A beautiful home with everything you could possibly need & very private lovely back garden & summer house . Lots of different places to sit & relax & read or be in a group , something for everyone . We were lucky with the weather & found no problems at all with the parking using permit provided & left it there overnight , as it was so close to walk ro car when we went out on trips out of the village . Beta cottage is in a lovely position on the village green with lots to see & walberswick is a very interesting & pretty village . We hope to return in the future , thank you Kate .

  • "We were so lucky to have been able to spend the most memorable week at Beta Cottage in August 2024, with 3 generations of my family."

Walberswick is the most magical place to stay either with young children or if you wanted to escape the traffic and explore further afield by foot. Beta Cottage is immaculately presented with beautiful fittings, furnishing and interior design throughout. Faultless. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped with top of the range appliances, coffee machine, gas and induction hob and provided with multiple cups/plates glasses etc. The owner has also thoughtfully provided a welcome pack, tea, coffee, spices and seasoning etc which is helpful if you love to cook! All the beds are really comfortable and almost all of them have a en-suite, adjacent bathroom or basin in them. The rear patio is delightful with a wonderful sun room and dining area for enjoying a drink or dinner later in the day. There is ample space for hanging washing and an amazing BBQ. The location on the village green is perfect with easy reach of the harbour, beach, pubs/restaurants, shops, ferry to Southwold and crabbing areas. The Black Dog deli is a must, pizzas at The Anchor and dinner at The Bell. Other highlights included early morning walks along the sea wall and beach, ice cream at the Parish Lantern and Bingo at the community hall! Trips to Dunwich, Westleton Thorpeness and Aldeburgh are within easy reach. Parking is a problem in Walberswick and there are restrictions during the summer months as the local community understandably wish to preserve the village feel and prevent the blight of cars on the village green. The cottage is provided with a free car parking pass to the local car parks which are a 2 minute walk from the property. This should in no way prevent you enjoying your stay at Beta Cottage. I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

I'm delighted you had such a lovely holiday and positive experience at Beta Cottage. Sounds like you love it as much as we do. K Property Owner

  • "We had such a lovely holiday in Walberswick and the house has such lovely decor."

The only feedback pointers we would give is the parking isn’t clear and I think the guest book in the property needs updating to explain it much better. Unfortunately the cleaner had forgot to clean the sink in the double bedroom so all the mess, brushes and toothpaste was still there from the previous guests. Also I think the house could really benefit from a garden to maintain the garden which wasn’t really used a lot due to it not being kept in the best condition. If the garden had been tidied up we would have used it a lot more especially with the gorgeous sunshine we had. Same goes for the front of the property because if it had been cut back and the seats out front tidied up we could have sat out there with evening drinks while watching the kids play on the green. Overall the house and decor is lovely so we would stay again.

Dear Paige - thanks for your feedback. I'm delighted that you loved Beta cottage enough to consider booking another stay - thank you. I have taken all of your feedback on board... and although you won't immediately benefit from it we've implemented the following... The parking details have been updated to clarify the situation and have spoken to the cleaners to ensure that they don't miss that sink again (unfortunately it was a new cleaner that day) I've also have a team in to tidy up the garden. Many thanks and hope to see you again sometime in the future Property Owner

  • "Everything about Beta Cottage was lovely, but there is an issue with parking that should be resolved."

Before booking we understood that parking was available outside the cottage. It appeared to be so on arrival - there is a sign saying Residential parking at the end of the road and a No Parking sign beside the cottage - which we assumed meant parking was only for residents. It was only when we were talking to the owner about another matter that the question of parking was raised. She told us we were NOT allowed to park outside the house from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. We had to use the parking permit (kept in the drawer in the hall) for the car park near the river - this was for during the day - no overnight parking allowed. So every day at 10 we dutifully moved the car to the car park and every day at 6 we drove it back to the cottage. It was no big deal, but it was annoying and may well be a nuisance for less able people or families with small children. Also, there is only one permit and the house can sleep 7 - that may mean 2 cars to park. I think this should be sorted.

Dear Janet - I'm so sorry that the parking was an issue for you- the Ringo system parking in the carpark is new and I didn't realise that there were signs for no overnight parking - thanks for the suggestion we will get an additional car park permit for the future and I will get the property description updated to make it clearer. I hope it didn't spoil your week at Beta Cottage Best Kate Property Owner

  • "Stayed in many holiday cottages but this one felt like we were staying in someone’s actual house."

The cottage is superb, I cannot fault it in anyway. The enclosed garden is beautiful, dog safe. Everything you need is supplied along with many interesting books. The owner has obviously sat and thought about everything this is why I quote it was like the owner had just left the house as it is to the holidaymakers. A parking permit is supplied to park down the road for one vehicle, any others will pay, that is the only thing not stated by the renting company , no summer parking. £30 for a weekly pass. Visit I’m sure you will love it.

  • "We felt privileged to be among the first guests to rent Beta Cottage."

Very well appointed with bright and airy rooms, and a large kitchen with a dining area that opens onto a patio and enclosed garden, with sunroom and eating area outside. All the equipment is top-notch. Really good bathrooms added in make this a comfortable and cosy house to relax in, with great views over Walberswick and the sea from the top bedroom. The comfortable sitting area is beautifully furnished and decorated and comes with all mod-cons including a little summer room/study which came in very useful. Overall, this is a great house, in a prime position to people watch as they come and go across the village green, with sea, shops and everything you need for a relaxing holiday

  • "We loved Beta Cottage, we immediately felt at home on arrival."

It is beautifully furnished, stylishly decorated and brilliantly equipped! Two essentials for us as a family – comfortable beds and enough bathrooms with decent showers – Beta Cottage delivers! The location is perfect for beach wanderings, wild swimming and mooching around the local shops, galleries and spaces. Just a day into our trip we felt rested and inspired – our eight-year-old said, “this place just makes me want to create things and do art” which sums up the space perfectly. The house has lots of great corners and spaces to hide away with a book and is well designed for socialising too. The kitchen is great for hosting, feeding and entertaining with doors opening out into the courtyard garden so you can spill out in warmer weather. On rainy days we were more than happy to be snuggled up inside. We enjoyed walking to the local pubs for food, drinks and the deli was a dream – the pizzas brill to throw in the oven after a beach day! The village has such a lovely friendly vibe and the kids played on the green in the evenings, safe in the knowledge we could see them play and no busy traffic. You will have a wonderful stay, whatever the time of year. Brilliant for families, but also for a group of pals for some grown-up fun or a creative escape!

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Beta Cottage."

It was very homely and had everything we needed. It was incredibly well equipped and the kitchen was fitted out to a very high standard. The large kitchen table meant we could enjoy meals together whilst looking out onto the well cared for garden area. Location to the beach and to the local pub was perfect. I loved the art work on the walls which gave the whole house the most unique and interesting feel. It is obvious the owner has put some real thought and care into this property. I’m looking forward to a return visit sometime and would highly recommend this cottage for a wonderful Suffolk seaside stay.

With four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a living room opening onto a large kitchen there’s plenty of space for a family get together without ever feeling like you’re getting on top of each other. Great location opposite the village green and close to the beach, local pubs, village shop and fantastic little deli. All in all the perfect holiday home with something for everyone!

  • "Spent a long weekend for a family get-together and was delighted with the facilities provided at Beta Cottage This quintessential cottage behind a small frontage is spacious, beautifully presented and comfortably furnished to a high standard."

Downstairs provided plenty of storage and drying space for the inevitable array of wet weather gear needed for a winter visit and the log burner created a cosy atmosphere. The well-equipped kitchen was a delight to prepare and eat meals in and became the social hub for the weekend. With 4 bedrooms and the same number of bathrooms this tardis-like cottage delivered on every front. Cannot wait for a return visit.

Superb base for all sorts of activities, particularly beach walks and exploring the surrounding countryside. Plenty of room for the extended family to be together for meals and socialising, but also to have quiet, down time as required. All in all a wonderfully relaxing home from home for a weekend or longer.
