  • "A lovely cottage in a perfect location."

The cottage is located in a tranquil setting high above Porthgain and affords lovely views of the village and countryside. The provision of a parking space is an added bonus. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly and hospitable owners who live next door.A plate of delicious Welsh cakes and a vase of fresh roses had been left for us on the kitchen table. We found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, airy and well equipped.During our stay we made the most of the cottage’s close proximity to the coastal path which leads to Trefin and Abercastell in one direction and Abereiddi in the other. We have already booked a return visit next year.

  • "The owners (living next door) were welcoming, helpful, and discreet."

The property was clean, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and nicely situated for walks along the coastal path or into the village. Our only minor grumble (and others may think differently) was that the polyester duvet cover on the main bed was rather uncomfortable, and meant one of us had difficulty sleeping (though to be fair this was probably the result of other factors too). Weather was a little mixed (as one would expect), but for the most part it was gloriously sunny and warm!

  • "What a lovely place."

The house was excellent. Very comfortable. Lounge, kitchen and bedrooms all recently updated and very well appointed including an air fryer, fridge freezer and dishwasher. Being up the hill you have great views across the hills surrounding and from outside you can see the harbour and sea. John and Veronica are lovely and have made Sunny Hill a lovely place to stay. Porthgain is a beautiful spot, especially if you want to walk in the coastal path or wander down to the harbour for a sunset. The Slooth pub five minutes walk away is also really nice, everyone is friendly and we had two excellent meals there. Make sure you book a table as it is very popular. We also enjoyed a drink after a days walking and sat in the beer garden. Within 20 minutes we visited St David’s, Whitesands, Fishguard and Strumble Point. We loved our coastal walking from the house where we saw seals, dolphins and birds of prey. Finding somewhere as stunning as this will be difficult for future holidays and even harder will be finding such a nice property in a perfect spot if you want to be away from the crowds but bear stunning scenery and a lovely pub.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Sunny hill Cottage in the future. Property Owner

The cottage was beautifully clean, well equipped and with a lovely interior layout, modern kitchen and perfect for relaxing in after a strenuous days walking. Thank you so much to the super owners who made us so welcome, and the Welsh cakes & roses, all of which was much appreciated

  • "We enjoyed our stay at the property very much."

Friendly, welcoming and helpful owners, who had prepared the table for an enjoyable cup of tea and Welsh cakes on arrival. Nicely updated rooms, including the lovely modern kitchen/utility, and comfortable bedrooms. It would be nice if the bathroom/shower areas had been updated to the same standard. We thought that there could have been one or two more kitchen items, e.g. an extra pan, a tray for carrying cups of tea, and perhaps a washing-up drainer. We felt that a slightly more detailed handover would have helped with regard to understanding the heating system. It is probably worth mentioning that the parking space available would be a stretch for two cars, but there is free parking in the village car park. However, these small points would not stop us recommending 2, Sunny Hill, or booking again.

  • "Lovely cottage with good views over the village, and is in easy walking distance of the Sloop pub (great food), the harbour, and the coast path."

The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The coast path is accessible from the rear of the cottage and the harbour, so a very nice short circular walk (with dramatic views) is possible. A visit or two to St. Davids is a must. The Cathederal is spectacular. We were the first in the property since its complete renovation and modernisation. There were therefore a few minor suggestions we made to improve comfort, and the owners were on to them straight away. For us living in Derby, it was a very long drive to Porthgain, but it was so worth it and would gladly stay there again. Our thanks to the owners for a wonderful week.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner
