  • "Really welcoming, clean and cosy cottage."

Certainly no flies when we visited. (And if you visit and there are flies, then invest in some fly paper :))

  • "We had a lovely stay at Flaxen cottage."

It was really cosy and comfortable, and it a lovely quiet location. It was great to have the choice of two seating areas, as well as a lovely private garden. The beds were comfortable (although the second bedroom is a little tight for space - this is mentioned in the cottage details though). We would definitely stay here again. The welcome treats were a lovely touch too :)

  • "Cleanliness."

The problem we had was flies everyday especially when eating. We noticed in the signed book people have complained about this for quite a while. They obviously have an issue with a fly zapper in the kitchen. Other than that loved the place.

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location for visiting the coast and countryside of Suffolk."

Very well equipped and comfortable, secure garden for visiting pet. Unfortunately we had a problem with so many flies which was not good when trying to prepare or serve food.

  • "We had a few problems but were still able to have a decent time."

Great location. Quiet road . Welcome pack on arrival. Could be a lovely cottage apart from the flies. There is a plus zap fly killer in the kitchen and we used fly spray and fly strips. Spoiled the break for us.

  • "Absolutely lovely cottage!"

It had everything you needed and more. It was very well equipped and exactly as described. Such a peaceful location but also within easy reach to southwold, walberswick, aldburgh etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back! Will recommend this lovely cottage to friends and family too!

  • "Had such a lovely 5 days in the beautiful cottage enjoyed exploring."

our first visit to Suffolk. Would definitely revisit and recommend, We brought a small dog the garden is safe for dogs. Amazing shower and comfortable beds. Could not fault this gem. The only thing we missed was being able to walk to a pub in the evening we found they were too far away.

  • "This is a great cottage it’s just a pity our experience was spoilt by the lack of any cleaning or change of bedding and towels when we arrived."

Also the person I spoke to on the helpline never got back to me and I had to call back to find out what was happening. We went out to eat when we got back it wasn’t much better we did have clean towels and pillow cases but the bedding had not been changed. Not wanting to sleep on used bedding we then had to make a trip to the laundrette to wash and dry the bedding. Not the best start to our stay. Overall the cottage was very comfortable in a quiet location and well equipped.

  • "This is a lovely property, we found it to be warm, comfortable and well equipped."

Cleaned to a high standard. Good quality bedlinen and towels. Easy to control heating system. Very peaceful and quiet with no passing traffic. On-road parking directly in front of the property was always available. Ideally positioned for exploring coast and country. I'd happily book this property again.
