"Stayed in Aldeburgh many times, often on Crabbe Path, so a bit concerned about the location but it was perfect."
Really quiet and convenient.. Like everywhere in Aldeburgh off road parking can be an issue but we had none, precious little you could do about it anyway.

"We enjoyed our stay at Lavender House but have to agree with previous visitors that the beds are too small and the mattresses should be replaced."
However, when looking at the description of the house again, no measurements of the size of beds are given ( many other agencies provide this information ). So we should have asked. We missed the coffee machine which are in the pictures as well as the handshower in the bathroom. That was positively misleading. Everything else was nice and clean.

"Overall Lavender House provided us with a good base for our holiday with well appointed facilities and plenty of space."
On arrival there was a strong smell of paint in the kitchen. It looked like the ceiling had been recently painted with evidence of roller spray and splashes on the units, fittings and floor around the room. It also looked like only one part of the room had been done as the other part looked very tired. We felt that the bed linen, particularly the duvets were in need of updating and the towels were also showing signs of use with some being stained. If this is a matter for the linen company then it should be addressed. There were a number of maintenance issues, blinds not working, curtain poles bent out of line and toilet flush handles missing parts and falling off. I managed to repair one blind and reposition the curtain pole but this should be addressed by the letting agent not the guest! There is a shed which guests don’t have access too so we couldn’t store our bikes securely (this could easily be achieved) and the understairs cupboard is full of paint pots which could easily be moved to the shed to give guests more space for storage. We ended up having cycling’s helmets and picnic blankets oiled up in corners of the house rather than stowed away. Lavender House was a great house for our holiday and our friends have rebooked for next year already. With as very small amount of effort this could be an excellent place, please make it so for our next visit!

"Our second stay here."
Very clean, some small repairs needed and handled with owner. Dining chairs very noisy to move, maybe use shields on chair legs? Also very hard if sitting for any length of time. Garden well maintained. Grandsons loved pool table in bedroom!

"Nice house lovely location, bed in front master is too small."

"It is such a shame as the house is lovely, well positioned, and tasteful decoration."
However, the beds particularly the main bedroom with en-suite were awful, such a small bed, mattress has had a lot of wear & tare or just a cheap one, my husband & I didn’t get one good nights sleep whilst we were there, we even tried the other room, & got to the point we were going to try the bunk beds, but came home a day early to get some sleep, Plus, other than the cupboard on the landing nowhere to hang your clothes. So disappointed because it could be the perfect house. We stay in aldeburgh every year for a couple of weeks & more & lavender house was lovely but the most disappointing.

"Just returned from 5 very happy and comfortable days at Lavender House."
Ideal for two families over the carnival weekend. Thank you

"Lovely house."
Very comfortable lounge furnishings especially the leather chair which I claimed! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would expect in your own home. The various food stuffs in the cupboard was a nice touch.A lovely big table should the house have more guests. The beds were very comfortable and lots of pillows and cushions available if you needed them. My only observation would be no hanging place for clothes in the main bedrooms. A rack of pegs with hangers would be easy to put up and solve the problem. A very practical garden with a good sized table and comfortable chairs plus space to kick a ball for my grandson’s. The BBQ was a good addition although we didn’t use it. All in all it felt very home from home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend.

About the location
ALDEBURGH
Thorpeness 2.1 miles; Saxmundham 7.2 miles.
The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!
