  • "What a beautiful space you have created."

We have enjoyed every moment from the house to the land that you are fortunate custodians of. It was the perfect place to gather our family, young and old. Dad had 39 species of birds, muntjac deer, brown hare, rabbit, frog, newt & stoat. We hope to visit again soon.

  • "Thank you for a wonderful stay."

We are three generations of a family, gathering for a week away (we like in Yorkshire). We had the best weather, perfect for trips to the beach, the broads and exploring the local area - including the pubs! We ventured to Southwold, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings, Wroxham and took a boat trip on the Broads.

  • "What a beautiful house ,plenty of space for all three generations of the family to enjoy."

We loved relaxing in the wood burning hot tub and the children all enjoyed making pizza from scratch and cooking them in the pizza oven . Lots of fabulous memories made in this amazing house

A beautiful house, handsomely designed with gorgeous views. Beds were immaculate and very comfortable, bathrooms perfect with the most amazing showers. We have stayed in many houses, but never one quite as stunning as this one. We hope to return. It made for the perfect Christmas.

  • "This place was absolutely amazing and far beyond exceeded our expectations."

It was absolutely beautiful and had a real luxurious feel to it. I chose this place to propose to my partner at the little pond to the rear and it was stunning. The rooms are large and bed so comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and a wonderful touch that we received a recipe and ingredients for the pizza oven. The hot tub was great. We all loved our stay here and we would like to come back every year! Thank you so much!

  • "When we booked Babbelkous we had wondered whether it would live up to the photographs, it did and more."

This eco house sits perfectly in its landscape and offered something to each of our family spanning three generations. Of note was its open aspect (much glass affording many views), the overall comfort, underfloor heating giving consistent temperatures throughout, spaces in which to hide away with a book and the large sociable kitchen. Then outside, in the courtyard area, entertainment was to be had as cooking and heating with wood was (successfully) mastered and the welcome pack of pizza ingredients put to good use. The wider outside spaces offered walks and opportunities for much wildlife spotting. And, whilst Babbelkous’ location is rural, access to our favourite coastal locations was easy, the best of both worlds. We very much welcomed this opportunity to live in such an amazing home with an eco focus and look forward to coming again.

  • "Babbelkous is an amazing property, juts like something from Grand Designs."

It is a fabulous family home, let out as a holiday property. The spaces are light and warm, with plenty of places to sit (although not together) and nice views. The beds are comfortable, with nice linens. Although the property is between a railway line and an A road, it is peaceful and quiet. There is a courtyard garden with long tables, barbeque, pizza oven and hot tub. All those modern conveniences mean that this is a complicated house. There are a dozen thermostats, an air exchange system where the fans run all night, windows that confuse grandparents, and soooo many unlabelled light switches. It would all be obvious when you lived there for a while, but turning the lights out before bed invariably took ages. Similarly the wood fired pizza oven and hot tub are not easy things to get right on your first attempt. We had a lovely week there, but at times it did feel more like a working holiday than a holiday.

Thanks very much for the feedback. I think it a great idea to explain the lights a little more and i will do this in the next version of the welcome/house pack. With lighting the fires in the wood-burners, and hot tub ... all the wood we use is season dried on the farm which means with some good kindling and a couple of firelighters - the fires should easy to light ... but we may strengthen how to do this in the online manuals. Thanks again for your comments and for your support whilst on the farm! Property Owner

  • "Fantastic setting and had a great family weekend."

Some issues with level of maintenance which took the edge of the stay. Kitchen sink was unusable due to leak - Reported but not repaired while we were there. Both ensuite shower doors upstairs did not close due to faults on runners and seal. Downstairs shower (steam room) drain was slow so any shower of more than a couple of minutes had water up to the shower door.

Hello Wendy, thank you for the feedback. And thanks for the notification of the sink in the kitchen. it was only when you arrived that i heard of the problem and we could not get a plumber there before your stay ended. Equally I hadn't heard of an issue with the door - but again, we are awaiting a part to re-install it. Once again, thank you for taking the time to get back to us. It allows us to fix the problems before that become more serious. And apologies again for inconvenience caused. Property Owner

  • "This house is fabulous."

We were searching for a large house that could accommodate our families for a long weekend. We couldn’t ask for anything more. We loved the excluded property, modern design of the house and of course the pizza oven! The house owner was very informative and helpful with our needs. We had a lovely welcome basket which was very thoughtful. The house had all the amenities you could need. All of the beds and pillows were very comfortable not to mention everything was spotless. I was really impressed of how eco friendly the house was with all renewable energy. Heated floors were a hit. The sunken garden In the backyard is absolutely fabulous, we loved being able to spend time outside together. The only thing we wanted to change was that we wished we booked our stay a little longer. We enjoyed it so much we didn’t want to leave. If you’re looking for a jaw dropping stay this house will impress.

  • "We had an amazing visit!"

The accommodation was beautiful and the scenery stunning. It was very well equipped and was great for my mum who was in a wheelchair as it had the ground level bedroom with ensuite. One suggestion I would make, to make all facilities fully available to everyone, including those who have mobility difficulties/who are disabled is to have a television on the ground level as my mum was unable to get up the stairs to the TV area so we was unable to enjoy a cosy family movie night one evening. Other than that the accommodation is perfect for a wonderful break away and the Pizza Oven was a lovely added touch! Maybe a hot tub in the future could be an added bonus! Thank you for a wonderful stay x

Thank you for the feedback ... and I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay. I think a TV downstairs makes great sense for those that cannot mount the stairs - so I will add that in the future. I am also very pleased that you enjoyed the Suffolk countryside - though i can take no credit for that! Property Owner

Well located for shops and coasts yet set in a wonderful easy accessible location looking over fields. The house was very spacious with good bedrooms, great ensuites and all modern comforts and conveniences. Would definitely stay again. Thanks.
