  • "Beautiful property, incredibly well equipped, and one of the very best we have ever stayed in."

We had a superb long weekend here, and it had everything and more that three generations could want. It offered so much space with the bonus of a lovely garden. Walberswick itself is charming, with great walks, pubs, the beach and of course crabbing for the little ones. We would definitely recommend and would love to return.

  • "Little Chapter is a lovely cottage that is beautifully maintained and well equipped."

We stayed in Oct 2024 with a group of friends (5 couples in total + 2 well behaved border terriers). All of the bedrooms are spacious and furnished with very comfortable super king size beds (or twin zip linked). Four of the bedrooms have an en-suite and the 5th bedroom has use of the main bathroom with its bath-tub and shower cubicle (there is also a downstairs WC). The open planned kitchen/dining room with bi-fold doors leading to the garden was a lovely social space. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped - there wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't provided. We also liked the location of the property (close to the footpath that leads to Southwold) and the off-road parking for 5 vehicles. Both of the pubs The Anchor (approx 0.5 miles) and the Bell (approx 0.7 miles) are worth a visit as is the footpath to Southwold then return using the Ferry (perhaps having had some yummy fish and chips at the Sole Bay Fish Company - on the Harbour and ideally located not far from the Ferry "Terminal"). We had forgotten a few items but the Walberswick CO-OP was within in easy distance and had the items we needed. The weather was excellent - so all in all a very enjoyable weekend, would definitely recommend Little Chapter and would consider another visit in the future.

  • "We are five couples that have stayed in large country houses each year for the last twenty odd years and this ranks among the best."

It is an extremely large and comfortable house. Fully equipped and all the bedrooms were large, comfortable and immaculate bathrooms. The garden was lovely, and excellent dining pubs and amenities within walking distance. We would highly recommend this property.

  • "From walking through the front door to the time we left six days later the word impressive comes to mind."

Everything from the bedrooms, en-suites, well equipped kitchen, dining room and extremely comfortable and spacious lounge were superb. There was plenty of hot water, a reliable wifi system , parking for several cars and all within walking distance of a shop, the pub and the beach. What more could we ask for? We did have a slight problem re the unusable kettle but one phone call and a visit from the house keeper partially sorted the problem. The downstairs bedroom with its own lounge was a bonus and ideal for anyone such as myself who finds stairs and banisters difficult. Our thanks go to the owner and the house keeper for maintaining such a high standard, Little Chapter is definitely to be recommended and is probably the best property we have ever stayed in.

Thank you for your comments. We have worked very hard to make Little Chapter as comfortable as possible and we continue to improve and maintain things wherever possible. We are really glad to hear that you had a great time at our home and in Walberswick generally and we are pleased to hear that our lovely housekeeper was able to descale the kettle for you. • "We had the most wonderful stay at Little Chapter."

The house was very comfortable and practical. Masses of glasses and crockery. So wonderful to have two dishwashers! The beds were super comfortable! ( would love to know the make). Really good showers. Great outdoor space, which was secure for the dog. We played boules and Kubb. In a great spot in the village, very quiet , yet an easy walk to the harbour or to the bridge for the pedestrian crossing to Southwold. Only recommendations are a couple of larger serving dishes, salad bowl and a large casserole dish. We loved it. Thank you to the owners who have obviously put in much thought into making this house so comfortable and user friendly.

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We have furnished and equipped Little Chapter as our home by the sea so we are glad to hear that it met your needs. The beds are from Roger Harrod in Lowestoft. There is definitely a salad bowl as well as serving and casserole dishes so we are sorry that you didn’t find these. We will check what has happened to them. Property Owner

  • "Our family loved our stay at Little Chapter."

It has a great location down a quiet lane with lots of lovely walks for the dogs and only a few minutes walk from the Village shop and deli. And only a little further to the pubs and beach. The property itself was one of the best we have ever stayed in. Very clean and tidy upon arrival, and everything in great working condition. The layout was perfect for our family with a great downstairs bedroom with en suite and its own little lounge area. The lounge was huge and very comfortable, with lovely bifold doors out into the garden. The kitchen/diner was spacious and also had the bifold doors. The garden was beautifully kept with its colourful plants and shrubs, and very secure for the dogs. Would also recommend Best of Suffolk as we had a couple of queries before the holiday and along with the property owner the questions were answered promptly. Would definitely recommend this property, and would happily return if looking to stay in that area again.

  • "The house is lovely; spacious, light, spotless, well presented and very well equipped."

There is nothing to criticise. We had an extremely enjoyable time. The only suggestion we could think of was that the provision of a detailed list of what is acceptable in the recycling bin would have been helpful - we try to do our bit but everywhere we go is different!

Thank you for your sensible suggestion about the recycling. I will change the guestbook next time we are there. Property Owner

  • "Little Chapter is a wonderful property to stay in."

The interior is faultless, everything is there. The garden was very, very pretty and well kept. Our one minor gripe was the garden furniture which we all found a little uncomfortable, and as we were blessed with very good weather, some garden umbrellas would have bin welcomed.

Thank you for your lovely comments. Walberswick is very windy and garden furniture needs to be very robust and heavy so it doesn’t blow away or damage the patio doors. We are still looking at possible solutions but there are seat cushions and fold up chairs provided in the coats cupboard. Property Owner

  • "We were a group of 8 adults and 2 dogs and had a wonderful time staying in Little Chapter."

The house was spotlessly clean and had all we required. The garden is beautiful and so well looked after, such a quiet area we only heard birdsong. The location is lovely and so many walks around. We enjoyed the 'Walberswick Wander' which took in the bridge and ferry ride to Southwold. I would recommend this property.

  • "What a wonderful holiday cottage, ideal for a group of friends."

It is spacious, warm, comfortable, well equipped, spotlessly clean and very well located. The large garden is immaculately kept. The only possible improvement that could be made would be some cushions for the garden furniture. We were blessed with a week of fine weather but would have been happy to spend more time in this lovely holiday home if we had been rained in.

Little Chapter is by far the finest property we have had the pleasure of staying in. • "We all had a wonderful week in Walberswick, even though the weather wasn’t very kind."

Jasper the Dalmatian enjoyed his long walks on the beach. We had a Halloween party for the children aged 5 and 2 which they thoroughly enjoyed. The house was fabulous and very spacious. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything that was needed. The towels were very luxurious. The wood burner was lovely, the Jet garage didn’t stock the correct logs, we got them from Tesco in Saxmundham.

House was very spacious and comfortable. Kitchen extremely well equipped. All bathrooms en-suite except one which had its own private bathroom so everyone happy. There is a nice big gas bbq in the garden. The Anchor pub an easy walk away had very good food and drink. Rather a long walk to the ferry to cross to Southwold but worth it. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house.
