    There is a great selection of board games. The property was spotless. Our only negative was the sofas , very uncomfortable (sorry) but it wouldn’t put us off coming back in the summer. A fantastic property

  • "Victoria cottage was truly perfect."

    From the decorations for Christmas and the communication with the owners. Everything was perfect and we had a wonderful Christmas break. So close to all amenities yet never noisy. Having the beach so close was amazing.

  • "We loved the light in Victoria Cottage."

    The interior was very tastefully decorated, with kind decs for Christmas a bonus. It was extremely warm and cosy. So handy for both beach and the high street. Gorgeously comfy beds with fabulous linens and towels. We are hoping to return for more in 2026.

  • "We had the most amazing stay at Victoria Cottage."

    It is a stunning property and we felt so comfortable and at home. We stay in Southwold twice a year and have stayed in many lovely properties but this has to be our favourite. The attention to detail was fabulous and it really is a beautiful place to stay. Amazing location and so comfortable.

  • "This was our fourth stay at East Green."

    Delighted it stayed as a holiday cottage following its sale last year. The cottage has had a few improvements (new locks on the doors are a big help). It has also been redecorated here and there. I believe there are plans to replace the carpet in the upstairs toilet (which would benefit from a wipe clean material). We do love this cottage. Very well positioned and everything you might need included within the listing. The only negative things to say are two things. The staining of the carpets upstairs which spoils the immaculate interior (this seems to be mostly in the spare double bedroom). We found the new sofas are also extremely uncomfortable (which is a shame as I believe they are probably good quality). The new outside seats are a welcome addition although we didn’t use them as the weather was so changeable. Welcome pack was a really nice touch, thank you Lisa for the gift.

  • "The only thing to mention is the the lock on the front door frame being about 9 inches from the ground is impossible as an 80 year old to get down that low."

  • "Really lovely self catering cottage."

    So pretty, cosy and sweet. Fabulous location. Very central, you couldn’t ask for a better spot near everything from sea to shopping to pubs and gardens. By lighthouse and little greens with trees. Tasteful interior decor. Top notch kitchen appliances. Private garden. Upstairs loo. I look forward to staying there again. I visited in winter and they put out seasonal decorations and ornamental lights which made us feel valued and welcome. Not to mention a kind gift and bottle of wine. I’d say it’s the nicest place I’ve ever stayed in Southwold. The bed was comfy with quality bed linens. The stairs were easy to use (unlike many old places where they can be too narrow or steep). I highly recommend this property. No complaints at all it’s a perfect bolthole in one of England’s best coastal towns. 10 out of 10.

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
