  • "Beautiful place to stay and kept lovely ."

Pillows in double bed quite hard, also TV not always working well we lost the sound one night and the picture another evening.

Thank you for your feedback. We've not had any comments regarding the plumpness of pillows before but will enquire what others think. Regarding the television - we are sorry this proved problematic. We have had an engineer out this afternoon and a 4G / 5G filter has been installed. Reception on all channels is now well over 95% and the clarity is 100%. If you do come again, please get in touch with us regarding any issues as we are only next door. Kind regards, Julia and Tony Property Owner

I’d thoroughly recommend this cottage and would love to come back when not working to enjoy it a little longer! Thanks folks, it was a great place to stay in a very wet and muddy weekend!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you had a great time and we very much look forward to welcoming you again - hopefully with better weather next time! Kind regards, Julia and Tony Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage in every respect."

Lovely old beams. It must be wonderful when cold enough to light the fire. Massive kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen was the best-equipped we have ever seen. The owners couldn't be more helpful. The only suggestion would be a re-think of the pond. Both of our dogs went into it. One by accident (a bit short sighted) and the other deliberately. Some sort of barricade would help. Definitely highly recommended!!

  • "Great short break to see relatives in the area."

All good except there are low beams and doorways which was not great for my tall son! Also if you go in winter make sure the radiators are turned on in the bedrooms.

Thank you for your feedback and we’re glad that you had a great break here visiting relatives in the area. Regarding the low beams we understand your comment but we try with our many photographs to reflect the fact that this is a period cottage and does not have high ceilings. Our heating system is working correctly and I suspect that the previous occupants had turned the radiators down in the bedrooms. It’s a shame you did not contact us about the radiators, as our Welcome Pack contains our contact details and lets guests know that we only live next door so we can easily sort out any issues that may arise. The owners are friendly and always helpful, hope to return next year, welcome basket of homemade biscuits were really nice, would definitely recommend Appletree cottage. It was our 1st holiday with our puppy, so we enjoyed lots of lovely walks, And our puppy enjoyed her time in the garden, and watching the chickens.

  • "We really loved the cottage, much more space than we had anticipated , with a quiet garden at the back, sun loungers and fresh produce from the greenhouse and huge hollyhocks."

The village is large enough to have a shop and a butcher, along with a cricket team, and it's a half hour walk to Warnham Nature Reserve, one of the most tranquil places in West Sussex. The weather was very kind to us and we enjoyed that summer drowsiness as we wandered the lanes and footpaths.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback and Tony and I very much hope to welcome you here again. Kind regards, Julia Property Owner

  • "Lovely and very well presented cottage."

Our only gripe was the height of the doorways and beams in some rooms. To be expected in a period cottage of course but if you are tall and not concentrating be prepared for a few bruises.

Thank you for your positive review and scores on our property. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. As the property is an early 19th Century property it is blessed with the traditional low beams and doors. We have highlighted the property's wonderful features and characteristics in the photos on the listing. We hope to see you back soon Property Owner

  • "Thank you so much Julia and Tony for your hospitality."

We felt welcomed and at ease from the moment we walked into the cottage, as your attention to detail and personal touches made us feel at home. We had a lovely time visiting the local nature reserve, strolling through the fields and eating at the Greets Inn in Warnham, walking along the seafront pathway in Brighton, visiting Horsham, Goring by the Sea and Rustington, and chilling out in the back garden. We will definitely do it again!

Thank you so much, Ysolina, for your positive feedback which is most appreciated. It was a pleasure to welcome you to Apple Tree Cottage and we are so pleased you’d like to come back! Looking forward to seeing you soon. Kind regards. Julia and Tony. Property Owner

  • "Apple Tree Cottage is a lovely place to spend your holidays."

Everything is decorated so thoughtfully and the cottage is very well equipped. Julia and Tony are lovely and welcomed us personally. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful garden and enjoyed the visits from their cat. Even though we had a car. It was very easy to use public transportation. The bus runs every hour and then there is a direct bus to Gatwick from Horsham. It is also possible to take the train. Horsham is a lovely market town to spend the day. Other places we would recommend to visit are Arundel Castle, Lewes and Amberly Museum.

Thank you so much for the super review. It was a pleasure to have you staying in the cottage and we hope we might be able to welcome you again. Kind regards, Julia Property Owner

  • "Beautiful cottage plenty of crockery cutlery and cleaning products."

Steps and driveway were steep but this was mentioned in the description which is a very good idea but these were no problem to us. Constructive criticism is no hanging space in the double/twin bedroom. Hanging space in the double room but no large drawers like the double / twin room. It’s definitely no problem to anyone for the hanging space but because we had dresses and shirts for attending a wedding this might be a problem to a fussy definitely not us. Very good quality curtains blind bedding only needs a new blind in the twin master bedroom thicker. In sunlight coming through specially in summer mornings. Really impressive with all the welcome letters biscuits and instructions and maps and local attractions. How can people complain about this cottage it is a mystery especially with heating in winter when there is plenty of instructions and as mentioned by the owners this could’ve been mentioned straight away. The cottage had beautiful stone Flooring and fire. Original amazing cute windows all very in keeping with the property. We did only want the Friday to Sunday but with the price we were happy and still thought this was good value for two nights. Yes and the biscuits were definitely home-made. 5 *

  • "WOW !! What a gem of a cottage"

. We had the fortune to stay at Apple Tree Cottage over Easter and what a find it was. The cottage is located in a super village, with shop/butcher and 2 local pubs within walking distance. The cottage was easy to find and the drive mean't an easy unload of baggage. The living room is stunning with an open fire which provided a warm and cosy atmosphere in the evening. The kitchen is a light and airy space with lovely views onto a private and enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog to explore. The kitchen was very well equipped, with everything you would expect, including a pizza slice, which made our 10 year very happy !! Upstairs, the 3 bedrooms are super, beds comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. The owners have clearly spent money and time creating this very special property. If you are considering booking it - simply do it, you won't be disappointed. 10/10.

Thank you so much Rob. We're so pleased you liked the cottage so much and hope we might welcome you again. Tony and Julia Property Owner
