"Really excellent place to stay in Woodbridge."
Spacious and comfortable. Really well located..2nd time I've stayed here. My suggestions are still the same as before! A small proper height dining table and chairs would make eating more comfortable. A couple more saucepans with steamer/ colander would be good. Plus a grater. And a bit more made of the courtyard area with better quality table and chairs and a couple of large shrubs in big pots to give some character and shade. But generally really good thank you. Woodbridge is really nice to wander about especially going down to the river and along its banks up stream. Dusk is magical: birds calling colours changing...

"Great little property, ideal for a short stay."
Everything at your doorstep, shops, pubs and restaurants. Parking an issue but you are told that from the beginning. Handy tip safe car park at the bottom of the road, cheap in the day and free from 6pm to 8am for overnight.

"Good location, cottage ok,but lots of cleanliness issues."
Pubic hair on toilet pan, greasy pan in oven, all kitchen cupboards dirty.Had to wash up cutlery tray, dirty.Fireplace area dirty, kitchen bin lid grubby.Needs new kettle, full of limescale, ice box in fridge full of ice ,unusable. On the plus side car park very close ,free after six o’clock.
Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the location but sorry that you experienced some issues. Had you made us aware during your stay, we would have been able to assist. We think there is an issue with the fridge door not closing fully which would explain the freezer compartment icing up so we have arranged for this to be fixed. We are surprised to hear that you experienced some cleanliness issues as the housekeepers are very reliable, nevertheless we have shared your feedback with them. Property Owner

"Great location, right in the heart of Woodbridge."
Well kept cottage with all the amenities required. The weather was warm during my stay, an added benefit would be to have use of a fan as the bedroom was very warm at night. Missed the use of a washing machine, always handy on a longer stay however wouldn't deter from booking. Overall a great stay, would recommend and would return again!
Thank you for your kind review, we’re glad you had a great stay. Have made a note to get a fan for next summer. Property Owner

"Good for a short stay."
Woodbridge is absolutely lovely, and we came down to see my father. It is was comfortable and clean. The downside for me was the outside space - I wasn't keen on the next property coming through the garden to put the bins out, as I had no warning as to when and I have a very excitable dog who could have escaped through the gate etc. This access is made clear on the website, I just didn't see it until we had booked. I also felt the shower needed a bit of an upgrade but it was fine for a few days.
Thank you for your considered review, we are glad you found the cottage comfortable and clean. Thanks also for bringing the shower to our attention, as a result we’ve had some new parts fitted. Property Owner

"The property is compact & bijou but still a very nice cottage close to the town centre."
The only reason I dropped a star was due to the fact parking was a nuisance and the TV was annoying, logging in & out of iplayer to search channels plus it turned itself off halfway through a few times, apart from that we enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Thank you for your kind review, we’re glad you enjoyed your stay. We do experience poor TV reception and luckily have been able to use the smart TV functions instead. However we have asked a local TV aerial fitter what can be done to improve the signal. Property Owner

"Cottage right in the middle of Woodbridge close to river walks, restaurants, and car park."
Very cosy and clean Outside area for our dog but also close to local parks Would recommend this cottage for a holiday break
Thank you for your kind review, we’re pleased to see you had a good break. Property Owner

"We had a lovely time during our stay in this cottage."
The decor was lovely and the smart speaker was a treat. Would just make one recommendation and that is that a couple of trays would have been helpful as there is no dining table. We did see the raised coffee table but found it a bit impractical. There is one huge tray which was great, tricky to manage up the stairs but a couple of lap trays would have been good. Just a thought. Otherwise we couldn’t fault the little cottage. It was immaculate, bright and airy, terrific little bolt hole and perfect location for exploring Woodbridge. Five stars
Thank you for your kind review, we’re glad you had a lovely time. Good suggestion about getting some smaller trays, these are now in place. Property Owner

"We really enjoyed our stay in Tailor's Cottage, Woodbridge."
It's a sweet little place just behind the main pedestrian street in Woodbridge, on a quiet street only about a 5 minute walk to the river. The lift-up coffee table was ingenious, but not quite the same as sitting at a table. Otherwise, it was all good - comfortable bed, very warm and cosy and a fantastic location.

"In the good side it’s a cute little hide out in the heart of the town and an easy walking to shops and bars if needed we were seeing family at Christmas ."
Some nice thoughtful bits and wine left out on arrival. Underneath this a lot of housekeeping and needs TLC and upgrade repairs as a damp smell is very evident and on all our clothes and blankets so all in wash on return home and not good for allergies as seems an issue with damp , but this in more detail is so going in a seperate note to owner out of respect to them . Not a five star property and some safety bits like the steep stairs and no handrail in sort and big door step at front with a hard lock to open door and sticky keys on back door too. Side is very dark and gate not good to open and shut with sinking stones to walk so not ideal for any one with mobility issues visiting . Lots of bits indoors not quite on point and heating is so difficult to navigate to hot and cold upstairs and down. Dog friendly was not entirely correct for our puppy let’s say that and lots of dog rules as well so hard to keep these and with paying a high cost for the week a bit extensive list of do and don’t . Noisy at night with cars racing and people shouting in street, parking a huge challenge even just to unload car as neighbours not friendly near GP surgery and moaned at car opposite garage for one night on yellow line but weather was cold wet and late on arrival so difficult to navigate parking with puppy and being bank holiday side streets were busy too and all on time Limits for cars and car park not cheap either . Need to consider mobility and safety of darkness at night as light is by the back door so very dark otherwise. If you just sleeping quite quaint but not totally great all day and had to clean cooker to cook dinner as all burning and alarms went off so a housekeeping error here . Not really worth the cost in comparison to others we have been too for much less but close to family so that was a bonus was able to leave car and have a ten minute to fifteen minute walk back .Dort key sticky on back door and front door deadlock a challenge and very high door step out for puppy so back door best but gate hard to open and close as was open on arrival and could see why that might be so no lock facility on gate either so a bit unsafe . GP surgery generates a busy full road too so no where to unload car and load car on departure so for a week it’s a challenge to carry it all back to car . So mixed bag but will talk to owner directly on anything else needed to be addressed .Would not stay again .
Thank you for your feedback following your stay, please be assured all feedback is taken on board, and we will always look into the points raised and rectify anything that requires it. We regularly inspect and visit the cottage to ensure that it remains comfortable, clean and welcoming for our guests. I am sorry that you were not happy with the property, had you made us aware of the issues during your stay rather than following your departure, we would have been able to assist. The stairs do have a handrail on one side, we will aim to get a picture on the website of the stairs and the step into the front door is clear on the images. 1 Tailors Cottage is a very dog friendly cottage regularly welcoming our guests 4 legged friends, as I am sure you can understand that we would not like dogs upstairs or on the sofas. We have not had damp reported before and could find no evidence of this through the cottage. Being so central to Woodbridge, we are not able to offer parking and we have not claimed to offer parking, there are car parks nearby. I am sorry to hear that you would not return, but do hope you still enjoyed your time in Woodbridge. Property Owner

"We very much enjoyed our visit to Woodbridge and found the location of Tailors Cottage a big advantage as it is less than a minute's walk to this lovely town with all its independent shops and lovely nostalgic 'village' feel- such relief from the endless "Shopping Centres' with their bland offerings."
There is a great selection of places to eat and the thriving Riverside Theatre/Cinema where we saw an arthouse film. We walked the River Deben: to see the Longship Project and excellent FREE Museum, then on for a day out at fascinating Sutton Hoo. Buses were a welcome surprise with easy trips to Aldeburgh and beyond. We travelled to/from by Train- excellent service and we loved the Station building with its thriving small businesses

"We arrived from Broadstairs, Kent by train to a warm welcome at the Whistle Stop Cafe in Woodbridge :) From there we made our way to Tailors Cottage - the perfect pre-Christmas (Re)treat for us."
Cosy, quiet but close to everything... shops, Longshed, Riverside Theatre, Tourist info/library etc. Beautiful walk along the river to Sutton Hoo and bus 64 to Aldeburgh with lots of interesting places to eat and things to see. It has been so good, we look forward to returning. Thank you!

"Fantastic place to stay very central, everything you could need around you The ..."
Fantastic place to stay very central, everything you could need around you The cottage was lovely everything in it for your stay bed was lovely & comfy great for Sutton hoo & Aldeburgh Maintenance wise the bathroom needs the mould taken off & oven needs a clean (didn’t use cooker)
Thank you for your review. Lovely to hear you had a fantastic stay and were able to take advantage of the location to visit some great places! Thanks too for highlighting a couple of maintenance issues which we will get addressed. Property Owner

"The cottage was exactly as described."
The location was perfect and we were able to park the car just a short walk from the property. Woodbridge itself is a lovely place to wander around with loads of history. The only issue we had was the oven thermostat seemed a little hit and miss but that might have been down to operator error! Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable vacation.
Thank you for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed the cottage’s convenient location and enjoyed your time exploring Woodbridge. Property Owner

"The cottage was immaculate and well equipped."
Very well located. It was wonderful to be able to pop out to shop. And walk down to the river so easily. Woodbridge is a very pleasant town. Little st John Street was amazingly quiet considering how very Close it is to the town centre. A delightful few days. Being nearly perfect I would like to suggest a few improvements! There is no dining table except outside. Eating on knees is uncomfortable. Could a small folding one be attached to the wall, positioned where the television is? Folding chairs could be incorporated into the design. Perhaps the TV moved to above the fireplace? The garden is extremely bare! I'm sure it's maintainance free but it is cheerless and shadeless. Easily improved with some very very large pots containing substantial drought resistant small trees ie: Olive and large shrubs: big Rosemarys, cistus, sage. Maybe a parasol. I had a lot of trouble with the key safes. And indeed took a while to be able to unlock the door too. It may just be me at fault but if not might be worth checking Everything so nice to use. Thank you for a really delightful stay.
Thank you for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay. You’ve made us realise we need to make it clearer to our guests that the coffee table can be raised for dining purposes. Sorry about the door key - it’s been replaced now as it had become bent. Property Owner

"I spent three nights at 1 Tailors Cottage with my dog."
I don't drive so parking was not an issue and it is an easy walk from the station - 10 mins max. The location is excellent for the town and to walk down to the River and quayside. I had a little trouble with the key on arrival but this was quickly sorted by staff at Best of Suffolk. The cottage is lovely, and had everything I needed for a short luxurious stay. Very comfortable bed, lovely big bath, spacious sofa and a welcome bottle of wine and nibbles! I had problem getting a signal for the TV but was able to access catch-up apps so used those. I would recommend the cottage and hope to return.
Thank you for your review. We’re glad you found your stay luxurious and were able to enjoy the lovely walks Woodbridge has to offer. The TV should be able to receive all main channels via the satellite dish so we will get that checked. Property Owner

"We enjoyed our stay in Tailors Cottage."
We found it very comfortable. It was very clean and well equipped. Location was only a short walk from the heart of the town. When we booked we were aware that there wasn’t any off road parking, but we didn’t realise we would have to rely on paying car parks for all of our stay in Woodbridge. There was a long stay and a short stay carpark within a short walk of cottage. Once we installed carpark app (Ring Go ) it was easier
Thank you for your review. We’re glad you found the cottage comfortable, clean and well equipped. Some of the surrounding streets have unrestricted parking and the Ringo App is a good suggestion - most car parks are council run with reasonable prices and free overnight. Property Owner

"Really loved this little cottage."
Will definitely recommend to others & visit again. Lovely sunny week, walking everyday we were here. Recommend Sutton Hoo & a trip over to Orford Ness. Need to book in advance via NT website. Great walks along the river in both directions and at Aldeburgh. Recommend drinks at the Mariners and had a lovely meal at The Table on Quay Street, it is obviously popular - great food.

"Wonderful stay in Woodbridge, thank you."
Sutton Hoo was great! Riverside Museum enjoyable and informative.

"Thank you for the wine and olives."
The cottage was beautifully clean. As I put in the visitors book I found the stairs very dicey. I felt another rail would be really helpful. I used to hold the banister outside the bathroom for support when I got heat to the top of the stairs. Unfortunately found the mattress very hard so took to doubling the duvet yo lay on and used blankets from home. Extra blankets in the cupboard would be wonderful to have available. Apart ftom this the utensils etc in kitchen were lovely and clean and sugar available was great too!
Thank you for your lovely comments Helen! We are glad that you found the cottage to be clean and well equipped. Sorry that you found the mattress to be on the hard side – it’s a medium firm Restopaedic Restapocket 850 Mattress which has great reviews and which we hope most people will find comfortable. However, we appreciate you can never usually beat your own bed for comfort Property Owner
