"What a great find Lapwings was."
Clean, warm and comfortable. Everything we needed was there, a real home from home. Thank you for the wine and biscuits. It's very quiet round there but is still close to the town. There's 2 supermarkets 5 minutes walk away and if you don't fancy going into town there's the Railway Inn or The Old Generator Station nearby. There's a lovely sunny garden but beware of the clothes line halfway down in the dark. Ouch! A great stay, a lovely holiday and we will be back again.

"Superb house in great location, could not ask for more."
-
"The accommodation is spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable."
We used it as a base for coastal and inland Suffolk, doing coastal walks and visiting English Heritage and National Trust properties a bit further afield. Aldeburgh is charming and the beach is lovely. We particularly enjoyed The Red House which is within walking distance of 17, Lapwings. Benjamin Britten is everywhere in Aldeburgh and the place is all the better for it. The complimentary wine and chocolate biscuits were a nice touch and much appreciated.

"The house was very clean, comfortable and well equipped."
Could have done with a non-slip mat for the bath/overhead shower. Supermarkets and pub close by. Would book again.

"I thought lapwings was a perfect place to stay."
It was immaculately clean and stylish . The garden is a little gem. There is everything you need here for cooking ( not that we did ,there are excellent restaurants in Aldeburgh ) . It’s about a ten, fifteen minutes stroll into town. Lapwings is very calm ,perfectly placed in a very quiet area. Not forgetting parking which to my mind is reassuring to know that you won’t be driving around trying to find a space. We really enjoyed our stay here and I’m sure we’ll return .

"Excellent property in a great location."
Quiet & peaceful. A great deal of care has gone into making the property feel like a home from home. It is very clean & tidy with little extras eg night lights & scented reed diffusers. Clear & helpful instructions left for operating appliances etc. Also a lovely colourful, relaxing garden. We are very happy to recommend this property.
-
"A really clean, comfortable, well equipped property."
Fairly close to the sea and the town centre. Two convenience stores a couple of minutes walk away. Easy parking. We spent a very happy week here.
-
"It's a lovely and clean and well equipped cottage, Ideal location, parking for 2 cars is excellent."
-
"An excellently appointed cottage."
-
"Excellent holiday property, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and good location."
Dedicated parking spaces in front of property a real bonus.
-
"Stayed before, great as ever."
So well situated.

"We always love Lapwings."
Such a beautiful house and well equipped and clean. We are having our house locally decorated so perfect to stay at Lapwings. Unfortunately and not Lapwings fault the next door neighbours we think are renting their house to rather noisy people who come in late and leave early morning.

"Property was V."
Good. Altho oven instructions are vague! Had to ring Owner as coukdnt get oven to work - altho did in the end! Also text owner as key holder by front door is dodgy! Doesnt always work firdt time! Needed several attempts. Needs replacing ! Other than that a nice house in good location.

"Excellent property in good location."

"Lapwings was a lovely holiday home, very clean, fresh and comfortable."
Everything you need is provided (apart from a pen/pencil!). Really good location with supermarkets, high street and seafront close by. One suggestion would be to provide a non-slip bath size mat in bath instead of a shower size - much safer. Would definitely recommend this holiday home.

"We had a wonderful weekend in Lapwings, the moment we opened the front door we knew we had picked well."
It was immaculate. Everything was top class ,the beds and bedding so comfortable. The Garden was well kept and a pleasure to sit in . We could walk easily to shops and beach .Can recommend visiting Snape Maltings and also the Green Man for lovely meals. Our weekend was over too soon.

"Everything you needed was at hand in the cottage Extremely well looked after property and a beautiful garden All facilities worked as required and any instructions were easy to follow Lovely quiet area and we have been to Aldeburgh before but this accommodation was excellent and the parking was a bonus too."
We had a great holiday at this location

"Great little place to stay."
Very clean and well maintained. Particularly liked having a garden space and really nicely landscaped. One thing to watch out for - the bath is narrow and I did slip and as my foot rushed from under me I banged my toe against the plug cover. It is very sharp! Toe was bruised for a few days but fortunately not too bad. I can't recommend highly enough to use the shower mat! If I had lost my balance more it could have been very nasty.

"Fantastic property - clean, high spec and in a perfect location for a walk to the beach or into town and beyond."
-
"The nicest holiday let we have ever stayed at."
Nothing missing, all in good order and clean as a whistle with a high level of comfort. Cannot recommend more highly.

"We really enjoyed our stay at Lapwings which was truly a ‘home from home’ and provided everything we needed in a holiday rental."
The garden was lovely and we enjoyed relaxing in the sun after a day exploring. Its location close to shops and within walking distance of the beach and town made it an ideal base. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby particularly Sutton Hoo and RSPB Minsmere. Highly recommended!

The location was ideal for exploring the area. I would certainly recommend this cottage.
-
"Extremely clean and comfortable."
Sadly I was taken ill during the stay and had to be hospitalised. We were very sorry to have to curtail our holiday but will definitely book Lapwings again at some point in the future. John (the owner) was very helpful when we contacted him
-
"We have already left a note on maintenance needed on 3 points on the property for the caretaker."
A very peaceful and comfy property and very convenient to walk into Aldeburgh and the supermarkets. Our only disappointment was a lack of a cafeteria for making coffee so we had to buy one( we don’t like instant coffee)
-
"Thank you for a lovely stay at Lapwings - we would like to book again for the future."
Lovely, well kept cottage.
-
"Lovely well equipped house,good location."
2 things but nor a criticism, no toilet brush and a small towel rail by the sink in the bathroom would be handy.
-
"Modern, clean, tidy cottage."
As regular visitors to Aldeburgh it was really nice to have a quiet courtyard location with added advantage of parking and a garden which is unusual. We enjoyed our stay.

"Lapwings is an absolutely lovely holiday home."
It is clean, modern and comfortable. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Easy walking distance into Aldeburgh. We have stayed on three occasions at Lapwings so far and hope to stay again. You can also do a lovely circular walk to Thorpeness and back. Thank you.

About the location
ALDEBURGH
Thorpeness 2.1 miles; Saxmundham 7.2 miles.
The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!
