"Me and my son had a wonderful stay at 171 Seatown."
It was very comfortable and a real home away from home which is just what we were looking for. Glenn the owner was super helpful and nothing was too much bother. Would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.
Hi Debbie, I'm glad to hear that you had an enjoyable stay. Home from home is just the vibe I was hoping to give visitors so I appreciate that feedback.
Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts.

"It took time to warm up, the electric heater in the living room was good once we had looked at the instructions online."
The bedroom upstairs had an oil filled electric radiator which got very very hot & could only be on or off, so that was a nuisance at night when we needed less heat.
It is in such a great location, literally a minute walk to the sea front. Then up the hill into the town centre.
We had everything we needed, lots of crockery & cutlery, cooking utensils, plus a new cooker, fridge with small freezer box, and a washer dryer.
The shower was lovely, powerful hot water.
Comfortable sofa & chairs, big TV with a firestick for Netflix etc.
We had a lovely time in such a cute cottage, Cullen is a great place for a holiday.
Hi Graham, glad you enjoyed Cullen. i've made a note re the bedroom radiator, it sounds like a replacement is in order.Thabks for the feedback.

"The cottage itself is ideally situated for the beach and coastal walks."
I liked the old-fashioned layout of the cottage. The kitchen was okay, with everything you would need for cooking and dining in. The living room was warm and cosy.
The beds were comfortable, but the bedrooms lacked any storage. The toilet and shower were upstairs but were really small, with no shelving for toiletries. The stairs were extremely steep, almost like climbing a ladder. My wife is disabled and really struggled to use them.
There is no garden. I liked the place, but my wife and dog couldn't manage the stairs. As the toilet and main bedroom were upstairs, this would cause major problems for elderly or disabled guests, as well as young children.
I'm trying to put a positive spin on the place. It's great for young, fit people, but not great for elderly or disabled guests, or young children.

"Snug little place felt like being at home."
Everything that we needed. Nice and handy for the beach that's the one reason I booked it as I have stayed in those cottages before.
Thank you for the positive feedback. "At home" is just the way I want guests to feel, just as my family and I felt in the cottage for many years. Haste ye back!

"Not that easy to find due to street numbering."
Cosy and comfortable accommodation generally, a bit dated. Efficient heating and hot water. Kitchen really tight for space for 2 adults to work with unnecessary number of chairs and table too large for the space. Downstairs bedroom very cramped and bedside lighting inaccessible. Stairs steep and a bit tricky. Shower room very cramped, I noticed a few cleanliness issues. Great shower. Better use could be made of the Mezzanine, a free standing clothes rail with hangers would be useful. There are a few hooks for clothes in the cottage but only one coat hanger! A few unfinished repairs/decor issues detract from appearance. Having said all that, great location, easy access to the beach and lots of nearby street parking. Being pet friendly a bonus!

"Disappointed with aspects of the property."
There is not an enclosed garden, it said on details it has. I specifically chose this property as one couple had a dog. No curtains in the ground floor bedroom, had to put a bin bag at the window. Several areas within the cottage could do with a coat of paint. The bedding whilst clean was very crushed. The stairs are an accident waiting to happen, at least have carpet strips. It said one parking space, not sure where you would park? Location is great but everything else was below average.
Hi Fiona,
Thanks for the feedback. I am sorry that you were disappointed with the cottage. I will amend the description to more accurately describe the strip at the rear. If you can let me know what areas needed painting will take care of it next time I am up there and also attend to the other issues you raised.
Hope the rest of your stay was enjoyable.
Best Regards,
Glenn

"The cottage is typical of the area with small rooms and sloping ceilings."
Clean and tidy, filled with family pieces giving it a homely feel.
The stairs are steep, with shallow treads and would be difficult for those with mobility or balance issues. We are in our 70s and managed with caution but a friend who visited found them extremely difficult, especially going down.
The shower is tiny and crammed in the space beside the sink which you have to negotiate to get in.
The downstairs bedroom has a double bed which fills the room leaving no space for luggage. Upstairs has more room but nowhere to hang clothes. We used the airer on the landing.
We could only get BBC programmes on the television.
The kitchen is basic but adequate.
There is no garden but space for bins and parking for 1 car.
It is well situated for the beach and Cullen and its surrounding towns and villages are always worth a visit and for that alone it suited us.

"We had a wonderful holiday!"
It felt like being in a home, you could properly relax, rather than a show house. We were steps from the beach which was amazing for us and the dog. Slightly tricky for taller people, my husband is 6 foot. We had everything we needed in this lovely compact home from home. We will definitely return.
A couple of things that would make the cottage even better, a better bread knife, hooks for coats as you come in and a bench outside.
Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.
So glad you enjoyed your stay at our wee place. I'm sorry I can't do much about the ceiling heights but can definitely sort out the other things ! I'm happy that you mentioned the place feeling like a home away from home , which is exactly what it was for my family when the children were little - and our dog Millie loved the beach too! Happy to welcome you back anytime!

"The cottage is in a lovely location but the cottage, as discussed with the owner, was in somewhat need of TLC."
we had to report a number of issues, which were repaired straight away but it did not get the holiday off to a relaxing start.
The owners were lovely and gave us a gesture of good will, however it meant we didn't really relax fully.
I would suggest a bit of maintenance would go a long way for any future visitors.
Hi, thanks for sharing your experience, I will certainly take your suggestions on board. Best wishes, Glenn

"Superb location in amongst the charming, higglety-pigglety cottages of the seatown, 171 is within a short walk to all 3 beaches."
Perfect for popping back for lunch or after a swim. The cottage is compact but has everything needed for a seaside holiday with plenty of radiators and hot water, welcome after a day on the beach. The owner was easily contacted and very helpful.
Thanks for the review!
