  • "Overall a nice place unfortunately the wrong key code number was provided to us so a bit of a phaf getting in,sorted over the phone."

Had trouble with the TV loss of signal but may have been due to the heavy rain and windy conditions. A few comments: The on suit shower was scalding hot apparently the cold water not working In mixer. The corkscrew is broken. Would be nice to have egg cups. The main light in living room was not working either bulb blown or electrical fault. A suggestion: Coat rack or coat hooks in hallway. The outdoor light in back garden was not working.

  • "Overall the cottage was comfortable with everything you need."

The front of the property was untidy & looked shabby & not like the photo on information.. Back garden area is tiny & again misleading photo on info: Although the back was fenced felt a bit exposed when it was dark due to lack of curtains/ blinds between living room & extension.

  • "We had a fab week."

Perfect location for the beach which was empty (brilliant) little kiosk a lifesaver. A very spacious bungalow. Ample wardrobe space. A Little sparse on the furnishing for the conservatory just needed a couple more chairs. Shower in the en suite was running at boiling we did report while we were there. Would definitely stay again.

  • "This cottage does live up to its listing and was very comfortable."

However, I only read reviews once we had arrived and it seems that things don't change. Several concerns listed over the last year have not been remedied. The en-suite shower has two settings - very hot and scalding hot which had been reported months before (we have a similar shower at home and the controls are very simple), the tile edging in the en-suite is still hanging off (reported in a previous review). I would also like to add that to use the second double bedroom in the summer you need to be able to sleep in full daylight as the skylight has no covering. There is no shower screen/curtain in the bathroom. We also love fresh coffee and was surprised to find that there was no provision to make fresh coffee, not even a cafetiere! We purchased one and were happy to leave in the cottage for future clients.

  • "Superb property, lovely and close to beach."

Immaculately clean on my arrival with great "pre trip communications". A nice gift of of chocolates on my arrival too. Very useful guest hand book and lots of leaflets on things to do, to see, places to go. The bedrooms were very well appointed and furnished as was the living area. The kitchen was well equipped with plates, glasses, cutlery. Highly recommended and I'll definitely be returning to "Bay Cosy".

  • "The 'cottage' was lovely with lots of thought put into making it homely and equiped."

(throws, bins, mirrors, hairdryer, airfryer and more) The decorations around the home were pretty and it was a very roomy place to stay with plent of space to hang your clothes. My husband thought the initial view as you looked at the home could be a bit updated and attractive. I had read previous reviews and there were plenty of tea spoons! the ensuite could only work with a curtain and was in the corner out of sight. There could be more chairs but we moved them around. The Kiosk shop at the end of the road is an amazing aladins cave and very friendly. We loved the nearby telephone box library. We would have liked a local map and more leaflets about local pubs, restaurants etc. Some homes have a visitors book where people write recommendations from their experience. Overall a great place to stay. Thank you.

  • "When we walked into the property, we were surprised at how empty and sparse it looked."

The considerably large conservatory lacked any comfortable chairs for the three of us and the living area had no table lamps or rugs to enhance the 'cosy' feel that was advertised. The kitchen light was so dim that we could hardly see to cook in the evenings and there was no wall fitting for the bathroom shower. The beading on the wall of the ensuite was falling off and needed repairing and there was no toilet roll holder in either ensuite or bathroom. On the plus side, we appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine, the throws and cushions and the condiments that had been left in the kitchen cupboard. The central heating was efficient and the beds were moderately comfortable but we would have preferred that the bedding had been ironed and not left creased after having been washed. The cost of our two night stay was far more expensive than the accomodation was worth which is why we would not readily recommend it.

  • "We stayed here for 16 nights and was ideal."

The location is great, the beach just a few mins walk, a little convenience shop a few mins away too. The main Pevensey high street and Eastbourne town close by as well. The property was very clean and tidy throughout, everything was provided for a home from home. The bedroom sizes were great, nice quiet area. Parking for three normal sized cars too. The owners were great to respond to any questions, always on hand to help, but never intrusive. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

On arrival the place didn't feel fresh and clean, the kitchen was poorly equipped i.e. no scissors only one tea spoon and the cutlery left a lot to be desired so much so we went out and bought a set of cutlery some scissors and a baking tray. The sink waste seemed to empty into the washing machine and the smell was bad, Katy did call in and emptied the washing machine and afterwards we emptied daily ---- not really what you want on a holiday. All in all we won't be back at Cosy Bay Mervyn and Susan

  • "The holiday let was clean, cosy and spacious but the outside appearance is disappointing."

The exterior is quite tatty which does not give a good impression on arrival. The outside areas and driveway needed tidying. The big doors on the conservatory do not close properly, kitchen doors need realigning, tin opener did not work. No bedside lamp on one side of the double bed in the main bedroom. The owner had provided a lovely welcome pack and the courtesy items and toiletries were much appreciated as some owners do not even provide salt and pepper! Although we didn’t use them, it was nice to see the picnic items and beach chairs available. There were no instructions for use of the heating controls or TV … unless we missed them. There was a Google device and a speaker in the bedroom but we did not know how to connect. The location is good and it was lovely being so close to the sea for dog walks. The local kiosk is great for any essentials needed. Sovereign Marina is a short drive away with ASDA and more retail outlets nearby.

Thank you for your review and feedback. At the time of your stay we had many maple leaves dropping and blowing around the property. Our gardener does their best to collect all the fall leaves on a weekly basis. We were sorry to hear you missed some of the instructions in the house folder. We advise guests to informed us of any broken faulty and missing items in the house, during their stay. This allows us the opportunity to swiftly resolve them. The welcome pack was the best we've ever had and we've had a few over many years of self catering holidays. The property was comfortable with plenty of nice homely touches. The only downside was that there is no way of shutting out the light in the bedroom with the skylight and with dawn being very early and the sun beating down this became a bit of a problem. The Conservatory was lovely but too hot during warm weather. The owners did offer us a fan if we had wanted it but we had taken our own. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Thank you Linda for your review and feedback. We have taken on your points and had the bedroom sky light window tinted. Not owners fault but conservatory end was very hot could not sit in that part of house because of the very unusual weather. Some sort of curtain or blind or maybe a fan would help.. Sink in bathroom is very slow to empty. All in all no other complaints. Good area for visits to Eastbourne , Bexhill , and gardens at Herstmonceux and Batemans Cottage .

Thank you so much for your feedback and I am thrilled you had a great holiday. I appreciate the recent heatwave has made everything a bit warrmer than usual and I do have a fan available on request, but I'll make sure to leave this in the conservatory this summer for guest comfort. The sink has been checked and although a slow drainer, it is in working order. Thank you also for acknowledging the cleanliness and comfort with the great scores, much appreciated. Property Owner
