  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Suffolk."

The property is situated in the grounds of the owners house which is in the countryside and wonderfully quiet. The property is very minimalistic as stated on the the description provided by the owners. If you want to fully self cater then this is probably not the right choice for you. It would have benefitted from a freezer (especially in the warm weather) and a microwave. The steps to the property are steep and not suitable for someone with limited movement,. The area is magnificent. Lavenham is close by and visits to the national Trust properties at Melfor House,Ickford House and The Gulid hall in Lavenham are a must. You are able to park your vehicle under cover which is a bonus. The large bed was extremeley comfortable. Thankyou to the owners for the eggs and milk. Did we enjoy ourselves yes most definiteley.

  • "Lovely and quiet , ideal for a peacefull time."

Nice and spacious with a lovely bedroom with massive bed. Loved the power shower. Some information would have been nice and how to operate the TV as many would find it very confusing to put on and find sky. There is WiFi but very iffy at times and for some reason turns off at 11pm ?. Nice open kitchen but no oven trays at all, just saucepans. Overall we had a nice week and enjoyed our stay but feel the place needs a better information booklet for guests on how to operate TV and oven etc and local info on nearest supermarket etc.

  • "We had a fantastic one week stay stay at Cart Lodge."

It has been beautifully done, is light, airy, spacious, peaceful and quiet, however some instructions for appliances would have been helpful, eg the TV remotes (luckily I knew how this worked but others might find it a problem), the dishwasher (we tried to set it but it was already set on timer, luckily it came on during the night so the cycle was complete in the morning) and the oven (mainly so that you can tell what each symbol means). Despite all this we had an amazing time in this stunning lodge and I would recommend it to everyone

  • "The Cart Lodge was a lovely place to stay for a few days while we explored the local area, set in a secluded and peaceful spot."

Monks Eleigh is within walking distance where The Swan pub serves excellent beer with a very friendly welcome, or if you want to travel a little further The Bell at Kersey serves great quality food. Lavenham with its tudor heritage is just a short drive along the road and well worth exploring. The property itself is accessed by quite steep outside steps, but they are well looked after and well lit if dark. The open plan layout works well and the kitchen is spacious with good work surfaces. We would have preferred a freezer rather than a wine fridge and a cheese grater would have been useful (but there was a teapot). There is also a Nespresso coffee maker with milk frother that we didn't see mentioned in the listing.

  • "This is a lovely property in the quiet Suffolk countryside."

Well equipped and very clean. Staying there gave us the chance to explore the surrounding area and we certainly did! We managed to visit Lavenham, Bury St Edmunds, Flatford Mill, Aldeburgh and Sutton Hoo.

  • "A great place to stay for a couple for a short break or base to explore the area."

Good directions, so surprisingly easy to find and everything was easy to operate. Only thing we missed was a teapot (if one was there, we couldn't find it).
