  • "Lovely property in a great location."

Very well equipped with everything we needed and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed leaving the car and exploring the local area on foot and had some lovely walks ending at one of the local pubs . Would definitely recommend and would love to come back.

  • "Very comfortable accommodation with everything necessary to make a self catering holiday enjoyable."

Just one point to note, the kitchen cupboards are rather high and if guests are vertically challenged it is difficult to reach mugs/plates etc. a small thing, but it would be really handy to have a small safe foldable kitchen stool. The shower non-slip mat was most appreciated, thank you!

  • "We had a fantastic holiday at Chantry barn."

The facilities were very good, and the welcome gift of wine and biscuits a nice touch. It’s a lovely property in a great location, particularly the view of the castle from the window. The village is beautiful and ideal for exploring the area. The local pubs had a good choice of food and very handy too.

  • "My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in 2 Chantry Barns, which is a very attractive terraced cottage of three in a pleasant setting in a quiet part of Offord with views of the castle over the garden hedge and trees."

The property was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and airy. All the equipment and linen was attractive and of good quality. We loved the stunning open barn for the cars. The instruction manual was extremely helpful. A repair job we reported to the owner was done quickly. One point: I think there ought to be a non-slip mat in the showers as the trays are very slippery. We would certainly come again. Gillian

  • "Lovely position and adequate accommodation for us."

We have been several times to be near Snape for the Festival. Ventilation difficult at night as no real windows ,one difficult to adjust. It was cold at night this year and there was not enough bedding Good stay generally.

The town and facilities were more than sufficient and the local pubs/restaurants were very friendly with excellent food. A great two days and wished we could have stayed longer. Kevin

  • "The property is advertised as having central heating."

This is not so, there is a mix of portable and fixed electric heaters which are inadequate for the high ceiling.

  • "Problem with ants in kitchen, although rectified."

Surprised at 2nd shower room (although minor maintenance issues with shower head not properly attached/leaking and doors not closing properly). Generally well-equipped and clean. Bbq gas empty and gas hose looked perished/dangerous. Patio area facing lawn could do with sweeping. Convenient location for village amenities and nice view of castle from sitting room. Easy access to footpath. Would happily return next year.

  • "Two Chantry Barn, Orford was lovely."

We have nothing negative to say. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, not a single negative comment. When we sat in the garden it was like it was ours, our dog Winniethepooch2021 had a great time, as you will see if you look at her Instagram page. This Barn was first class. Thank you.

  • "We had a fabulous stay in this very well equipped and comfortable accommodation."

We have stayed before in Orford a few times and this has been our favourite so far. All the kitchen equipment was super all excellent quality and replaced when things have got burnt or scratched. The position is fantastic with fabulous walks on your door.We would nt hesitate to book again .

  • "Our second stay at 2 Chantry Barn."

It has been improved with an additional shower room and toilet installed on the first floor. Everything comfortable and clean and a great view of the castle (although not sure about the colour of the new lime render to the castle). Granddaughters loved the bats in the garden in the evening. Shame the weather wasn’t kind (it was cold not flaming June) but have to concede that is outside the owners and Best of Suffolk’s control. I’d recommend this well-placed, comfortable accommodation for an Orford stay.

  • "Absolutely fabulous - very well set up, great location and proper parking (not so simple in Orford)."

Sparkling clean and comfortable. Best multiple sets of matching crockery ever seen in a holiday cottage - generally lovely touches going the extra mile. Orford and this location make up the complete package.Few hundred yards to the castle, 5 mins to shoreline. Little foodie paradise - bakery and chocolate shop are amazing. Superb fish restaurant, smokery & oysters, fish shack on the shoreline plus lovely little cafe also there. 3 pubs I haven’t tried. Superb walking country and Orford ness is well worth a visit on aNational Trust tour. Will be back.

Everything we needed but due to a recent hip replacement would have appreciated a non slip mat for the shower. Only one key in the box incase you think we took one home!

  • "Lovely property in a beautiful Suffolk village."

Everything provided for a comfortable stay - one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor along with the kitchen/eating, living area and modern shower room. Great for those who prefer one level living. Welcome pack gratefully received. Will definitely book again.

  • "This was our third visit to 2 Chantry barns in three years so you know we love it."

We are both in our eighties and find the pace and the amenities of Orford ideal for us. Two small things caused us a little concern with the house this time. The dishwasher seems to be very loose in its housing and makes an alarming noise as you close the front... and the shower head is showing distinct signs of wear- a simple replacement job.

The dishwasher housing has now been tightened and the shower head descaled now looking like new. Thank you for your feedback Property Owner
