  • "What a lovely relaxing place."

Great to use as a base to explore. Hot tub was great, ready and waiting at the end of the day. Maintained by Eugene on a daily basis. Nothing better than sat in the hot tub watching the wildlife.

Beautiful setting, that is peaceful and private. Very welcoming hosts, with the extras such as tea bags and biscuits fully appreciated. Me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed staying here, finding watching the wildlife from the hot tub so peaceful. Lodge is clean and comfortable, with bedding and towels smelling amazing! Fully equipped kitchen, with everything we could need. And if there was something else, we were fully aware hosts would help! Hope to be back soon thank you!

On arrival we had welcome tea, coffee, milk, sugar and a lovely selection of biscuits. There were huge fluffy towels and bathrobes included, a wonderful clean kitchen with all the facilities that you would need. Set in a beautiful lush green garden with lots of wildlife to see. Relaxing and peaceful, a perfect get away with lovely friendly and welcoming hosts. Highly recommended.

  • "Owners were very helpful upon arrival."

The tea; Coffee; sugar and milk to get us going was a nice touch. The owls were a nice surprise! Deer were seen in the mornings, together with other wildlife. Very peaceful, and relaxing, and the hot tub was checked twice a day. The only minor thing you could do to improve the stay, would be to put an overhanging umbrella over the hot tub. But you can’t fault the cottage in anyway. Perfect, private and peaceful.

The hot tub was amazing and very peaceful while looking out over the stunning garden and variety of wildlife (the highlight being a pair of Muntjacs grazing). The pub (5 minute walk) around the corner was very nice (great food and a nice atmosphere), and there are plenty of amenities in Diss. We will definitely be returning (if not just for the hot tub!)

There was a lot of varied wildlife that came into the garden and was nice to see from the tub. If you are looking for a very quiet place and like to look at nice local towns this is an ideal place

About the location

DISS

Bury St. Edmunds 22 miles; Norwich 23 miles.

Diss is a popular rural market town in the south of Norfolk, where its buildings offer examples of gothic architecture, and an insight of the towns past life can be found within the local museum. The market place is the hub of the town, which is overlooked by its beautiful 13th century church. At the bottom of the town is Diss Mere, a 6-acre lake with a fountain that runs all day, along with its adjacent park where you can relax while watching the world pass you by, making this a truly idyllic location. Diss has narrow winding streets with secret little courtyards, and a high street offering an array of small shops and tea rooms. On Friday the high street is home to the weekly market and to the edge of town a weekly auction is held in the local salesrooms. To the other side edge of Diss you will find its 18 hole golf course. Walkers can explore the Boudica Way, a wonderful 40 mile walk from Diss to the medieval city of Norwich. Approximately 2 miles from Diss is Bressingham, with its Steam Museum,17 acres of beautiful gardens, garden centre, restaurant, and the Dad’s Army collection where you can wander through Walmington-on-Sea with its original props and vehicles from the TV series.
