  • "Lovely cottage in a great location."

Really well equipped kitchen and comfortable accommodation.

  • "Pebble Cottage is a fabulous property, which we have stayed in before."

This time our stay was blighted by the noisy building site right next door that started work at 8am. This is not a new building site, so it would have been nice if we had been pre warned and even better if we had been given the opportunity switch properties.

  • "The property was not as advertised in main photo as major building works going on from 8."

00 to 4.00pm right next to property. This work was not a recent development and had been ongoing for months - we were not informed of this and if we had, we would not have booked this property. Had to keep doors and windows closed due to constant noise of drilling and hammering. Couldn't use the "tranquil" courtyard due to building noise. Curtains and blinds had to be kept closed all for privacy as builders could see in through them. It ruined our much needed break away. We contacted Sykes the day we arrived about the above and they were very quick to start looking into it and also said they were not aware of this problem.

  • "Lovely cottage with close proximity to the main front and sea."

We had a lovely comfortable stay for 4 days. There is lots to see and do in and around Aldeburgh and great restaurants. We would come back.

  • "This is the second time we have stayed in Pebble Beach Cottage, perfectly located with only a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants."

Comfortable and clean, and liked the added bonus of a second sofa in the lounge as a lot more comfortable to sit on than the previous chairs that were there. Beds comfortable. Bedding and towels provided along with other extras like T towel, washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, and food wraps. Cupboards well stocked with crockery, pots and utensils, everything you should need for your holidays. Nice welcome present of wine and chocolate too. The property has a nice safe enclosed garden, there are a few steep steps leading down from the parking area to the garden. Only issue was the back door was very hard to unlock and we struggled to lock it at times, this maybe due to the wood expanding as its winter, same with the back gate opening as use to stick. If you have a dog you will need to block the lounge door with chairs to stop it going in there at nights as this does not close shut, also it would be useful to have a stairgate as there is no way to shut your dog off from going up there without blocking the stairs. The doors do close up stairs though to stop them entering the rooms should they get past the barricade.

  • "Great location, Pebble Beach Cottage provided everything you could ask for."

The patio garden, parking and proximity to decent dog walks makes this one of the best places we have stayed in.

  • "We enjoyed a great week with the house being well positioned for the town and beach and at the same time being in a quieter part."

Great access to walks in all directions. Everything worked for us in the house and would recommend it.

  • "We had a very happy stay."

Great location. Comfortable beds etc. A few things needing some attention - Dishwasher needed salt. Lots of the cooking pots/pans weren’t properly clean. Beading on side gate was half off with very rusty nails. And it would have been good to have a hot towel rail in the bathroom as only way of drying towels was to put the heating on. Only real gripe was a house sleeping 5 should be able to sit 5 in front of a movie (we had some wet days!). Tiny sofa and 2 occasional chairs.

  • "Great location."

A frequent visitor to Aldeburgh I picked the cottage for that reason. Really happy with the kitchen and the upstairs including the bathroom but - living room is disappointing with extremely tired sofa and chair and small TV. As a consequence we did not use the room. Not an issue in summer months but should you visit in Autumn or Winter I would hope the owners upgrade the furnishings. Parking a bit if a nightmare - difficult as 5 cars use/ access the area. If you drive a large vehicle it would not be suitable. Access to back gate via stereo steps - not made clear on details. Dangerous handrail needs replacing - please be careful. Also front & back garden could do with a bit of a tidy up.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Pebble Beach Cottage."

The Cottage is comfortable, well equipped, is spacious for a family of 4 and is walking distance of Aldeburgh town centre, the beach and the marshes. The only minor downside to the stay was that there was no working kettle - it looked like it had failed a PAT test - but no replacement was given - we are resilient though and used a saucepan! I am sure by now that has been rectified. We loved Aldeburgh and the surrounding areas of Southwold and Framlingham - we would love to return again soon to discover much more more.

  • "Overall we had a lovely stay but did feel that it could have been made better by a few small changes."

    1. The house was extremely cold when we arrived so out first night was very cold 2. A few games/pens etc in the house would have been nice for the children 3. The sofa in the lounge is very uncomfortable so there was nowhere nice to relax in the evenings 5. We missed the nice touch of some coffee sachets/ biscuits/chocolates that we used to get when staying in best of Suffolk holidays. Unfortunately due to the price rises over the last year we don’t feel we will be able to return again in October this year and this makes us very sad as we live our holidays in Aldeburgh.

  • "Had a lovely weeks stay in Pebble Beach Cottage."

The cottage was clean and spacious with everything you need for your stay. It has a nice sized courtyard garden and parking. The house is well situated only a couple of minutes walk from the High Street and beach front. The only thing that I might suggest would be that the heating is popped on before arrival as I don't think it had been stayed in before we arrived and the thermostat was switched off so took at least 24/36 hours for the house to warm up properly and the beds were stone cold because of this, even with the log burner on. We would definitely stay here again and can recommend.
