Plenty of room for everyone. Good base for Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Countryside setting, quiet and peaceful. Only small thing but lots of cobwebs and spiders inside the property, especially in the annex. Would still recommend and would return.

Good afternoon, glad you had a fantastic stay, I will look into the problem you have mentioned, and apologies about it . We are constantly fighting cobwebs on all fronts. Cheers Rob Property Owner

It might be worth mentioning that contractors may come on site to the property as we were informed the next morning when the manager knocked at the door. So bear in mind if your dog is loose in the garden that the gate could be opened. The garden was lovely and big but for us it wasn’t as secure as we believed it was going to be.

Good afternoon , glad you had a great time. We apologies about the garden not being secure. We are constantly trying to keep an eye on the fencing and replacing it when needed. Cheers Rob Property Owner

Extremely lucky with the gorgeous weather, which meant we could take advantage of the barbecue, added bonus of the annexe which meant the twins could have their own space, which went down a treat. Would definitely recommend Cherry Tree Cottage - we are already looking at dates to return in the summer.

  • "Had a lovely time here, it’s a nice place to stay and the location is good."

The double bed in the room without the en-suite is too small. Both our feet were hanging off the end. My daughter found the single bed in the small room really uncomfortable as the mattress isn’t great. It would’ve been better to have had a good sized double bed in the smaller double room and also the en-suite room which has the 2 twin beds. Didn’t really make sense to have twin beds in a master bedroom. The 2 twin beds in the annex are ridiculously small. Again either a full size double or 2 decent sized singles would be better. The heating situation wasn’t ideal as it went off at around 9:30am which is the time we’d be using bathrooms etc and upstairs got cold quite quickly and stayed cold until heating came back on late afternoon and no option to override the timer. Given it is winter, it would’ve been nice to keep the whole house warm as went spent a lot of time indoors. The garden was disappointing. Description states it’s fully enclosed, however it was unsuitable for our dogs as the fencing is so low and also had gaps in the main gate wire so our smaller dog could’ve got out and our larger dog could easily get over the main fence particularly as it sloped lower, nearer to the road. Perhaps sectioning off from the rear patio would be an idea to allow guests with dogs to let their dogs out in a secure section? We had to put our dogs on leads every time we let them out to go to the toilet which was really annoying, especially late at night. The kitchen area is lovely and well equipped, but cooking a meal for 8 in a single oven with only one shelf proved problematic. Appreciate there is the Agar however that takes 4 hours to heat up for cooking. The house was well maintained and really nice and clean but we wouldn’t stay here again due to the points mentioned above.

Hi , thankyou for your feedback . The master bedroom with en suite has a king size bed, the second room is a twin single beds with en suite bathroom. The double bedroom without an en suite bathroom is a standard double bed which is 4ft 6 ins x 6ft 3ins and we have not had a complaint about its size before. We will assess the mattress in single room and apologise if it was uncomfortable. The single beds in the annex are smaller due the the size of the annex, but it is certainly something that I can look into. if you were not happy with the heating situation times which they do come on morning, lunchtime and evening , if you had let know me during in your stay, I could of changed this for you. With regards to the garden fencing, we have not received a complaint about the fence not being high enough before, which currently is around 4ft of the ground, which provides a reasonable fence height . I will check the wire below the entrance gates and inspect the rest of the fencing. The Age has two additional ovens and understand that one needs to plan ahead. We are sorry to hear that you will not be visiting again. Cheers Rob Property Owner

I’d suggest making it clear that the property perimeter is secure (fetching/chicken wire, including the main gate), as this was a real plus for us and the dogs and we didn’t realise this until the Saturday. Mention more about the facilities - very large fully equipped kitchen, large dining room table with 11 chairs, multiple lounges and tvs, bbq, washing machine/tumble dryer (utility room) and with drying racks and tablets, dog bits, etc…. Only thing I’d mention is that as there were 9 of us, we could have done with more loo roll as we ran out on the second day and kitchen roll would be handy (but gets it’s maybe not essential). Thanks, we really did enjoy our stay and wish we’d stayed longer.

The rooms were all beautifully furnished with every convenience provided. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials. We were a party of six adults; four wanted separate bedrooms and two were happy to share so had the 'garden room'. This proved to be smaller than we had anticipated from the photos and was limited for storage space but perfectly cosy and would be ideal for teenagers to have some space to themselves. We placed an online food order with Morrison's to arrive an hour after our arrival and that worked out perfectly. We ate out at the local pub The George and Dragon Thurton. Lovely food, great service but further to walk than 'google maps' indicated; a great leg stretch to walk off lunch afterwards. A wonderful holiday break and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to family and friends. Many thanks :-)

The cottage was outstanding and one of the best we've stayed at in at least the last 10 years. Everything was as described, clean and everything functional. If you are considering this cottage, it's great. The only thing I'd like to see is, they should consider adding a dedicated bird feeding station into the garden by the trees - we brought one with us and had some great birdwatching moments with lots of nuthatches and would be a simple but good addition in my opinion.

We had plenty of space and the property was very clean and well equipped. We really appreciated the bottled water in the fridge in the hot weather. The welcome book is a must read as it states where the keys are for the annexe etc and has some local pubs and small choice of take always, we went to loddon the swan on night of arrival, a short drive away with parking and the food was very nice. We really enjoyed the surrounding countryside and for us it was a good location to get into Norwich to go to the university. We were unsure before we arrived as a large party coming from multiple areas whether we would be able to park our 4 cars as the listing stated 3, however there was plenty of space. We also brought our own bbq but found there was a small in built one on site, with outside garden seating, which you can use disposable bbqs in. As we were a large group we used our own as it was bigger. Inside there is a king bedroom + bunk beds and en-suite, a twin bedroom with en-suite, a double room, a single room with upstairs family bathroom with bath, a further bathroom with shower downstairs and then an outside annexe with twin room and en-suite with shower. Stating as I wasn’t 100% sure until arriving of the bedroom / bathroom situation and where best to put people, possibly this could be more descriptive in the listing to give people a better idea before booking. The annexe is a great addition, however the top garden is quite steep so we had some able bodied family members stay up there, would be great for any older teenage children or a couple with young child who might want more space away from the main site. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and had a lovely memorable time.

Lots of room, lots of garden space, very well equipped, very clean and comfortable - hard to fault it to be honest - certainly one of if not the best holiday rental we've stayed in. • "We were a party of ten adults (four couples & two singles) and the cottage suited our requirements perfectly in early September."

The open plan living room/kitchen/dining room worked well for us and we didn't need to use the second sitting room, but it would be useful for a quiet room to go to for reading or relaxing. The cottage is well equipped with modern facilities and is located in a very quiet location with no light pollution- great for looking at the stars on a clear night. There is a useful outdoor terrace with seating for ten which was nice for afternoon tea or a glass of wine pre-dinner. The bunk bed room is not just for children (the owner's description referred to children sized beds) but we had an adult use the bottom bunk which is full size. There is plenty of off-road parking in the sloping drive. We brought our bikes & had two rides round the local area on quiet roads as well as good walking to the Broads. We ate out three times in Loddon which is about four miles away and used a local taxi firm (for ten of us this was £60 return in total in two taxis). We also did a boat ride on the Broads & had a day in Norwich (about 8 miles NW of the cottage). We also had lunch & a wine tasting at Chet Vineyards (an easy walk from the cottage) which was fun, but a little expensive at £50 pp. We also enjoyed a day out on the coast in Southwold- about forty minutes drive. We would highly recommend a stay at the cottage for a big group of friends or families. The only minor issues to mention are that if you plan on cooking a meal the evening you arrive, the Aga cooker takes a couple of hours or more to heat up. We couldn't initially find the key to the apartment in the garden, which was in the cupboard in the main house & the instructions about that were not obvious- the owner should have left them in the hallway (which is where the spare main front door key was located). We enjoyed our stay & we were blessed with lovely weather- thank you.

We did not know till day 6 that we could switch off the AGA, as it was very hot in very hot weather, please either turn off aga in summer or add to instruction book. Luckily we bought our own fans, but no fans were provided if very warm as bedrooms are in the roof. The microwave in the oven is not as useful as a separate cheap microwave would be. The outside villa was not as expected as per photos I.e.no kitchen, fridge etc. Two small bedrooms upstairs, there was no were to hang clothes, so a wardrobe or hanging rail would be really helpful.

It is very spacious with tasteful decoration to a high standard. It is also well equipped with fittings and furniture throughout of good quality. Armchair seating in the lounge could get a bit cramped but we all found our own space. The single television did require a bit of management between the grandchildren’s game consoles and adult viewing. All contributing to an enjoyable holiday. However, we found a few niggly things that I feel necessary to provide comments. 1. The property is described as pet friendly but a close inspection of the boundary fences revealed large gaps through which our small dog would escape. Also a large gap beneath the main entrance gate. 2. The large dishwasher lower rack did not roll smoothly in and out of the machine. It appeared that one of the front wheels was misplaced and one was missing. This was found in a glass dish on the window sill. Within 30 seconds it was fixed. 3. The toilet seat in the annex was loose and made it difficult to use. 4. Our arrival time for key collection was delayed by two hours and we had to vacate an hour earlier. Told it was for additional cleaning to meet Covid 19 requirements. Personally I could see no evidence of any additional cleaning. Yes, the cottage and annex was reasonably clean but not that clean. The hand sanitiser just inside the main entrance for instance. Given the months when the property was not being rented it should have been spotless. As I said, we had a very nice time, loved the cottage and grounds despite the dramatic change in the English weather.

  • "We have just returned from Cherry tree cottage in Norfolk."

I have tried complaining to you about the lack of cleanliness but you have referred me to this feedback form. You might like to read the email I sent you yesterday. It covers that the fridge had not been cleaned in a very long time, the bin still had material waste in it, had not had a bin liner in it so had to be cleaned out. There was rubbish on the floors in most rooms, including things like cotton wool in the bathrooms and bedrooms. There had obviously been a 60th birthday party there because there were the remains of the decorations. The coffee machine had grouts in, several weeks old and growing mould. The hall had a couple of dozen dead flies. We could find just 1 cleaning sponge, and 1 bottle of cleaning fluid, to clean a large kitchen, including washing up, and 4 bathrooms. It’s hardly surprising therefore that everything was dirty. This was a special celebration for us and was somewhat spoiled by the condition of the cottage. We have stayed in many cottages. This is a large, and expensive, cottage and we expected higher standards. I am particularly concerned about this as I have booked the cottage for a week in May for our family to stay in while attending a wedding in the area. I am really worried that we will experience the same extremely poor housekeeping. Please can you reply to this?

Firstly, may I say that I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at Cherry Tree Cottage. Secondly, I am surprised that you say that our cottage was not properly cleaned. 1. The fridge is cleaned every time, without fail, when our guests leave. 2. I must assume that when the bin liner was removed a small amount of waste was spilt, however a new bin liner should have been put in place and at that time the spillage would have been noticed and cleaned. The coffee machine should have been cleaned - I do apologise. 3. Regarding your comments on cleaning materials. We always put new jay cloths at each of the two kitchen sinks, plus a scouring sponge, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, Dettol cleaning spray and a kitchen roll. I believe this to be sufficient for three nights stay. 4. As you know we are surrounded by farmland and are therefore subject to insects entering the property from time-to-time. We do our best to deal with them as soon as possible. 5. I do not understand your comments regarding rubbish on the floors. Every part of the cottage is vacuumed and all hard floors washed before guests arrive. It is unfortunate that I was away on holiday before and during you stay, because I routinely check on all aspects of cleanliness before guests arrive; I also check with guests within the first two hours of their arrival that all is well. After three years without complaint I was upset to read your e-mail and it is hard to believe that my cleaner, who is a loyal family member would fall below her normal standards. Property Owner

They are as follows: 1. The kettle lid kept leaping up when switched on, we had to move it as it was placed under a cupboard 2. Another toaster would be helpful. When everyone is having breakfast in a 12 bedroom house, more equipment is needed 3. More teaspoons are needed, there aren't enough 4. A couple of spot lights in the living room need replacing, they keep flashing 5. A couple of spot lights on the landing need replacing, they keep flashing 6. There was a lot of dust under the sofas in the living room area 7. The carpet in the living hadn't been hoovered either 8. The bathroom door didn't close in the annex 9. The fabric place mats all needed a wash On the whole we had a great week and loved the house and gardens

Firstly, may I say I am pleased you enjoyed your stay at Cherry Tree Cottage and thank you for your comments which we have addressed as follows - Kettle - this has been replaced. Toaster - this has now been provided. Teaspoons - these are forever disappearing but we have now replenished the supply. Spotlights - these have been replaced. Carpets - the cottage is hoovered throughout and the hard floors washed upon every guests turn round. The sofa is not moved every time as it is very heavy and is also dependant on time availability between turn round cleaning/preparation. Further, we have purchased a second rug so one can be in situ whilst the other is away for cleaning. Bathroom door - we still await the carpenter and will chase him up. Place mats - we are looking for something more appropriate but in the meantime these have been washed. Property Owner

The annex was brilliant as it allowed me and grandma to retreat to watch TV without the distractions of our grandchildren and their friends towards bedtime.

Every comfort is catered for. we had a bit of trouble getting the oven to work it took a teenager to sort it out! I would go back, it's a great family get away, we wished we had booked another day.

  • "A wonderful cottage, in a lovely location."

We arrived to fresh milk, bread, butter and cupcakes. It was a really lovely touch and the owner popped by to see if everything was ok too. The house is very clean, tidy and well equipped. The bedrooms were a decent size and comfortable. The location is beautiful and quiet with just a 5 minute walk to the park and 10 minute drive to the pub & shops. I highly recommend this place and thank you again for a wonderful stay
