  • "This was a super one bedroom cottage."

Very comfy, maybe a few more bits of kitchen kit but was adequate. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here., It would have been nice to see the owners around…or maybe we did but didn’t know it!? All working well and correctly. Thanks very much.,

  • "A beautifully appointed cottage and very comfortable stay for two of us."

    Great location.

  • "We informed Sykes we wouldn't arrive until the Saturday even though booked from Friday 4pm."

You acknowledged this. On arrival at 1pm Saturday the cottage hadn't been cleaned. The cleaner arrived about 2pm having been informed she had until 5pm to clean it. At no time in the stay could either of us manage to lock the front door from the inside. Consequently, we had no security at night, as locking from the outside and entering rear door would have been a fire risk. Sykes were left messages on both these issues and responses were unacceptably late, it at all, and of no use, merely asking us to log via the app.

  • "We loved our stay here, good location which wasn’t too far from nearby villages, lovely setting for the dog also."

There were no dog bowls provided which was a downside, this wouldn’t have been a problem if we were warned beforehand as we could have brought our own if we’d known. Finally the lack of recycling facilities was disappointing, in today’s climate I would have thought there would be separate bins for recycling? Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

  • "Overall lovely stay and very nice situated cottage."

Would definitely stay again. The only issues we had were getting into the key safe on arrival it was very difficult getting it open after putting the key code in. Secondly the locking and unlocking of the door was difficult and almost impossible. Lastly the boiler was very loud considering it's a very peaceful place. However despite all of that was lovely. Very close to little haven and broad haven. Thank you very much for the relaxing stay. Also very clean and well maintained.

Thanks Briony for your feedback. I'm sorry about the lock issues- the key lock is a matter of jiggling the digits in place and we have asked the builder to look at the door. I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay overall and loved the peace! Jo Property Owner

  • "Well designed farm building conversion in a great area."

Let down by a lack of a welcome, with repairs from previous feedback not actioned and no response to issues found during stay sent to the servicing agent. I feel its being cleaned rather than a service check, finding the faults themselves and that could be easily resolved and I left a letter detailing the issues as at the same time of writing, the hotel inspector show was on providing the same feedback to an owner. The lack of welcome comment comes from the cup with four times tea bags, coffee, sugar sachets, an empty log basket and nothing for a dog not even a water bowl - Come on you can do better! A low cost welcome could be welsh cakes, milk, drinks and a dog biscuit to make that initial experience excellent and I've had at many other Sykes cottages.

Dear Tim Thanks for your feedback. we have subsequently updated our welcome pack and it's pretty much as you have outlined. we are also in the process of providing dog bowls in the laundry area. I'm sorry you had some service issues - I have taken this up with the cleaning team and have asked for a service check as well as a clean from the team Thanks again for your feedback. • "Me and my daughter enjoyed our stay, did find the curtain pole had pulled out of the wall , did try to phone the number in the book t it didn’t work ."

We found the cottage lovely but needs more items in the cupboard , need a jug more cooking dishes and serving spoons. There was a black knife missing . It could do with a mop and brush also in each cottage . Thank you for a lovely stay and would come again. We picked up our dogs poi’s but did find quite a few dog poos out side and I did pick them up. There was a little black and white dog wounding around the grounds. We found it difficult to open and close the front door and the seal at bottom was twisted too .

Thank you for your feedback - we are still in our first year of trading post-refurb and welcome improvement ideas. We will get onto the points you raised. Matthew Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage and perfect place to escape and explore with the pooch."

Owner was really helpful as we had a few problems with the EV point but all sorted quickly. Cottage was super comfy and has everything you need for a nice break away. The wifi isn't great but its a good excuse for a digital switch off while you're there!!

Thanks for your feedback. We have since had a major overhaul of the wifi and have now installed a system that provides good Wifi! Thanks again take care Property Owner

  • "Wi-Fi pretty much non existent which is frustrating and annoying."

Water pump in bedroom cupboard very loud. Mismatched cutlery. A. Minor issue but the cupboard stock could be better. The cottage was pleasant and well decorated and in a nice setting. Accommodation comfortable and a relaxing place to stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We value it and will act on your points, such as the mismatched cutlery, where we can. Property Owner
