"Our party consisted of 6 adults."
Everyone liked the accomodation but what spoiled our stay were the RATS in the rear yard. They were literally using it as a rat run all day. As a result we were unable to use outside facilities . we contacted the owner of the property who advised us that he was aware of the problem and promised to get someone down to deal with the problem. This did not happen. As a group we felt very disappointed that we had paid good money to rent a property with a serious health hazard. If there had been children in the party we would have left immediately. We all feel that we should be compensated. we await your reply with interest. Stephen Hollis

"We’ve stayed in many different Southwold holiday lets over the years but this has been the stand out."
Beautifully presented and characterful - a comfortable, real home from home. A blissful and restful holiday, thank you!

"I’ve booked this property for one week’s family holiday over a five year period and sadly watched standards decline."
This year we had to dispose of our own rubbish as the bins were full on our arrival. Even after two phone calls to complain and being assured they would be emptied, it didn’t happen!! The backyard was dirty and with broken garden furniture, not useable, particularly with young children. I’m aware the property is for sale, but nevertheless it was disappointing.

"We had a wonderful weekend in Ferry cottage."
It was very comfortable & very well equipped with everything we needed. Especially good having 3 en-suite bedrooms & the children loved having the Family bathroom to themselves. The close proximity to the beach was also a big plus. We'll definitely stay again in the future.

"The cottage was extremely cold we couldn’t get any heat upstairs at all and had to sleep with all my clothes on it all smelt very damp upstairs."
Only heat was the lovely area but cold everywhere else but the kitchen. Kitchen and lounge very good. Bathrooms and bedrooms not good Also all the mugs dirty and cracked all need replacing otherwise well appointed. The welcome pack rubbish. We enjoyed our two night stay but wouldn’t have wanted to stay any longer.

"Having read two of the previous visitors feedback comments we were slightly concerned at the current state of the property."
They included:- Property is looking tired, beds and seats uncomfortable. We did not find this an issue, seats and beds were fine, sure there is the odd place which could do with a touch of paint, some loose handles, stiff windows and patio doors. But judge that against the superb location, a short walk to the beach and town plus being at the start of the path to the harbour with its fish restaurants. Add to that the three en-suite bedrooms with lovely views across the marsh (with its flock of Barnacle Geese) and a fourth kids bedroom, they far outweigh these minor negative comments. Not forgetting the extremely well stocked kitchen and welcome pack of ‘goodies’. We would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to our friends.

We have stayed at Ferry Cottage for many years and we love the location and the wonderful views across to Walberswick The only improvement would be to smarter up the yard and the outside table but this does not stop us re booking for another visit next summer Thanks

"We have stayed at Ferry Cottage five years now and really enjoyed our stays, but we feel that it’s looking quite tired, especially the exterior, backyard and garden furniture."
-
"Location is lovely, lovely views across to Walberswick, handy for the beach and town."
Great that we all had an en-suite shower room. The sofas in the lounge aren’t very comfortable, and very tired. Kitchen is good. Drains need cleaning in laundry room. Patio would be lovely if it was cleaned, full of dead leaves and weeds. It’s a lovely house with a great location, but could be cleaner and comfier sofas, then it would be perfect!

"Brilliant house."
The online reviews are not very accurate as there was no dust and the dishwasher and oven were fine. We had a problem which was sorted extremely quickly. Only comment is the garden could do with a quick bit of TLC to kill the weeds. Have already booked for next year.
-
"Generally great but the beds are hard (so we didn't sleep as well as at home) and there was an issue with one of the sinks in the bathroom."
-
"Brilliant location, close to town centre with shops and restaurants, sandy beaches and countryside."
Compact but generally comfortable accommodation. Kitchen lacks a proper bin. No cafetiere although it has nespresso machine. Only one chopping board and no breadboard. Oven hadn't been cleaned for some time.
-
"Lovely House, very thoughtfully laid out & provided with everything we needed."
One snag encountered with a sheet provided for a change of bedding being too small, but this was rectified very promptly after contacting Best Of Suffolk office, (on a Sunday Afternoon), excellent service. Will definitively be booking again.

"Quite grubby in places internally and externally."
Needs a deep clean. Portico was full of cobwebs, bathroom extractor fans the same. Washing machine waste pipe needs cleaning as smells on drain function. Fridge was dirty inside. Under beds hadn't be vacuumed - litter, and toys were pound and were heavily soiled in dust.

"We have been to this property several times in a group of 6 and we always enjoy our stay there."
The sitting room is large with comfortable seating for all and good natural lighting for reading. The AGA heats the whole house so that we hardly used the central heating at all although we lit the stove on evenings when we were not going out. The town itself is lovely and the shops provide all your needs.

"The cottage is perfectly positioned with wonderful views."
We loved having an Aga in the kitchen, and the wood burning stove. We left some logs for the next visitor.
-
"Loved the cottage and it’s position but our family get together was spoilt by poor maintenance and cleanliness, especially a DISHWASHER WITH EXTENSIVE RUST INSIDE!"
We ended up washing up for our entire stay as read an article advising that using a dishwasher with rust inside can be very harmful. Dirty mouldy landing window, clogged cooker extractor fan, months of ice in the fridge freezer, not great beds .Such a shame as the property could be excellent. This was reported to the owner and Best of Suffolk at the time. I WILL NOT BE USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN poor customer service.

"The house was very dusty and had lots of cobwebs around the windows."
We had a lovely stay and loved the house and location but felt the cleanliness wasn’t great.
