  • "This was our second stay in Mariners Cottage."

We had liked it last year and thought we’d come back in the hope the bathroom, which was the only disappointment last year, would have improved. As last year, the whole house was very pleasant, except for the somewhat neglected feel of the bathroom. Towels & bedding are of a high standard, cleanliness throughout was good (except for the bathroom floor) and the kitchen equipment adequate for a holiday stay. Aldeburgh is a pleasant town with a lovely beach and plenty to enjoy in the surrounding area.

  • "This cottage is wonderful."

Great location, lovely outside space and comfortable. We have stayed here 3 times now and love it. Small points - needs more coat hooks downstairs. There’s nowhere to put anything except one hook on the front door. Not enough when you’re a family of 4! Also could do with a microwave perhaps?

Hello Thank you for your suggestions , we are always happy to add extra features for our guests. The oven is a built-in compact oven with a micro wave function. This may not be apparent to all guests ,so we will make this information clearer in our booklet. We hope you will revisit Mariners next year. Property Owner

  • "The bathroom needs work: The shower soaks the whole bathroom and there is no hand shower."

The sink needs a mixed tap.

  • "We loved the cottage!"

It is cosy and intimate, we liked the decor and the underfloor heating. Kitchen is small but provided everything we needed. The bed & bedding are very comfortable and clean. We did eat out a lot and there’s plenty of choice of good restaurants, pubs and a excellent bakery. The ONLY slight drawback (if you could call that!) was the bathroom. Compared to the rest of the house it felt a bit neglected or forgotten. The bath towels were clean & of excellent standard, BUT the grouting between the floor tiles could do with a deep clean. We certainly would book Mariners Cottage again!

  • "Cottage in a great central location and very well equipped."

Comfy sofas and beds (though slight stale bedroom odour in Master on arrival was something not encountered in previous holiday cottages and was somewhat off putting). Lovely painted decoration of all rooms, especially the lipstick pink toilet! Garden also a bonus, unless you want to sit out when the chip shops fire up.

  • "A beautiful home in a beautiful area that is perfect for exploring Aldeburgh."

Literally thirty seconds' walk from both the water and the high street and with all the mod cons that you'd need in a home from home. Plenty of crockery, great kitchen equipment (even including a coffee pot and Velvetiser for post-walk hot chocolate!), comfortable beds and a lovely atmosphere. The only thing I'd flag is it's an old cottage - so if you're especially tall you might have to duck in a few places. We absolutely loved our stay though and are looking forward to returning.

  • "Overall a great first experience in Aldeburgh thanks to the lovely cottage which is well appointed with quality furnishings."

The location is superb. Thank you for the lovely welcome gifts. Only a couple of observations which were of no concern to us but might be to other guests: No microwave. The television only worked via catch up (BBC had subtitles!) Will definitely return.
