Really clean, comfortable and cozy. Everything you would want in the kitchen and a tin of Welsh treats to welcome us! The only slight problem was the stairs and steps. Our daughter is visually impaired and would have benefitted from white markings on them. Overall, thoroughly recommend this cottage.

The cottage was very quaint and charming and was also very clean and well equipped. Our host left a lovely welcome gift, for our arrival, of Welsh cakes and a Bara Brith, together with fresh flowers on the table. We were made very welcome by the locals at the village pub, The Brook Inn and enjoyed the entertainment provided and some great chats with people from the village. Fisherman's Cottage is ideally placed for visiting so many of the beautiful bays and seaside towns along the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast and within a 15 minute drive to Milford Haven and within easy reach of Haverfordwest West. We enjoyed walking and exploring the coast and took some fabulous photos to remind ourselves of a great week.

We enjoyed returning to it at the end of a day's exploring. The owner, Pauline left us a Bara Brith, Welsh cakes and flowers which were much appreciated. The village has no shops and the local pub is now closed and for sale. Other visitors should be warned that there are no other items of food in the cottage not even salt and pepper. Most cottages that we've stayed in carry a few essentials, (lack of them may be due to Covid). THe nearest place to do a grocery shop is Milford Haven about 6 miles away or Haverfordwest. The oil fired central heating worked a treat and had the place warmed up in no time. WiFi was very good and reliable, the kitchen was well fitted out and equipped and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable with good quality bedding - all in all a cozy place to stay. The cottage is well located for local walks and plenty of places for the coastal path are easy to get to by car as are the towns of Pembroke, Milford Haven and Haverford West. We were looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay and this went on to tick all the boxes for us. There is a local pub a short walk away and we visited four of the five nights we were there, staff and customers were friendly and a decent choice of beers were on tap as well - the only slight downside to it was that there was no food available, I think that may well be a seasonal thing as the leaflet/menu for the pub (in the cottage) looked good - but perhaps our stay in February was a little early for that - it wasn't a problem as we shopped accordingly. There is a washing machine and dryer available in the connected 'outhouse' which all looked fine although it wasn't a facility that we needed to use. Pauline the owner called to make sure everything was OK and to check we were happy with things and whether of not there was anything we needed. The fresh flowers on the dining room table, the packet of Welsh Cakes and the loaf of Bara Brith were a nice touch as well. It was all good and there wasn't anything we didn't like, if we were to be picky then I'd say the water pressure for the shower wasn't fantastic BUT to be clear it wasn't a problem and there was ample hot water for showering and bathing.

  • "The photos of this property are out of date."

The house is badly in need of professional decorating, inside and out. What the photos don't show is that this is the scruffiest looking house on the scruffiest looking street in the village. It was at least pretty clean although would benefit from a thorough spring clean. It's dark and smelt musty every time we walked in. It's not very welcoming to come back to after having been out walking all day. I would give it 3 out of 5, which means I wouldn't go back I'm afraid. A vase of flowers and a few Welsh cakes waiting for us on arrival don't make up for what feels like a neglected property. Needs more attention to detail. The location is ok but there is only one place in the village to get food and that's the village pub which serves very average food. If you want a decent meal then you have to drive elsewhere. Only a 20 minute walk from the stunning coastal cliffs though.
