteg is a self catering property but I do supply cleaning products, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and a lovely welcome pack containing local Welsh products. I do not feel that laundry products are my responsibility to provide. I can only apologise for only providing 1 tea towel. This was an error by myself as usually there are 3. Regarding the flies, we have not had an issue in the past as there is an electric fly machine in the kitchen. Had you raised this concern with myself at the time of your visit, I would of done my best to help. It was a disappointment to find the house in a very messy and dirty state on your departure, however with a lot of hard graft, we turned it back to the cosy homely place that it is, by check in. I hope the above addresses your concerns. Wishing you all the best, Angharad. Property Owner

  • "A hidden gem!"

The farmhouse is beautifully situated giving breathtaking views and the true feel of a rural farm retreat. The farmhouse along with it's large garden, patio and hot tub are all completely enclosed to allow children to safely run free and play with the garden games provided. The house has plenty of space for a large family or group to gather around the traditional farmhouse kitchen table, chill out in the lounge or spend time alone enjoying the setting. Added bonus of a lovely child friendly lounge seperate to the main lounge. Plenty of books and games to entertain children and adults. Our children described the beds as like sleeping on clouds and the main bathroom as the "fancy bathroom" and the downstairs wetroom is ideal for those less mobile. The whole house was immaculately clean and contains everything you could possibly need. The host was absolutely perfect from the moment of booking and nothing was too much trouble. She was a wealth of information on the local area and always on hand without being intrusive. The children enjoyed watching the animals pottering around and the adults loved the information on the farm tour. We all enjoyed the homemade Welsh Cakes so much that Ann kindly made us a tub to take home! I always struggle to find a break to suit the whole families needs, we wanted a rural house with countryside views, near to the beach and castles, but also within reach of a retail park. Somewhere that the boisterous children would be entertained but my autistic son could have peace and quiet... it turns out that the impossible is possible at Pant Teg! This is 100% the best trip we have had and an absolute bargain! We can't wait to return.

We enjoyed the hot tub and cooking in the traditional range, although it also has a modern cooker. The host was extremely helpful and friendly, providing farm-fresh milk and eggs from her chickens. The farm is very well located close to some beautiful sandy beaches and lots of castles!

  • "Excellent property with exceptionally attentive owners who were very friendly and willing to offer recommendations on visits to places and local events."

The children were permitted to be involved with milking the cows, feeding calves and were treated to a tractor ride which they loved. The garden provided a safe haven for playing and relaxing. The farmhouse was traditionally styled but offering all mod cons and the jacuzzi was a pleasant addition to the property. We enjoyed the rural landscape and meeting local people who were very friendly. The area offers plenty to do for both families and adults.

They left banners and balloons for my daughters birthday who turned 9. The cottage was clean and really organised. We had a lovely tour of the farm along with a tractor ride which the kids loved. Ann recommended lovely restaurant and check in to ensure we settled in well. Highly recommended the cottage.

Super spacious with killer views that are practically therapy. Clean as a whistle, and can we talk about that fireplace and hot tub combo? Pure bliss. The owners? Absolute legends. Gave us the grand tour of the farm, making the whole stay feel extra special. They're the kind of hosts you want to grab a pint with. Little touches made it feel like home – a bottle of Prosecco, a cute basket of eggs, and all the farm-fresh milk you can handle. Honestly, this place is a winner. If you want a chill vibe, epic views, and hosts who go above and beyond, this is your spot. Highly, highly recommend!

  • "What an incredible Property!"

We have stayed all over the country in countless cottages, but this place is easily the most homely, comforting property we have been to. It literally felt like our home within 1 day. The space and facilities are excellent and its location was perfect for our needs. But…… What makes this place sooooo special are the amazing Hosts!! We have never experienced such kindness and hospitality in this type of accommodation. One of our party was recovering from major knee surgery, and with his wife who doesn’t drive were limited in what they could do. But our host went above and beyond anything we could have imagined to make their stay truly memorable. Taking them into town, taking them to events they really enjoyed, baking things for us, taking us to watch the sunset. But at no time intruding on our privacy. As well as a truly memorable holiday we now have some incredible friends who we will treasure for years! Thanks for everything and we will defo be staying again soon…

Angharad showed us around the house and made sure we were happy, we couldn’t have been more impressed! We loved helping Alun and Angharad feed the calves, especially our two children. Our son was in charge of the chickens for a few days, and he so enjoyed letting them out and rounding them up later in the day. Angharad provided us with some great hidden gems to visit, and the caves( thanks Dewi) were fantastic! Special mention to Gladys and the pups - mischievous and cute! The facilities in the house were home from home, loved using the Rayburn to cook our beef roast - was perfect! We will definitely be returning at some point!

Angharad put up banners and balloons to surprise my wife. As hosts we couldn't have asked for anymore, so friendly and helpful. The house was exceptional with all the amenities you could hope for. The Rayburn was a delight to use, with the kitchen big enough for the entire family (5 adults & 1 toddler). We were lucky to be at the farm during calving season and we had the pleasure of watching them being fed. Then we all relaxed in the hot tub in the evening. Thank you Angharad.

Picturesque setting and perfect for exploring from. I had thought to eat out lots, but the kitchen is wonderfully equipped and the Rayburn oven is temptation too strong to forego. Homely comforts and a log fire at the end of the day, you ease back into a comfortable sofa and happily reflect on your day. Angharad is so helpful, wonderfully welcoming with a warmth to out do the log burner. We enjoyed a guided walk up the local mountain, a tour of the farm, met the vet. And so we discovered more than just a holiday house. We found ourselves at the beating heart of Wales and basked in the warmth that radiated from it. But don't just take my word for it, book this property, go, discover. I think you will agree with me. By the way, one of Angharad's recommended pubs Red Lion, food is lush.

Diolch Martin for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have such a lovely, kind family at Panteg. Look forward to meeting up soonxx Property Owner

On arrival you will find ample parking spaces, a large, enclosed garden area to the front and a patio area to the back.

Cross the threshold and kick off your muddy boots into the porch, open the door into the warm Rayburn heated, homely, large farmhouse kitchen.

Either make yourself a cup of tea and snuggle up into the warm lounge heated by the woodburning stove or crack open the prosecco and raise a toast to your getaway.

Admire the stars as they fill the sky thanks to Pant Teg’s location in a designated dark sky area before finding the farmhouse’s five well-presented bedrooms: one king, two doubles and one twin which can also be converted to a super king depending on your accommodation needs.

As a working farm, Pant Teg offers bookable guided farm walks, and depending on the time of your visit, you can experience either the cows being milked, a cow calving or even the calves being fed in the state of the art calving shed.

Local amenities can be found in Pontyberem where you can pick up necessities at the local store before treating your loved ones to a delicious meal at the Red Lion, The White Heart or the Mansel Arms.
