"There was no guest guide which is usually provided in Best of Suffolk properties, so no info about bin collection dates or appliance manuals."
The manuals would be useful as the washing machine and electric radiators aren't intuitive. The washing machine door sticks and you have to push it hard to click in so the machine starts. The online manual wasn't helpful in solving the error beeps. A concern is that the timer on the microwave doesn't work - instead of counting down, it stays at the time you set it to, so overheating and burning may occur. No vacuum cleaner. We didn't attempt to remove the bung from the chimney to light the fire (wood was provided) as there was no instructions or place to put it, nor anyway to clean up the likely soot. The kitchen and back door don't have blinds or privacy film so bear that in mind when using the downstairs back bathroom, accessed past both windows. If you're thinking of using the outhouse for bike storage, note that there is no lock, nothing to fix your own lock to (the access door or inside the outhouse). Overall, a pleasant place to stay but don't feel it is worth the full price advertised for a non-half term week in mid-October (£900, it was reduced to £500) as it is not of the standard I would expect. Best of Suffolk properties used to be of a higher baseline standard.
Thank you for taking the time to leave Crayfish Cottage a review. We are saddened to hear that you had a few issues while in house, and would always ask guests to contact us with any concerns they have in order to give us the chance to rectify. Thank you for bringing these to our attention, and the owner is going to investigate further. Kind Regards, Best of Suffolk Property Owner

"Very clean and comfortable."
Great location.

"Great location- would think parking would be tricky in holiday season but we had no problem."
It would have been nice to have open fire a couple of chilly nights but there was a note saying chimney blocked - cottage was cosy enough without. A bread knife would be useful - to slice the great variety of bread from the bakery! Other than that our stay was great.

"All in all, a great cottage and we very much enjoyed our time spent there."
A couple of observations. 1. Disappointed that there was no 'welcome pack', with no milk in the fridge, and only one teabag between us, the first thing we had to do upon arrival was go shopping! 2. No local maps with details of walks etc, I appreciate that these can regularly go 'missing' but for the sake of a few pounds could be easily replaced.
Thank you for your kind feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry that there was only 1 teabag, we usually provide a good starter amount so we do apologise. We regularly put maps in the cottage for our guests, often these go missing so I can only apologise but we will look to restock these more regularly. We hope you will return in the future for another visit. Property Owner

"Would have liked a clothes waiter or washing line to dry clothes."
Mat in small front bedroom by bed needs something to stop it slipping on floor. Really lovely cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in it.
Thank you for your lovely feedback and bringing things to our attention, we have since purchased a non slip mat. There is a clothes airer in the cottage already for your use. We hope we can welcome you back again in the future! Property Owner

"The cottage was excellent, lovely and bright, very comfortable and well equipped."
We were pleased to see that a lot of the features of the cottage had been retained and particularly liked the mix of vintage and modern, enjoyed the art works. The location was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back soon! Property Owner
