  • "This is the second time we have stayed on the farm this year."

Met the lovely owner both times. Really well decorated and comfortable one bed property, loads of space. Secure back garden for the dog (spaniel) was excellent. Favourite place was The Parrog, which is the river side of Newport beach, the dog was in his element.

  • "Amazing cottage that provided all we needed for a restful holiday, we're now home and desperately missing the quiet!"

The enclosed garden is perfect, especially with a bouncy 5 month old puppy who is keen to explore. We were kept well informed about an issue with the mains water on the day of our arrival, otherwise left to enjoy the property. This was our first holiday with the dog, so more details ahead of time about pet rules would have been useful - mainly no dogs in bedroom. We had a fantastic stay at Y Cwtch, we look forward to returning and will be recommending to others!

  • "We loved the location, and the cottage was very spacious and clean."

the owners were very friendly and helpful. There are some beautiful coastal walks and scenery nearby. We particularly loved Ceibwr Bay (approx. 5 min drive). The nearby Neolithic Pentre Ifan burial chamber is worth a visit, and it’s also worth visiting another burial chamber, Llech y Drybedd, which is on the farm, and you can walk to from the cottage. Near to Pentre Ifan, there is one of the few remaining ancient woodlands in Wales called Ty Canol. It was beautiful in early May with all the bluebells in full flower. We would happily return.

  • "Cottage was well equiped and in a lovely spot."

We found that the furniture and bed were not comfortable for us as they were too soft but this is a personal choice. I used the jaccuzzi twice which was lovely but it does use a lot of water. There were no instructions for the washing machine so perhaps the book in the kitchen could be updated. Although we would not visit the cottage again it was a lovely cottage on a well maintained farm.

Thank you for your comments . We appreciate that furnishings are personal preference and haven’t received any other complaints but will take it on board . The washing machine instructions are on the inside of the door …. We are on site and encourage guests to ask if any queries. Yes , the jacuzzi bath is a luxury which unfortunately uses water …. There is also a shower available should you not wish to use too much water . Y Cwtch is a lovely cottage and we always take feedback on board . Thank you for visiting. Our dog loved the country walls and footpaths, close to the coast and the nearest beach was 5 minutes in the car. Loved our break and would return tho it would be nice to book in at an earlier time.

Hi Gary , So glad you enjoyed Y Cwtch and had a great holiday . We are happy for guests to contact us if they require earlier check in and we will always accommodate if at all possible . We are also glad that you found plenty of lovely walks for your dog from the cottage. Hopefully , see you again . Regards Andrew and Anona Property Owner

Good holiday no good for dog owners as there isn't any were to walk the dogs

Thank you for your comments. We are on a rural farm and the cottage is dog friendly with an enclosed private garden . We have walks directly from our beautiful cottage up a private lane towards the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and beyond. There are fields aplenty and hundreds of local walks and all local beaches accept dogs. Maybe you should have explored the beautiful area a little more ! Property Owner

The lanes are very narrow for several miles so be aware you have to be able to reverse! The owners are on hand to help if needed. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need and always plenty of hot water . Can defantly recommend this lovely place

Thank you for your comments …. We are approximately 2 miles from a B road and on the main route to Newport Sands Beach. Although the roads are single track ( as most of rural Pembrokeshire) there are plenty of passing places on the roads . They appear slightly narrower at present as the council haven’t cut the hedges yet this year . We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and our cottage . Thank you Andrew and Anona Property Owner

Extremely clean with everything you need. The only downside for us was that we could not walk to the local pub, as it was longer than expected and along a very narrow single track lane with bends. We had to drive everywhere which rather spoilt the holiday for us. The area is beautiful which some lovely beaches and countryside. Thank you for making us welcome.

Thank you for your positive feedback, and we are sorry that not being able to drive to the pub spoilt your holiday. We are in a rural location with country roads , which is in our cottage information. We wish you all the best finding somewhere nearer to a pub for your next holiday. Property Owner

It is very well equipped (more than any other that we have stayed in) and the cupcakes were very welcome once we settled in with a nice cuppa. There was more than enough grounds at the back for our dog to have a good sniff with a lovely walk at the side of the farm. Newport is only about a 15 minute drive but we found that nothing was too far away. When we come back to this area will definitely come back as it suited our needs perfectly.

There was a number of information folders in the cottage which contained electrical goods info. How to deal with waste and recycling. Also lots of tourist info for the area. The owners were on hand on arrival day making us feel very welcome.

Thank you for your comments, the owner has confirmed there is a door next to the stairs which can be closed to prevent dogs from going upstairs. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the future. Thanks Again. Property Owner

Everything that could have been thought of has been, even down to very nice cup cakes on the day of arrival. The bed was extremely comfortable and very large too. Very friendly hosts. Stunning area. Plenty to do and see. Superb for walking. Very dog friendly. Great facilities, managed to make home cooked meals without a problem. Lovely big fridge to keep fresh food for the whole week. Great to have a door between the kitchen and stairs to stop the dogs trying to go up. Also a great area behind the door to store things away from the dogs. Fully enclosed back garden for the dogs. Really nice area for them. Very clear rubbish instructions and good selection of leaflets and information about the area. Our personal preference would be a more comfy sofa we could snuggle in, but just personal preference and the time of year......it is impossible to cater for everyone’s tastes.
