• "The School Masters House is a superb cottage with everything you could think of provided."

  It is spotlessly clean, in a beautiful, secluded location with lots of walks along public footpaths literally on the doorstep. Would recommend 100 per cent and would love to stay here again

• "The owners live nearby but don't interfere with your holiday unless you need their help."

  Very helpful and pleasant. The property is situated brilliantly, so serene but accessible to many parts of Sussex and Surrey! It's so comfortable and has everything you'd need at home but with some fantastic extras.

  The host gave us handy tips, as well, for checking out Brighton and walks on the South Downs. We highly recommend the Master’s House—a longer stay would be even better.

  It is in an area of outstanding beauty and close to everything you could want to do. The owners are very friendly and went willingly out of their way to package and return a coat we had left behind. This should be a premium listing

• "When we arrived, it was like heaven, attention to detail."

  it has taken us many years to find a place we could stay, that was clean, where the furniture didn't collapse when you sat on it, the beds comfortable, no springs poking through, and no stained mattress and pillows, and we could bring our dog. The hosts Tania and Jerry so kind. Thank you.

• "We loved our stay and our hosts made us feel very welcome - they live in the property next door so its easy to check anything with them if you need to."

  The kitchen was well equipped like they actually expect you to cook in it rather than eat out all the time. It really was the best of both worlds - a quiet rural location, but only a few minutes from amenities including the well stocked community shop in Sayers Green. There are some pleasant strolls you can do right from the accommodation. It is also a good base to explore the wider area including visiting Sheffield Park, Leonardslee, Knepp, Borde Hill and Nymans.

• "We can honestly say that The Master's House is the most delightful property we have rented in recent years - full of quirky detail, and every amenity we could possibly have wished for."

  Jerry and Tania provided us with a lovely welcome pack, and made it clear that if we needed anything or had any questions during our stay, they were very happy to help. There is so much to see in the area that a week was not long enough, so we plan to return before long.

  Very comfortable with lots of interesting nooks, books and decor. Owners very attentive and available to sort out any small issues and provide info on the area. A great base for the Sussex coast.

• "This beautiful house is set in the Sussex countryside but within a couple of miles of the A23/London Road."

  The house is immaculately presented, filled with interesting objects and good quality furnishings. Very warm and comfortable with every amenity anyone could desire. We've stayed in many Sykes cottages over the years and this house is the best by far.

• "Absolutely stunning house."

  Every little detail was of a high standard and there was nothing you needed. The little touches of eggs, milk, wine and chocolates were very appreciated. The hosts were very friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend this house to anyone.

• "Had a great stay, despite the awful weather, at this lovely and interesting house, It’s beautifully decorated in a lovely and quiet position towards the end of a lane."

• "Spacious, well kitted out, very comfortable and in a beautiful location."

  Could not fault a thing. Very dog friendly too. Owners were lovely and left us some things to get us started (wine, cake, eggs, milk etc) which was very kind. On hand if needed but not intrusive at all. I have already recommended it to friends and family.

• "Beautiful house."

  Very clean and comfortable. The beds are very good. Extensively equipped. Everything you could need is there, and more. Decorated with care. Really every detail has been thought of. There was a bowl of fresh drinking water for the dog at the outside door when we arrived. . We thought it was perfect!!! We will definitely recommend it to others and want to come back ourselves.

• "A fascinating and unusual property attached to the owner's home in a peaceful location."

  Very comfortable and well equipped and provided a great base to explore the area. Some "extras" on arrival was a great touch and we were made to feel very welcome. WiFi worked fine and more than adequate for email, web browsing and occasional streaming on a tablet.

• "The property is well equipped and comfortable."

  We were disappointed that we could not use the larger garden area where our dog could have roamed safely. The Wi-Fi was poor and would not support streaming eg Netflix on the tv.

  We are sorry that you were not happy with the Masters house, the garden you mentioned does not belong to the Masters house this is also written in the guide book. The rear garden belongs to the masters house. I do hope that you and your family enjoyed the amazing dog walks on our doorstep. Netflix is normally ok, but this is a rural location and it can occur on occasion although it's quite rare. Property Owner

• "An unique and beautiful house surrounded by beautiful countryside yet close enough to Brighton."

• "This is a lovely, well looked after home that has been recently modernised."

  The welcome bottle of prosecco and chocolates was a nice touch and made us feel really welcome. The house was very clean and we loved the interior decor, especially the framed artefacts that were found during the renovation works. The location is down a quaint country lane and is very quiet, although there is a Tesco supermarket about 10min drive away. There are also lots of pubs and restaurants just a short drive away. We had a great week at the Masters house and would definitely recommend it.
