Thank you so much for your comments. We are looking at changing the glazing in the front rooms, so hopefully next time you visit this will have been done. The beds and bedding are super comfy, and great quality. The location is brilliant for walking into town and enjoying numerous places to eat and drink, there is also a plethora of walks right from the door. The road outside is quite noisy if you are not used to traffic noise, but otherwise, given its town location, it’s very quiet with regards people noise. This would not put me off returning, and should I be looking to stay in this area again, I would not hesitate to book Swan Cottage

It felt as though the entire property had just been refurbished - everywhere was spotless - from carpets to walls, furniture and utensils. Attention to detail was also much appreciated - from hooks on the back of the bathroom doors to spare batteries just in case the TV remote failed. (It didn't.) And although it's not really featured in the pictures, the 'spare room' leading to the balcony with the river view is another nice place to just chill. The road noise is obviously apparent, but knowing about it in advance meant it wasn't a nasty surprise. We just turned our backs and faced the other way for a gorgeous view up river.

The bathrooms and showers were excellent, and the toilet on the ground floor was very convenient. The kitchen is modern and well kitted out. The owner also left us milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine to welcome us to our temporary home. Swan Cottage was our home for the week. Arundel is a lovely town with good pubs and excellent, if expensive, resturaunts. The surrounding area has many interesting places to visit, the pick of which was the Weald living museum, the home of BBCs "The Repair Shop". All in all, a very good choice for our holiday. It had everything you could want: clean, spacious, well equipped, excellent attention to detail, a warm welcome from the host, off-street parking, and only a short walk into Arundel. The only downsides were beyond the owner's control: the fact that the river is less than picturesque at that point in its flow; and also the close proximity to the A27 (although the traffic becomes 'white noise' very quickly and can be ignored). About the location

ARUNDEL

Worthing 8 miles; Goodwood 8 miles; Chichester 10 miles.

Arundel sits just outside the South Downs National Park and with the River Arun winding through the town makes for a popular tourist destination when visiting Sussex. Combining one thousand years of history with independent shops, contemporary art galleries, restaurants, cafes, delightful drinking spots and great attractions, Arundel has a thriving events calendar. With leisure pursuits from walking across the South Downs to canoeing, boating or cycling, there is something for everyone when you visit Arundel. The town's long and varied history dates back to 1086 when it was mentioned in the Domesday Book and during the 14th century it became the seat for the Dukes of Norfolk. Arundel Castle is one of the longest inhabited country houses in England and is open to the public from April to October. Arundel Cathedral stands majestically over the town and is open every day. This beautiful building is well worth a visit but be ready for the steep climb up the hill and along cobbled streets. So much to see and do no matter what the weather or time of the year, Arundel is the perfect choice, now all you have to decide is "how long can I stay?"
