• "Llwyncadfor farm was outstanding."

  Me and my family hired this beautiful farm house for Christmas and from the moment we arrived we loved it. The home is very spacious, lots of history about the property and the owner is very friendly and helpful and if you have any problems or enquiries he gets in touch straight away. We loved the large dining table to seat all 12 of us, the wood burners and the games room was a bit hit. The projector was used every day to watch films, the enclosed garden was loved by our dogs. We would 100% recommend to anyone who is thinking of booking, we would love to come back again in the future. Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful home.

• "Positive: The farmhouse is wonderful, spacious, well equipped & clean."

  Great space for a large gathering. Outside space private with plenty of parking & space to roam. Negatives: We did have problems communicating with both the owners & Skye cottages, no answer from the owners and no help from Skye cottages. Fortunately it wasn’t to important but do wonder what would have happened if there was a real problem. Not enough towels for the number of guests Also no recycling & we were required to take our rubbish all the way to the end of the lane! Plenty of out buildings to put bins.

  The location was close to the coast but tucked away in a tranquil rural area. There was lots of space to enjoy in and outside the farmhouse. A well equipped kitchen, large dining table and spacious bathrooms enabled everyone to feel comfortable!

• "Fantastic farm house, fitted our family perfectly!"

  The beds were so comfy and the games room was a hit with the little ones and the big ones! Would definitely stay again!! The under floor heating was amazing too.

  The house is extremely well equipped and has everything you could possibly need. Four generations of our family aged 3 to 80 had a wonderful holiday with memories to last a life time.

• "This is a lovely house with great facilities."

  We stayed for 4 nights as a party of 10 to celebrate a 60th birthday and overall the experience was a good one. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, bathrooms are great and the entertainment room at the top of the house is a fabulous facility. There are some points worth mentioning. We arrived in the dark and as the cottage is away from villages it really is very dark! We went down the lane and drove past some derelict barns and saw no sign of the cottage. We followed the lane and came to a dead end at the bottom of an incline and as it had been raining so much, found ourselves with 2 cars stuck in the mud, unable to reverse or turnaround - very unnerving in the rain and wind. We called the property manager who told us that this happened to someone else 2 weeks before and they needed to be pulled out by a tractor! Which begs the question, why no signs for the house, or lights left on to give people arriving in the dark and idea of where it was? We did eventually manage to push and pull the cars around and eventually get back up the lane to discover the house is by the derelict barns but not visible as you drive down the lane (in the dark anyway) Please, please, put a sign up to indicate where the house is and maybe a sign saying not to go further down the lane! The house has 3 log burners which are great however, there were only 2 logs and small amount of kindling next to the kitchen one. This was quickly used up while we moved our stuff in and it took us a while to realise the logs were outside in a barn. It would have been more welcoming to have all the log baskets full for the first night so you don't have to go looking for them in the rain and wind after a long journey and getting stuck in the mud. The house is clean, well furnished and has everything you could possibly need in the kitchen which is wonderful. The dishcloth left for us was well used and very unappealing so we didn't use, fortunately brought own own. The kitchen hand towels were also not the best, very old and grey and past their best and could do with replacing. Overall though, we enjoyed the house a great deal and had a lovely weekend despite the weather. Newcastle Emlyn is a sweet little town with plenty of individual shops to browse. Lovely eating places nearby, we had Sunday lunch at The Daffodil which I would highly recommend.

  Thank you for your feedback, Maggie. I am sorry you had trouble with missing the farmhouse and ending up getting stuck. We have never had this issue before with 10 years of guests, until the previous week. We have organised a sign, however were just a bit too complacent and didn't anticipate the very next guests doing the same! The other issues; logs, dish cloth, and hand towels I agree should have been presented correctly. Generally, we provide matches, newspaper, firelighters, kindling, and a basket full of logs for each wood burner. In addition, there is a log hold all to carry logs in from the log shed. The log shed has a log splitter axe, chopper logs and pre-sawn wood for guests to chop whatever they need together with a block to chop them on. It's part of the experience of living in a remote farmhouse. I will raise these issues with the team that prepares the property. • "One the stairs one of the spindles fell out a couple of times (this was at the bottom of the stairs up to the top floor)."

  It just slots back in but there are three others missing next to it and if a small child were to lean on it the wrong way they could then easily fall through the hole that is left. Wasnt a problem for us as children older, but wanted to flag it as for toddlers could be nasty.

• "Beautiful rustic farm house with plenty of room."

  Ideal for extended families to spend time together. An unfortunate start for us however due to power cut on arrival, which caused a problem with no lighting or cooking facilities for the first couple of days, we were very grateful for the log burners which we were able to use for heating and to boil water for a hot drink. When the power came back we were very comfortable and warm. The games room at the top of the house was an excellent addition and kept the children happy for hours.

• "The house is lovely with everything that you need but it really does need a good clean."

  Almost all the surfaces in the main rooms are dusty, the amount of 'bits' under the sofa cushions (looking for remotes, not randomly inspecting) and under the sofas suggests that they are rarely cleaned. Given the Covid situation I would have expected a much higher standard of cleanliness. The bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms were clean. Also, if there is a QR code (which apparently it is a legal requirement to scan on arrival) we didn't find it.

  Lots of space and very clean and comfortable. Nice beds and bedding, excellent bathrooms. Large garden which we all enjoyed playing games in. Secluded and very peaceful.

  would make a lovely place to stay in the winter with the fires going Our only complaint would be there was only one bath plug between the 2 baths and it wasn’t well fitting but other than that a lovely place to stay and would return if we planned to come back to the area

  It is very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The house is very spacious and well equipped. The teenagers loved the projector in the games room for watching films. You can walk out of the gate and down a track for a lovely dog walk. Newcastle Emlyn is a nice little place with a supermarket only 10 mins by car. The coast is 20 - 30 mins away with a choice of dog friendly beaches. We also went to Tenby for a day which is about an hour away. All in all a great place to stay.

• "The house is located in a beautiful setting, surrounded by fields and sheep!"

  Internally, the property is spacious and was squeaky clean on arrival. Kitchen was very well equipped - there was nothing we wanted that was not available despite our party size of 12. We found the croquet set in the parlour - we had brought our own as hadn't spotting anything in the listing about this so it may be an idea to publicise in the future... In relation to the bedrooms, a couple of the rooms had only double beds. Although clean and comfortable, I would recommend that when the time comes to replace these that they are upgraded to zip link singles that can then create a more flexible space - twin room or king bed. Most couples on holiday will prefer a larger bed and kids are reluctant to share doubles with a preference toward twin beds - this solution caters for both and allows the property to be set up in a more flexible manner for future guests. The games room on the top floor went down very well with the kids, who made use of everything and especially the projector screen that was hooked up to the playstation...! The property mangagement team were amazing and very helpful when I called to ask about the possibility of hiring a hot tub and bouncy castle to make our stay more fun. The owner was accommodating of our requests and the children loved the addition. A dedicated hot tub would have made this property more attractive to us on booking! We all had a lovely stay at Llywyncadfor and would recommend...!

• "We were asked to leave the property in the condition in which we found it."

  We did not have the heart to leave such a lovely place needing a bit more tlc. My daughter spent several hours cleaning out the fridge, mopping the floors in the kitchen dining room and sitting room. Cleaning out the tea coffee sugar and bread containers, sorting the cutlery drawers etc. It is a lovely place for a family gathering, the beds and bed linen were clean and so comfortable . The whole place would be so much better for a thorough clean and dusting. Even this did not stop us from appreciating the beauty of the property and setting.
