  • "The property was not very clean, crumbs on the floor in the kitchen, sweet wrappers under the bed, bowl on table with information leaflets also had lots of crisps in it."

, etc Plates, dishes and mugs provided but no dishes or jugs to use in the oven or microwave, just two baking trays. Large range cooker but one of the ovens not working and hob not clean. Carpets need a good clean to get rid of stale smell. Bedside lamp provided in twin room but nowhere to plug it in. Notes in info folder re shower are out of date.

  • "The property was dirty on arrival, the shower was unusable because the hot water pressure was so low, The floor of the bathroom was wet through at night because of the damp, The tiling in the bathroom and kitchen was a joke, the tile trim was stuck out so far that you could injure yourself on it, This place is not fit for purpose and falsely advertised Clearly Sykescottages do not vet the properties they advertise and take the money for, paid £565."

00 for 7 nights in April, not good

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that the property wasn't clean on arrival. This had been missed by the cleaners and was an error. We are on hand to help with any issues during your stay and had you contacted during the 7 nights, we would have been over straight away to put this right You did raise the issue with Sykes after your holiday and we offered you a partial refund. We haven't had conformation from you as to whether you are happy to accept this or not but we acknowledge the complaint We have taken a note of your points and will be checking everything that you mentioned Once again, thank you for your feedback Property Owner

About the location

SCURLAGE

Swansea 14 miles; Rhossili 3.5 miles; Port Eynon 1.5 miles.

Scurlage is a small village, named after the family who built a fortified manor house, although none of the remains of ‘Scurlage Castle’ have survived. This little village is between the popular beachside villages of Rhossili and Port Eynon and is close to the fantastic beaches of the Gower Peninsula including Oxwich Bay. A perfect central location to be a short distance from fantastic coastline and the iconic Worms Head. The little village has various footpaths crisscrossing the area, shop, pharmacy, doctors surgery and take-away, but still retains its sleepy village personality.
