  • "PERFECT What a wonderful time we had, the barn is absolutely amazing, plenty of room and well equiped with everything we needed, the welcome basket was a really nice touch along with the wine, orange juice and milk in the fridge."

We arrived an hour early and rang the owners to see if we could get in early and as the barn was ready it wasn't a problem at all. The hotub was a bonus, very peaceful surroundings and very private. We would definitely recommend this place to other people and would visit again. Thankyou so much to the owners. • "A lovely cottage in a lovely location."

Sadly the absence of black out blinds and an odd noise repeating every 20 odd seconds throughout the early hours meant no sleep, which in turn meant limited rest, so we came home early a little disappointed. The hot tub was more a luke warm tub and the presence of the cctv camera pointing directly at the back of the property felt invasive and extremely off putting. All together not a property we would revisit.

We are a little perplexed at these comments as you told us you enjoyed your holiday. The ‘noise’ in the early hours is possibly the barn warming up when the heating comes on at 6:30 am. There is no requirement for black-out blinds because there is no street lighting. The hot tub is factory set to 37degrees for safety. The camera monitors the entrance to the property and doesn’t point at the barn itself. We introduced ourselves when you arrived and told you we lived nearby and to tell us if you had any problems. If you had we could have addressed your issues. Property Owner

Mary and Colin are lovely people and so helpful and friendly. Colin helped us find the spare gas for the BBQ one evening and was there to help us out. The barn is lovely. Great facilities with en-suites and dressing room area. Also there are decent hairdryers in each room which was perfect as I'd forgotten mine. The listing didn't show that detail although I checked before leaving. I really want to re-visit and bring more family as it's a great space to be with friends and family. Highly recommend and we definitely want to return.

Thanks for your lovely feedback Helen and we look forward to welcoming you all back. We thought all holiday properties provided hairdryers but will update our description to mention them! Property Owner

  • "Looks good on the outside, but needs some updating on the inside."

Settee very uncomfortable, taps rusty in bathrooms. Broadband fell in and out. Towel rails never warm to dry towels. Top tub a nice touch. Bedding was adequate. A little annoying going outside to a bigger fridge. Bbq was fine. And finally could not lock the key safe on departure.

Thank you for your feedback and whilst this is the first negative feedback we have had as far as we aware, we will obviously look into the points you have raised. We have a very high rebooking rate and guests often comment on how comfortable the barn is. The towel rails are heated by the heating which with the weather we have been having is not on, the taps are made of brass so don’t rust and the fridge freezer in the outbuilding is secondary to the one in the house for guests who have a lot of groceries, particularly if they are hosting a party. The internet is a full fibre gigabit connection, so very solid although on wifi it will obviously drop if away from the building; in the garden for example. The key safe requires the code putting in to close - as in the information provided by Sykes. Property Owner

3 bedrooms suited our family of 5, plenty of room to not fall over each other. Kitchen is so well equipped, loved the coffee machine each morning. Beautiful walks seeing the deer in the gardens surrounding the barn and the sunsets didn’t disappoint, even after a rainy day. Gazebo over the hot tub with the fairy lights was a lovely edition, the hot tub was nice to relax in. Thoroughly recommend the barn, we will return again!

The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and the hot tub was fab! Cottage well equipped and clean. We did have a problem with the TV, which we reported to owner and they looked at the next day. Unfortunately it couldn’t be fixed so they ordered a new one but this didn’t arrive whilst we were there, hopefully it will be in time for the next customers. We were left a lovely welcome pack which was gratefully received! The location was beautiful and perfectly situated for travelling around Norfolk and Suffolk. Plenty of books, puzzles, games to keep you occupied, plenty of power points in all rooms for chargers etc. The garden is very spacious and well kept, spent plenty of time out enjoying the sun. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back ourselves at some point (will remember to put the bin out next time)

Everything else has already been thought of and is already there! I specifically bought plastic flutes to have Prosecco in the hot tub, there was no need as plastic glass ware in all shapes and sizes were already there! So now my family and friends have said I have to buy my own hot tub at home to go with my plastic flutes (I’ll try!) Colin and Mary are fantastic hosts. The space they have created for us to enjoy is amazing. I would love to book again in the future and am already definitely recommending Whitehands Farm Barn to everyone I know. It is gorgeous! Only couple of minor points, we never found the drying room but used the clothes airer provided in the shed in front of the radiator in the kitchen. And we got caught out by ordering from one local take away restaurant who only accepted cash on delivery as we only had payment cards on that particular evening.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We do try to think of everything that guests need and it is nice when guests recognise the trouble we go to. We look forward to welcoming you all back. Property Owner

Lovely and quiet. Great base to explore. Not the cleanest when we arrived, had to clean the floors ourselves and chocolate wrappers found behind the sofa. No welcome pack or dishwasher tablets. Dishwasher needed rinse aid and salt, but none in cupboard. Could’ve done with a bit of TLC in places, the main bedroom ensuite shower drips (kept me awake in the night) and the dining room chairs for example were well past their best.

We are sorry you had a bad start to your holiday. We did contact you to apologise and explain that we had been away on holiday and that we had been let down by our cleaning company. We normally check the barn after the cleaners leave. A welcome pack was available but was not put out, along with dishwasher tablets. We have had a meeting with our cleaners to express our dismay and to ask for an explanation. There is a maintenance book in the property to make us aware of anything that needs looking at but there has been no mention of the dripping tap. We will have that looked at. We didn't want to leave. The photos do not do it justice. I took an 8 minute video and sent it to friends and family and everyone commented on its beauty. As a family, we ranged from age 21 to 89 years and took our 17 yr old Jack Russell with us and we all enjoyed our holiday break. The barn is home from home, clean and spacious and well layed out. We each had our own rooms and showers, and bath in the master room, which allowed us our own privacy and space when needed. The garden is huge and secure for our dog to bimble around, until his little legs tired, whereby he would collapse infront of the open french doors in his bed. The hot tub was incredibly clean and a great way to relax at the end of the day. This was a first experience for our 89 year old aunt. The owners have clearly thought of everything and the welcome pack was greatly appreciated. We all would definately recommend this property and hope to return :)))

  • "We loved Whitehands Farm Barn."

It is the most well-appointed cottage we have ever stayed in. My husband and I enjoyed the peace and tranquility as well as the fact it was in walking distance to a pub, our twins adored the hot tub and our dog loved the garden. Colin and Mary were really helpful in the run up to our arrival and also popped by to make sure all was ok. We will definitely return.

The photos do not do it justice. The fact that each bedroom has an en-suite shower room and a dressing area for the 2 twin rooms is excellent, especially as we were on a girls weekend. Colin made us feel very welcome from the moment I booked til after we left. Thank you Colin. Will definitely be looking to go back next year.

Ample parking for multiple cars. We had no trouble ordering a takeaway one night. The accommodation was perfect for 6 adults. Having 3 bathrooms was a real luxury and the living area has such a sociable lay out. The barn had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was a great edition and we made the most of it. The hosts were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for a weekend away.

Exceeded our expectations, very clean, has everything you need and even a complimentary box of tea, coffee, fresh milk, biscuits and wine! We stayed for a few days whilst Racing at Snetterton circuit! Perfect location as away from it all, but only a short drive away. Dropped into the local pub, locals are very friendly. Ordered a takeaway of which was delivered with no problems. We would highly recommend. Hot tub was a good laugh too!!

  • "This property was finished to a very high spec (oh!"

those taps...!), squeaky clean and well equipped. Good linen and large fluffy towels, a welcome pack with contents above and beyond, and owners who were helpful and friendly even before we arrived, but who respected our privacy. We were an odd combination..2 elderly and wobbly parents, taken for a break by their 2 elderly children (!) and a dog. We each had our own spacious bedroom, en suite, and the living area was large and level, ideal for the not-so-sprightly, and the layout was convivial and conducive to family interaction. TV with Netflix and Amazon gave plenty of entertainment scope for a wide variety of tastes and ages. The garden was huge, totally secure, able to let the (deaf) dog out quite safely as gates kept her off the lane. We found plenty to see and do in the area, there was a lot of information for us in folders, all clearly labelled into categories, eg For Children, Walks, etc.. Simply cannot fault the accommodation, it was tailor made for us, and would fit most perfectly friends or families with wide age ranges, and is suitable for people with less than perfect mobility. A great place to stay, a great location to explore lovely Norfolk.

  • "The owner was very helpful prior to our arrival via the use of his personal email , so we were able to discuss our needs and it was great to meet the owners directly during our stay ."

A well appointed and comfortable warm holiday home, needed due to the Easter heavy rain. A useful welcome folder on arrival with menus of the local takeaways that delivered - the Indian was good. Organised tourist information in a box was very useful. The welcome hamper on arrival and fresh flowers were appreciated. Sadly phone reception was not great for us in the barn but it had good WiFi connection and TV reception. All the en-suite bedrooms worked well as we were all able to be independent . The barn was appreciated by all 3 generations of our family ( 13- 82 years) and we all would return but hopefully with some sunshine.

  • "Whitehands Farm Barn was an amazing retreat for us as a family."

Recently renovated to an exceedingly high standard, we spent a brilliant week exploring Norfolk using the barn as a base. Many a cosy evening (and morning) was spent making full use of the facilities, it was great to have a bathroom each, the lounge/diner was snug and the really well equipped kitchen was used to its full. The owners were really helpful and accommodating both before we arrived and during our stay. We hope to come back again.
