  • "From our earlier stay in April to this latest stay, not sure why the house has gone downhill so much?"

The curtains in the lounge won’t properly draw and need taking down and re-hanging or replacing with new heading tapes and hooks. There is a foul aroma of urine in the ground floor WC that comes from the toilet brush. The main bathroom shower surround is falling off and the rotten/black mouldy wood is showing underneath. The garden wasn’t even swept or shrubbery trimmed. There is no welcome pack of any description, not even any kitchen roll or even 1 extra toilet roll. For the money charged for this house it’s quite unacceptable. I’ve stayed twice now, but for this standard, at such a high price, there won’t be a third stay.

I'm very sorry to hear that you were disappointed. We do make it clear in the property details that no welcome pack is provided although one can be requested from Best of Suffolk in advance. We left the house in early September - I'd personally trimmed the bushes, jet washed the garden and swept up the leaves. The cleaner does sweep the garden but leaves will fall. I can only apologise about the curtains, they have now been rehung, thank you for pointing out the issue. The shower has been fixed. Thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely and comfortable and spacious for us."

It was extremely well equipped with everything you need for your stay. There were a couple of very minor maintenance issues that I’m sure have or will be addressed (curtains off hooks and broken blind) but nothing that impacted our stay. It may be helpful if the owner could leave details of where the thermostat is located as we took an age to find it on a chilly evening! (On a shelf on the dresser in kitchen). Although the parking is on street we had no problem parking outside the cottage each day. We will definitely return when we stay in Aldeburgh.

Hi, I'm so sorry about the blind and the curtains. Please could you let me know in which room the blind was broken? The curtains in the sitting room are always a problem and we do intend on replacing them soon. The thermostat information should have been in the welcome information. I'll ask BofS to ensure it's there. Very pleased you liked the house. Apologies for the small issues you had. Best and Warm regards Pippa Davidson (Owner)) Property Owner
