  • "Fantastic property, with lots of extras."

We had a great birthday weekend for my husband.

  • "Possibly the best property we have stayed at as a family, perfectly located on the beach, impeccably furnished by someone with a good eye for detail, which left us relaxing in luxury."

    I’d give 11 out of 10 if I could

  • "Dunes is a beautiful house."

Location is amazing with fantastic views and perfect for walking into Southwold and getting the ferry to Walberswick. The house has everything we needed and was spotless. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

  • "Staying at the Dunes is a total joy!"

It’s like walking in to an exciting warm hug, with the added extra of a wonderful view and direct access to the dunes and beach. It is as comfortable for just two people, as it is when we had all 7 of our extended family there. The enclosed and safe garden is a massive bonus for both dogs and children. Beautifully equipped, everything works and has been planned with ease of use and fun in mind. Thank you for allowing us to share such a perfect place,

  • "Everything about the house was high quality with a couple of exceptions."

At this price point rattan style garden chairs are not acceptable as lounge furniture. Also sky sports subscription would be an excellent addition to the property. Other than that no complaints at all.

  • "We had such a fantastic stay at The Dunes, one of the best holiday homes we have stayed at."

It was clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated and the location was perfect for strolling to Southwold or down the harbour to get fish and chips or the little ferry across to Walberswick. It was home from home and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend booking The Dunes and we will be returning in the future!

When you first arrive the front of the property does not do it justice and when you walk in it’s just so homely. This was our second time and we are looking to book again for a 3rd. Cant wait to go back. The Bewicks.

Exactly as described on the website. Warm, comfortable and well equipped. Could not have asked for any better. Many thanks :)

  • "We loved the location of the holiday home."

To be able to walk out of the garden gate on to the dunes and the beach was ideal for us with two small children and a dog. Having three bathrooms and a downstairs loo was very convenient. The furniture was comfortable and practical and we were impressed with the number of games to play. The kitchen was well equipped and we even managed to bake a birthday cake. The bar area was great and so was the general decor.

  • "Fabulous accommodation in a great location for the beach and for enjoying all that Southwold and Walberswick offer."

We enjoyed our 4 nights in March and looking forward to returning for longer in the summer. Parking will be easier when the dropped curb is sorted but this is really a minor niggle ;)

  • "The property has been skilfully up dated and very nicely furnished internally , however, had we been a party of 8 we would have found 2 of the claimed 4 double bedrooms far to small to be comfortable ."

That apart, internally it was 1st class . Externally it is a disappointment . It is at odds with all the effort that has been made inside . It's situation and general presentation is poor .

Thank you for booking the Dunes, I do hope you enjoyed your stay in Southwold. Sorry to hear the bedrooms were not to your requirements, it hasn't been a problem so far. I totally agree with your comments regarding the exterior of the house. Southwold is in a conservation area and therefore any renovations to the exterior of all properties require planning consent. I am pleased to say that consent has now been granted for a full width dropped kerb and driveway, a side porch, new windows and doors and alterations to the garden and patio. As the house is in huge demand, the problem now is actually having the time to carry out the work?! However, I am looking to complete all of these by the end of the year, in order to bring the standard of the outside to the same as in inside. Thank you for your feedback. All the best.
