  • "House was lovely and cozy, as described and location great."

Didn’t have any difficulty finding parking. We were troubled a little by flys at the start of our stay (had to get fly spray to keep them under control). They seemed to disappear when the weather got a little fresher. Kitchen was well equipped. Cooker lovely, although I couldn’t get the grill to heat (gave up in the end). Also, although there were plenty of oven trays, only a couple actually fitted into ANY of the ovens.

We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in our cosy cottage! Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. The grill works when the door is closed (our ‘Welcome Pack’ guides you to the full instructions for the grill and oven which are in the appliance folder beneath the TV). Apologises for any inconvenience. The double oven: the two ovens are different sizes! The larger trays will not fit in the narrower oven but will in the wider. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Property Owner

  • "Well appointed cottage in the heart of Southwold."

Very comfortable, clean and in good order. Having stayed many, many times in and around Southwold this is one of the best.

  • "Love this cottage and it’s my third visit - so speaks for itself really."

My only tiny comment would be the double bed is a bit lumpy (dips) and the 2 armchairs in the lounge are very low! Apart from that - all excellent!

  • "We really enjoyed our 1st visit to Southwold and our stay at 7, Church Street which had everything and more to make a great holiday."

The cottage is very close to the high street and the beach. We loved the old features of the cottage and especially enjoyed sitting in the whicker chairs in the conservatory in the evening. The only one downside was the only parking space was under a large tree so the seagulls left us lots of presents during the week we left the car there

  • "We loved 7 Church Street, it was very clean and comfy and well equipped."

Although it was in the details, the stairs were very steep and deep! But it didn’t spoil our stay. We were just very mindful going up and down. It would be perfect if there was an upstairs loo! The courtyard garden was lovely and a sun trap. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

  • "Great location a minutes walk to the High Street."

The spacious open plan downstairs has a lovely flow from the living room all the way to the garden. It’s a great mix of old and modern. Upstairs it’s a lot smaller and limited by the age of the property. The almost vertical staircase and lack of a loo limits its appeal I suspect.

We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your feedback. Please could you give an indication of where you feel the Best of Suffolk’s listing lacks detail or accuracy? Care has been taken to clearly mention the steep stairs. Did you feel this wasn’t prominent enough before making your booking? The Best of Suffolk listing makes it clear that there is not a separate toilet from the one in the bathroom. Previous guests have booked and reviewed us fairly, understanding that these are the facilities we are able to offer and can therefore be enjoyed and reviewed. We’re sorry that you would have liked a separate toilet. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage and we were particularly grateful for the comfy king sized bed."

My main comment is about the sofa and armchairs. The armchairs look great but are function follows form in that you have to be 6 foot 5 to sit in them - ridiculously long seats. I am short! The sofa also gives no support so after a while ones neck aches. Having said that we would return there because the two chairs in the tiny conservatory at the back were comfortable and it was a pleasure sitting inside in the light watching the seagulls flying overhead. Overall we had a fantastic holiday so thank you.

Our only negative feedback would be the quality of the mattresses, we all found that we had sore backs after sleeping. Would love to see the mattresses replaced with comfier ones. Other than that, the cottage was perfect for our needs.

We would suggest the following improvements. Rugs next to the bed in the main bedroom would have been a welcome addition. Reading in bed is a real problem with the iron bedstead. Pillow shaped firm cushions would have made this much more pleasant.
